Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Wed July 23

Ally - I am really enjoying the TT. One because there is more lifting and two they are intense and get the HR, without those over the top Metabolic circuits!

Debbie - I will have to say that I think you should go more by RPE rather than HR. Your history with HRM makes RPE seem like a better intensity gage. BTW, did you get your versagripps? Do you like them? I absolutely love mine. Those lunges with 40's would be impossible without them!! :D

Is anyone else as lost on this forum as I am with all the multiple pages and stuff? And the new notice system sucks!

Hey again! I've been playing around with the forum and have befriended all of you (didn't like how my profile said, "Sunnyside has not made any friends yet).:D:cool: Not sure how it will work or what it means.... You are my friends, right?:p

ATG...ass to grass...so you guys can squat down that deeply? That's awesome; I'm pretty sure I'm not that flexible. Used to be more flexible back in high school when I was on dance team, but alas....I'd still say I'm more flexible than average especially in my hips, but I do have some areas of tightness. It doesn't seem to improve unless I can get in yoga 4x a week. That doesn't usually happen since yoga is the first thing on the chopping block when time is short, but so far this week I've done yoga twice, so maybe this will be a good week for that.
This is such a cool check in to read; hearing about all your workouts is totally motiavating. I was gonna workout this evening, but now I want to workout now, lol!
Cat seems to be normal now...

Linda - No, I haven't bought the VersaGripps yet. I just can't afford them and the price went up! Yikes! I want them bad along with handles for my bar so I can do t-bar rows. What does RPE mean???

Dallys - I tried to put you in as my friend but can't figure out how too.

Diana: ^^^^^^^^^5 on the workout, girl you rocked it! Nice.......

Menopause, HELP I have insomniaBIG TIME” I don't get night sweats anymore. I can tell some story about sweat its EVIL ;) Any who on me lunch went to Walgreens talked to the Pharmacist and she recommend (and I brought) Benadryl take one every 4 to 6 hours. Heck, if I get 4 straight hours A MEN!. I’m going to take one and see how it goes.

Truth is, I need an “Ancient China Doctor” LOL Really need herbal teas. While at Walgreens I was talking to a lady not even 40 going through. She got it bad, look like she wanted to cry I told her it'll gets better. I know……man oh man, do I know. When I first started I thought my life STOPPED my first year was HELL but it got better. Ooh we, didn't mean to say all that  Thanks for listening guy, can you tell me need rest:p Have a wonderful evening all

Debbie - They make handles for barbells so you can do t-bar rows? Didn't know that, pretty cool! You have to get versagripps, using them to hold those 40's this morning and even the 47 for rows, was sweet! I'd be lost without mine now! RPE just stands for Rate of Perceived Exertion. As long as I feel like I am working hard that's all that matters!

Teddy - woke up last night at 1 am and was unable to get back to sleep. Took one Benedryl and was out in about 20 minutes. So it works. Just don't take too much at first becuase it has the tendency to really knock you out and make you feel loopy in the morning when you have to get up. Sometimes all I will take is half a pill.

Teddygirl - They told you to take Benedryl? You might want to be careful with that. It will dry up your sinuses big time and if you don't have sinus problems, it can cause other problems. That's not a good thing. It will make you sleep, though. Stuff knocks me on my @ss.

Linda: Yoooooou mean, I’m going too get some SLEEP tonight, YAY! Really tho, thanks for the heads up, Woman, if I woke up once a night, that’d be marvelous, I take sleeping pills at 8pm like clock work every night, I wake up at 10,11,12,1 and once or twice again before alarm goes off. That’s sick! Enjoy your evening. I have my client tonight, actually he’s here with me at work I pick him up @ 4 and we are headed to McDonald’s.

Debbie: EXACTLY, I thought the same thang too. I question her when she said Benadryl. I'm going to make doctor appt tomorrow HELLO DOC  and get the GOOD stuff night...........night..........:D

Teddygirl, have you ever tried a homeopathic sleep aid? My mom has one she uses. I don't think it's menopause that keeps her from sleeping, just her crazy graveyard post office job that's got her internal clock all messed up. She has some repetetive use injuries from that job, too; those make it hard for her to sleep sometimes. Anyway, I've not tried the homeopathic thing myself, although I'm planning on it soon because my fall schedule includes a couple classes I know from experience I won't be able to get much sleep before. Basically, this stuff just chills you out, I guess. If you think it might be worth a try, I'll get some more info on it from my mom.

Just finished Butts and Guts standing along with the stability ball abs. Last time I did that my booty was sore for a couple days; I'm sure this time will be the same.

As a fellow insomniac....................who rarely gets more than 3-4 hours of sleep - try Calms Forte from Walgreen's. It's a homeopathic sleep aid. I use that, as well as Valerian Root, Melatonin and when all else fails, my Rx of Ambien. I've only had a couple of night sweats. I just had the test done to see if I'm in menopause yet and I'm just starting. I'm having some side effects....but it would be TMI to speak of it here. LOL.

I did a second cardio segment today.......if you want to call it that. HR was very low. Did Melt It Off in 10.....and it was NOT intense....more like total body moves.........then I did 10 Min' Trainer Cardio......and didn't put the cardio belt on .......used the med ball. HR was only in the steady state zone. Burned 214 calories in 30".

Now this thread is REALLY difficult to go back and read previous posts from the day.........sucks. I'm not used to this new forum at all.

Lora, after you press "post reply", and you see where you are supposed to type out your post, scroll down a bit and you should see all the posts from today.:)

Hi Maniacs!

Popping in to say hi peeps! It's only been a year or so since my last check in LOL. But good to see you all remain so dedicated...and that Toasty, Dallys, Diane, Lora and Debbie are still here. Does Suz and Anne, or meg still check in?
Anyone good to see you are all still as hardcore as ever and that the circle of maniacs has widened!
I'm making a concerted effort to dedicate more time for workouts so I hope checking in again will be more motivating. I'm considering another round of the Tony and the X.
I'm going to go check out all the new features of this new website. looks like the workout manager should be pretty cool too.
Will try and post a picture of our newest addition,..Mugsy

Amber

Amber, good to have you check in again:) Meg, Suz, and Anne all check in once in awhile.

Good evening guys. Looks like you all did really well today. Me...not so good. Not sure if my antibiotics are messing with me or what. Started with WICKED pains and aches in my legs all night last night and half the day today. I couldn't walk last night. It hurt to stand. And woke up with a chest cold and feeling very dehydrated. Weird.... Chest was burning all morning. Miserable. But I will get better damnit lol!!
Just wanted to check in. My legs are still kinda sore tonight, but much better then last night. Going to bed early...hoping for a better day tomorrow!
Goodnight everyone!

Hi Amber! Good to hear from you!
Hey there, Meg!

I've befriended both you guys. I'm like a stalker-befriender today! LOL!

I hope Suz gets on here soon and I swear I've seen a post by Anne somewhere. I hope she post soon too.
