Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did Star Trainers Strength. The Rob Glick segment and Violet Zaki segment. I also did Rob's 10 minute ab segment. The first workout was all standing and was mostly compound moves, so the HR stayed elevated. 2nd workout was again compound moves, but then went to the floor so didn't keep the HR as high. I used weights for the ab moves. Workout was 63" and I burned 408 calories.

I also did 30" seated and twisting yoga asanas with Lynne Watkins followed by Ravi & Ana's Quick Fix for Headaches 6"

I meant to mention this effective tip Mitch Gaylord (who's a really good instructor) gave the other day during that Melt it Off workout. While doing plank....if you put hands out to the front rather than just below your shoulders, it really makes the abs work harder......he calls it the "gold medal" advanced way to do them. My abs got sore from his ab work and that's quite a feat for me!! My abs take a lot to get sore. I'm enjoying the DOMS I've been getting since I've been off of my Alwyn rotation.

I'm off work today cuz I work on Saturday. Eating my steel cut oatmeal and blueberries and then I'm gonna get a Lushie Bath with my Psychodelic bubble bar.

Have great workouts everyone.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

I have been spending about an hour trying to get my picture to upload. I don't know how to manually reduce the size. I have tried photobucket, but they want you to sign up for nintendo for $9.99 a month. So I tried Tinypic and it is not tiny enough so I am:mad:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just don't have the patience. Maybe tonight I will get on here and sort it all out.

Today I am gonna work my abs for 40 mins since I have not been able to work abs much due to my chronic neck issue. All is healed and well now so I got some catching up to do. I will do a ton of stretches too and continue with ice therapy. Maybe walk in town after I get off work.

Morning, :D

Today, I’m functioning on 3 hours of sleep. I could not sleep to save me life last night. I been up since 3:30, this morning, man oh man, I tell ya.

Lora: Nice work!

Forearms

Debbie,

I'm popping out of long time lurkdome after I read your comment yesterday about close grip pull ups and problems with your forearms. The same thing has happened to me. My performance on cg pull ups is definitely limited by the strength in my forearms. I pushed it a while ago and was sorry for several weeks. If it wasn't for the forearm fatigue, I could do more cg pull ups than wg ones, but I limit mine because I don't want another strain. I thought it was just a personal imbalance, but it is interesting to see that you are having the same trouble. I have tried playing with the grip width a little and it does help some. For me, there is definitely more of an inward rotation of the forearm with cg pull ups because I've been going closer than shoulder width. I think I'll try around shoulder width to minimize that rotation the next time and see if it helps.

This morning I had a puke status workout. I chose Cardio Coach #8 and did really well with it. Only thing, this use to be a 400 calorie burn for me, now it's not. And it's SO HARD for me to get my HR up anymore. I really pushed myself and was out of breath before I could get my HR in my upper level 3 zone. My legs were burning and getting really tired and yet I still could not get my HR where I wanted it to be until Challenge #3. And that is when I thought I was going to hurl. Weird.

Cardio stats:

1 hour
46 minutes in zone
388 calories burned
3.6 miles travelled

Char - Download Irfanview if you can find it. You can size pictures in there easily.

Morning Crazies! Today will be 3 of the 10 min. trainers and maybe a bike ride later if I can find the time. Been hard lately.

Lora- enjoy your day off and that lushie bath!

Toasty- Listen carefully here. This will get you an avatar. Go to this website http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/ ....go to browse and find your picture...Change the avatar size (pixels) to 80...it's right there below where is says browse...push resize....then pick your picture and copy the address...NOw, you go to the Cathe forum and find your UserCP at the top left of the page...go to edit options...go to edit avatar...put your copied address in. Should work. Fingers crossed!

Hermia- Hope your cat is ok!

Teddy- Sorry you couldn't sleep darnit! Did you see my post yesterday about the pancakes?

Debbie- Great workout. Lower calorie burns and lower HR mean you're in better shape! Great if you were out there competing or trying to conquer something, cuz it would be easier for you and you'd be more efficient at your task...not so great if you're after a calorie burn...means you have to work harder for that! I wouldn't worry about the calorie burn and be proud of the great shape you've gotten yourself in.:D Seriously, visualize people running way back behind you with their hr's all high and they are struggling to keep up with you. There you are ahead of them with your efficient heart and everything, crossing the finish line.:p

Later peeps...gotta go workout!

Dallys: I like the pp & jelly ideal, that sounds yummy. Thank You! I’m going to make another batch this evening and a pot of turkey spaghetti, darn, would had made it last night, but I was out of wheat pasta. Have a great day;)

Debbie: Nice work;)

Tracy - Just seen your post about your problem with your forearms. Isn't that weird? My forearms actually still feel hot right now. And I did pullups yesterday. When I do regular chins I'm fine. I don't get it. I use to do wide grips but stopped doing those because it hurt my elbows and shoulders. I can't win!!!

Dallys - I know what you say is right, but I really struggle to get a good calorie burn and it is so disheartening to see my numbers dwindle. Any other normal person would be estatic! LMAO!

Lora - Nice workout and enjoy your day off!

Toasty - what is an ATG squat? I like that cycle workout you did. I did all that stuff yesterday for my glutes and it was really intense - and today I am only sore in my triceps!!! I really wanted my butt to be sore.

I am back from the library. I forgot to post my calories for today. Low impact Circuit cardio lower and Kelly Coffey cardio Sculpt lower and cardio calories was 675 burned. Weights and yoga was 360. Max hr was 155 during cardio. My right shoulder hurts today so I had to struggle through my workout. I probably should have just skipped it.

Debbie, I don't know how it works but if I drink some coffee about 30 minutes before my workout I get my hr up more.

Teddy, when I went through menopause I started rarely sleeping all night. Then started waking up having night sweats. I used to sleep with tons of blankets and it just doesn't happen anymore. Nothing ever went back to normal and it has been 10 years:0

I have night sweats also. I read that wearing socks to be helps. Apparently if your feet are warm it triggers your internal thermostat to cool you down. Haven't tried it yet.
