Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Wed June 27

I ended up doing Jillian Backside Circuit followed by about 10 minutes of cardio from The Firm Hardcore Fusion and then I did the ab/core segment from that DVD and the stretch. Workout was 1 hour 25 minutes and I burned 470 calories. I also did Yoga for Health - Headaches and Basics 45" (this is the set from the DDD sale).

I have a doctor's appointment this morning, thus the reason I got my butt out of bed early this morning.

I'm cutting back on my fruit intake. I think I'm eating too much. I've been eating about 3-4 pieces a day and I just read somewhere that you should limit it to 2 a day. I love fruit -- especially summertime fruit!

Dallys - did you try a DQ sugar free fudge bar yet.

Have great workouts everyone.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!!

Started P90X on Monday with son. Not sure he is gonna want to keep doing it though. Complaining alot. Yesterday did not get to workout. Had to leave very early in the morning to take FIL to hospital for biopsy and we were there for hours and hours. Got home just to tidy myself up and off to work I went.

Today doing shoulders/arm and ab ripper x.

Lora,

I love fruit too. I can eat watermelon all day long and sometimes I do. lol.

Toasty - I probably should tell you ....since you know about my bad habit of eating a couple caramel creams a day. I haven't been eating them lately. I actually went several days without....but then I had a strong craving and had a couple pieces the other day. Still - it's a big accomplishment for this sugar lover! I know you cringe at sugar....but I've got issues!! Are you proud of me??

This morning I did Cardio Coach #3 which lasted about 35 minutes and then I just did a steady state to finish the hour.

Workout was 1:03, was in my zone for 52 minutes and burned 358 calories.

Hope you all have great workouts!

Deb - I keep forgetting to mention this - That Incubus song that is current is called "Dig". Just thought I'd mention it since we spoke about it before. I really love that song ....even if it's a bit mellow for my liking. It has good lyrics. I really want to buy the album....but then my DH reminds me that they really just need to put aout a "Greatest Hits" complation!

Lora,

Good job on that! Girl at work said she wanted flat abs so I preaching to her. Said you have to watch what you eat if you want flat abs and do some "moves". A few of them are gonna bike with me next Tuesday as I will still have plyo's to do as well, but adding a little bike ride for them. Well we are suppose to go 18 miles. It will be neat to see if they can go the distance since they are not use to it. I hope so. Either way, I still have plyo's so I won't get behind.

Hi Ladies
Just finish Maximum intensity Strength. I've been doing the "oldies but goodies" workouts this week. They are just as good as the newer ones in fact i'm sore everyday
Have a good day everyone
Randi

Hello Everyone,

Sounds like you all are still at it! That's good, cause I've been slack. I've tried to get back into it, and have off and on. I've got rotations from both Charlotte and Debbie. Thanks for those. I've tried doing them, but it ain't happening right now. Health wise I haven't been up to doing a lot since November of last year, then in January I had a pretty tough time. I'm doing better so far, it's a long journey, but I'm hoping to get there better than before. I've just started doing Cathe's Slow and Heavy everyother day, then the between times I'm doing some type of cardio. Here lately it's been walking briskly, I can't run, knees no likey. I don't think I can do step anymore either which really sucks because I have so many of Cathe's DVD's that I don't want to part with, so maybe I can use them every once and a while. I came back for encouragement! I really need it. I'm committed myself to do it whether I feel up to it or not, even if it's just 15, 20, 30 minutes of something. The one struggle I really have had is with my food, my cholestorol is on the high side and I'm trying hard to get it down, that's one thing that has got me in gear again. I'm gonna commit to checking in everyday. Got to get going and get my heart healthy again.
Thanks for letting me rant! Thanks for the support! :)

Morning Maniacs! Not sure what workout I'm doing today. May just go for mtb. ride later.

Lora- No, I haven't tried that DQ bar yet. I forgot about it and now you remind me again. LOL!:p I love fruit and couldn't cut back on the seasonal fruit! It only comes around once a year, so cut back in the winter!!! Fresh Corn is here too, I have to have that! Still waiting for fresh tomatoes.

Toasty- I hope your DS keeps doing P90X. I'm curious to see how he does. My son-in-law is still doing it. He is in phase 2 now and he's in a medium T-shirt now, was in a small (thought he could never gain muscle, so he's very happy!). My daughter is also doing it. She is showing improvements too, but frustrated that she's not getting as fast as results as him. I thought you only worked weekends. Are they giving you more hours? It's great you have made some friends and they want to ride with you.

Randi- Great you are doing the older workouts. I don't think I have MIS anymore. I sold some of the older ones.:(

Debbie- Great workout as usual.

Sandy- Hang in there. You can do this. Just keep checking in and think one day at a time. Eating is the harder part for me. I can do the workouts, eat great for awhile and then something happens and I start to lose it. So, you are not alone. This checkin has made me much more consistant. I hate to checkin and have nothing to report. LOL! But, I do it anyway and when I read everyones post and eventually get myself back in to gear. :)

Gotta go eat some breakfast...

Hi Dally's

Thanks for the encouragement, glad to know that I'm not alone. It's gonna be hard, but it will be a great reward!

