Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did Keli Roberts New Definitions followed by Yoga on Demand 30" practice. This Keli DVD is a functional fitness type of weight workout with drills. Each drill has a FF weighted move - 1 lower body - 1 upper body and then a plyometric drill. The Plyo drill mimics the lower body work you just did....so it's like a double blast. It is followed up with planks and ab/core work with a dumbbell and some pilates type abs thrown in and ends with a stretch. This was a good workout and I burned 300 calories. Although, my muscles never feel totally worked when I do functional fitness moves rather than isolating specific muscles like you do in a traditional weight workout. I know FF is important though....so......must do it.

Had to cut the workout short this AM as my one cat is very sick and she has an early vet appt. I'm very worried about her. She's lost a bit of weight and yesterday, she started acting VERY sick. She hasn't been eating real well and then yesterday she started throwing up....and this went on all day and night. She has been lying by my feet and if I get up and move her (cuz I have to move) she plops down right where I set her down like it's an effort to even get comfortable. Needless to say I'm VERY worried that we are looking at something a bit on the serious side and I'm not really ready to say goodbye to her just yet. She's just pushing 10 years old.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

I am sore in the pecs this morning. My lats look like they are coming out even more..noticed when I had my arms up when putting my hair in ponytail. I will be able to go to 100# for pulldowns next time! YEAH! So today I am going to bike ride...gonna be like 80 and then do my circuit training minus the imax 2 blast.

Sorry to hear about your cat. Please let me know how it goes at the vets. I can understand you would be worried. Our cat is about 12 or 13 years old. She has been doing fine. She can't jump high too much now and seems to have put on more weight as well. She gives me kisses all the time. I would not know what to do without her. She has been with us for so long. My dd has been taking her for walks outside off and on. She loves to go out and eat the grass, etc. Now she cries all the time to go out since dd has spoiled her some more. I don't have time for the most part. I may take her out on my rest day.

So Brooke has the new soaps out now. I just ordered Shanghaied and Kratoka. Looks like Embargo is not out anymore. Love that one.

Had an excellent workout this morning. Started with shoulders and ended with cardio coach. This is what I did, 2 minutes rest between each set for shoulders, all these exercises is the heaviest I have ever gone:

Barbell Press: 60# - 1 set/6 reps, 2 sets/5 reps
Wide Grip Upright Row: 60# - 1 set 5 reps; 65# - 2 sets/5 reps
Lateral Raise: 20's - 1 set/6 reps; 22's - 1 set/6 reps
Bent Over Lateral Raise: 22's - 2 sets/6 reps
Dumbbell Shrugs: 40's - 3 sets/6 reps (should have gone heavier)

Shoulders didn't feel really worked which was weird. Should have done abs after but ran out of time. I will do abs tonight.

Did Cardio Coach #3, I REALLY love this one, I think its my favorite shorter CC workout. Lots of sprints which I love. Wore my HRM for this only, workout was 37 min., was in my zone for 27 minutes and burned 204 calories. Can't believe that calorie burn! Thats high for me for a half hour cardio. Travelled 2.08 miles.

Lora - I'm sorry to hear about your cat. Hope she's ok.

Tomorrow is my rest day! Yay! Have great workouts everyone!
 
Gosh Debbie, your hogging all the weights this morning. lol. Some serious weight for the shoulders, girl!!! ANIMAL!!!!! You will feel it in the shoulders tomorrow. Very nice workout.

Morning Maniacs! Today is hopfully a Mt. Bike ride after work. Should be a nice day. I went shopping yesterday up in Park City at some of their outlets stores. I was pleasantly surprised to see one of my favorite bike clothing store there-- They had PEARL IZUMI! I immediatley went there and spent way to much money on all kinds of sleeveless jerseys and vests and one pair of long tights. Could not have been happier to see that store there! I also went to Old Navy and got some Camo Capris. Went to lunch at a cute little Cafe and had the broiled Ahi Tuna sandwich.:9

Lora-Sorry to hear about your cat. 10 years isn't that old for a cat. Hopefully the Ver can help her out and it's not as serious as it looks. I had a 20+ year old cat at one time. DH found him abandoned at a gas station and brought him home. Had him for a few years. He was so old, he looked like a cartoon character.

Debbie- Wow! This rotation is really building some strength! I bet you are happy about that!

Char-What is Vioxx (or whatever) and what would it do to help your knees? Yeah, I found me a good Dr. He is the Dr. that treats all the Athletes in the colleges around here. Very into working out and sports. Not your average Dr.

Gotta go. Work starts early for me today.

Back from the Vet and it's bad news as suspected. She's in renal failure. They gave her an IV to pump her up with fluids and flush out her kidneys and some special food and pills to try, but he said if we don't notice improvement in a couple of days, she's not going to get better and we'll have to have her put to sleep. She is actually only 9. I'm very upset about this.
 
Char - Thanks! I loved my workout this morning. Could have went heavier but was kind of scared too.

Lora - I'm so sorry. How sad. I'll pray that she gets better.

Maniacs...

I just got back from bike ride. Did 12 miles. Wind is bad on the way back. Had a hard pedaling in first gear at times. Like doing low ends for the last mile...legs burning and bike barely moving. Had to get off of bike once. I got a great leg workout though! lol. Onto doing challenge circuit after lunch and then abs.

My heart is heavy for you right now with your cat. I am so feeling bad about it. I will be praying also that she pulls thru. Afterall, she is only 9, right? My FIL's dog had breast cancer several years ago and she is 17 now so don't give up. That dog is so old...she looks like she is in space most of the time and she can't hear either. His other dogs are 12 and 6.

Bionics,

Vioxx is used to treat arthritis conditions, etc. Later was found out to be bad for your heart. Glad I threw it out. I didn't have arthritic knees anyways. My knees started bothering me after I started running alot. That doctor just assumed I was getting old and feeble? LMAO! Glad you got a good doc.

Lora- I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. This must be so hard for you right now. Just try to give her as much love as you can.

Char- I know! That's what most Drs. think. If you are over 30 and have an injury, you need to stop exerting yourself and go on medication for the rest of your life, because you are old now. NUTS!

Debbie- How many do we have left on the checkin? LOL! It's been way to slow. I haven't seen Jani for awhile. Where did she disappear too?

Lora-Oh my goodness, what a morning you have had! So sorry about your cat. I am glad that you're home-she needs her mommy right now! i will pray for a speedy recovery!

Char-How do you walk a cat?

Deb-OMG! You are getting some great results. What do you think is contributing most to your strength gains? Have you changed anything? I think you are right...get in, work hard, get out!

Dallys-Forgot to mention yesterday...since Dr. diagnosed you as an athlete...I guess you'll be leaving us nerds behind for some Jocks! :) LOL! Sounds like you enjoyed your shopping trip!

Jen- I wish I really was an athlete.: I can try and I can dream.:)
I've been using Debs way of "Get in, work hard, and get out!" And I must say, I think I'm stronger and in better shape because of it. I'm not wearing myself out(or obsessing) and I am getting proper recovery time and I have been enjoying and looking forward to my workouts more. Debbie is not only strong, but she is smart!:)

LOL! Walk a cat...well first you get the figure eight collar and you just walk them...very very very slowly. :eek: My cat likes to take her time...eat grass..puke..walk..eat grass..puke..walk. It is quite relaxing watching her go thru these ordeals. Actually, I try not to let her eat too much grass and just pick her up at times. O.k., you talked me into it. While I let my food digest just a bit, I will take her out before I do my workout. lol

BTW, did you know Bionics throws sticks and rocks at vicious animals when on her bike? LMAO! I use mace and end up spraying myself in the face!!!! :+ :p Yup, we are part bad a$$ and part nerd. I like it that way.