Thanks! :)

Question for all you who bike ride. I've got a family reunion coming up in VA. I think it's in Marion, never been there. There is a trail called Creeper Trail I think it's in Damascus, it's 34 miles but we're taking the half way mark and doing 17 miles. Any of you heard or rode this trail. They say it's an easy trail. For me it will probably be hard, since I don't bike. I'm really looking forward to it though, because they have hiking too, and I love to do that, or should I say I used to love to hike.
Thanks!

So sorry to "butt in" here as I have never posted on the Hardcore Thread (oh, I've thought about it a bunch of times because you ladies are SO inspirational but I guess I've just never felt like I could keep up... or like I'm not "worthy" or something... haha). Anyway, I just HAD to post a reply to Sandy becase I lived in Marion, VA for several years & graduated high school there. I still live nearby... somewhat... & know many people who bike & hike the Creeper Trail regularly. Many of these people are not very fit so I think it should be fine for you too. I've never biked or hiked it, although I've been to Damascus & also to a place called Backbone Rock (another lovely place where people repel - maybe you'll get a chance to visit there too?) but I understand that it's really beautiful & I'm sure you'll love it. Wow, small world, huh? Hope you have a wonderful time during your visit!

Hi to all the other Hardcore Ladies! I hope you all didn't mind me popping in here...

ETA - I hope you didn't think I was saying you aren't fit... I was just saying that many of the people who frequent the Creeper Trail aren't really very fit so I think people of all abilities could enjoy it. (Maybe I'm being a bit too sensitive but I sure wouldn't want to offend anyone my first time here...)

Hi Kel,

Thanks so much for the information! That's great to know, I've visited the site and it does look beautiful. No offense taken whatsoever, I am out of shape cardio vascular wise, but hope to be in better shape by September, that's when we'll be going up there. I'm in SC. It is a small world!
Thanks so much for chimming in on this, I new someone out there would know something about it. Glad to know it's no killer, since it will be my first time visiting it! September should be a great time to go too!
:)

I finished my workout. I will have to go back and read the posts later as I promised my grandchildren that we would go get the ice cream they earned reading books before my granddaughter goes home. I started with Jari's Ripped to the Core, then I did Sharon Twombly's All Body Cardio skipping the w/up. I was drenched by the time I was done. The humidity is very high here. I think it will never stop raining. BBL

Kel - nice to see you over here. Feel free to check in daily! We'd love to have you.

Sandy - nice to hear from you. So sorry that you've been sick. Hopefully, we can all help you.

Dallys - How many weeks are you going to do Circuits? Do you like that Incubus song, Dig? Have you heard Tesla's version of Thank You by Led Zeppelin yet? It's really good. They play it on the Digital Cable Rock station. I always listen to it when I'm on the computer.

Toasty - thanks for saying I did good..........it helps me to fight my cravings! Those ladies will be dying trying to keep up with the MIGHTY TOASTY!!

Diane Sue - what did you think of Criss Cross Cardio yesterday? I always get so nervous when you try one that I say I like.

Sandy,

I am gonna have to figure out where Marion is since it is in Virginia. Curious about the bike trail. I can bike up in Skyline Drive if I wanted to as it is near me. Haven't had much time lately. I think next week will be better.

Lora,

I am not so mighty on a bike. I go slow, but I make all the hills and in 5th gear too. I don't like to adjust my gears as I get a better workout like that, but when it comes to fast moving..forget it. lol My best speed was doing 25 miles in 1 hr 56 mins last week. The week before I did 30 miles in 3 hours and 10 mins. lol.

Just seen where Marion is...southwestern part of Virginia...way down from me. Well lets see I could bike 150 miles and get there. lol.

Lora,

Hey, thanks...I'm sure I'll get what I need from you guys.

Charlotte,

I'm not familiar with VA at all, I'm really looking forward to it. I think the trail is acutally in Damascus, I think that it's closer to the NC border, because from SC it's only 3hrs 40 mins. Oh my goodness Sky line sounds like it's straight up! Let me know how that goes if you go there. :)

Good morning peeps!

This morning I rode - alone. :( One gal is leaving for vacation in the morning and is packing and the other one is pregnant but wants to ride but easy rides. I'm torn b/c I don't want to do easy rides all the time, as it will be to easy for me to lose my speed. I suggested we all 3 ride together on Thursdays for an easy day, since those are necessary in any training. I don't want to hurt her feelings, as she rode with me the past few years even though I was slower than she was. But then she just goes out and does more rides - and fast rides in the evenings b/c her DH works long hours. I don't have that much time to ride so I have to make the most of the time I'm on the bike. She's a good friend so it's hard. And you've gotta watch those pregger hormones! :) Anyway I rode hard today trying to get the fastest average I could get. I rode for an hour and 22 minutes (I think) and went 22 miles. I have to really slow down in my neighborhood b/c I live on a dirt road so I really should stop my computer b/c it throws off my average.

Why can't I write a short post???

Happy Wednesday!!!

Suz

Lora- I planned on doing 6 weeks of circiuts. This weeks schedule is so scattered with my DD here, so I might not doing any this week. But, I'm telling myself the break will be nice. I tell ya, I'm feeling aweful guilty about breaking up my rotation though. I'm hoping to at least ride my bike some this week.

Suz- I'd ride with you if I could! I'd try to keep up with you.:)
Wish I had a road bike. I'm afaid to get one because then I'd have to go with Dh and I could never keep up with him, so I'd probably cuss (I'm good at that when I'm frustrated) and cry the whole way.:p