Dallys - I haven't seen Janie in forever. Where is Anne? She checked in once this week and then disappeared again. And thank you for the compliment! :)

Jennifer - I've been training like this for a while now, like you said, get in, work hard and get out. Ever since I started training this way I have had some major strength and muscle gains. I find the body needs recover. I use to workout for 2 hours a day and although I got results, not muscle gain which is what I wanted. My strength increase has gotten me scared! LOL!
 
Done with circuit. Close to puke status again. lol.

Substituted DB Chest Fly for Bench and 75# and 10x's then 8x's
Pushups 20 then 12
Skipped Lat Pulldowns cuz I really worked my lats hard yesterday
Shoulder Press 20# db's 12x's both times
Lateral Raises 10's and 12x's
Hoover Squats with 40# db 4 sets/15 both times
Walking Lunges 20x's with 20# db's both times
One Arm Row 40# db 12x's then 10x's (back is getting stronger)
Hammer Curls 30# db's 10x's both times
Lying Tricep Ext with 12#db's and 10x's both times. These are getting easier. Should go up to 15's next time. Doing lots of dips has helped me bust thru plateau for tri's.

Still got abs and I am beat!

Hey guys. I did go for a walk mostly up hill, pushing a double stroller today with my friend. It was beautiful her today. I need to lift some weights today too. And abs. I have been in a much better mood today. I guess friends can do that for you.

Lora- I am so sorry. I feel terrible for you and your kitty. Iwill pray for her.

Deb- you are amazing, plain and simple

Dallys- like a kid in a candy store you were!!

Been working out at the gym and weekends at home.
Went shopping and got me some bras and new sports bras at VS.
The goofy sports bras will strangle you getting them on. Some man designed them. They do hold decently.
I am a little bigger than i expected. I am no longer Wallyworld bra shopping. LOL...The cost is killing me though.

I am about back to normal now. I did LIC in it's entirety except for the push ups. I can start them this week. Yes...I really enjoyed it.
Haven't done Step in 2 months.
Gonna do Body Max this weekend.

I gave up on the classes at the Y. They are really bad...
I have been daily doing 30 on the eliptical and 30 on the treadmill and weights. Tonite is legs...I feel really strong with the machines. I did 140# on leg press no problem. Lat pull downs are feeling funny yet so i lightened them up.Nice change.I still do alot of free weights. I like my dumbells better.The gym ones are big and bulky.


Hopefully the Gym B***** will not be hogging the Smith machine again for 2 hrs. to do legs.What can you do for 2 hrs??? I cannot wait to get back to par. I will really show her butt up.This one girl just thinks she is the hot child in the city and wants everyone to watch her. She is constantly flurting. It is too funny....She really thinks she is all that.You would just love it.Then she is so tanned and wrinkled from it that she looks horrible.
I go to the gym to workout and i am soaked when i leave. I do not go to pick up some man.

Dallys, i printed the cookies. Thay look good. Soething for the grandson.

So nice to hear from ya again. So I am trying the Jergens sunless tanning lotions (this lady doesn't want anymore wrinkles) lol. Works well so far. Impressed. Started with light version and will get medium version next time. Who goes to a gym to pick up a man? That's weird. First, you would smell (most likely when you are working hard) and I would be embarrassed to introduce myself when I am all sweaty and gross. I won't even go to the door to answer it if someone comes knocking and I am sweaty and gross. lol. Guess some must be desperate. Your Y stories of beastly women sounded very funny.

Char - Excellent workout girl, you are smokin'!!! I'll be doing abs tonight as well and a stretch. My hamstrings are so sore from yesterdays leg blaster workout.

Meg - Glad you enjoyed your walk! Its nice here today too, in the upper 60's.

Anne - Glad you are almost back to normal. I love VS bra's but they are expensive. They are the only ones I wear now. I will never go back to Wal Fart's crappy stretch bras!
