I'm off to do Barry's Arms & Abs and maybe some Kundalini Yoga. Not sure if I'll add any cardio or Lotte Berk on yet. Will be back later.
 
Good Morning,
Today I will do a treadmill run, some abs and stretch/yoga. I am hoping to hear back from my vet sometime today. I also really need to go to the grocery store. I hope you all have good workouts.

Jen, I can't tell you much about requiring more sleep. I don't usually sleep a full night. If I sleep w/o waking up usually 7-8 hrs leaves me plenty energetic. It always has. Have you altered your diet any? Sometimes diet can leave you low on energy. Maybe you need some slow burning carbs right after your workout and earlier in the day to keep your energy levels up since you are depleting them when you workout.

This morning I worked Shoulders and Abs. Was suppose to do a 1/2 hr. of cardio but didn't have time. Those 3 minute rests really take up a lot of time. This is what I did:

Shoulders:
Arnold Press: 22's - 2 sets/12 reps; 1 set/10 reps
Wide Grip Upright Rows: 50# - 3 sets/12 reps
Lateral Raise: 15's - 3 sets/12 reps
Bent Over Lateral Raise: 12's - 1 set/12 reps; 15's - 2 sets/12 reps

Traps:
**Dumbbell Shrugs: 35's - 1 set/12 reps; 40's - 2 sets/12 reps
**I know women shouldn't do heavy shrugs but I'm really liking my trap development lately. Got that cut that separates the shoulders from the traps and I like it.

Ab:
Cardio & Weights Ab work

Workout was about an hour and 15 minutes.

Deb-I really like doing dumbell shrugs! They just feel good. I also seem to get well defined in the same area-I like that cut, lady-like or not! :)

Diane Sue-Good diet insight! What are some examples of slow burning carbs? (I am guessing something fiberous.) Good Luck with Puddle's results today. Hope the vet can figure something out.

I ended up doing Barry's Arms & Abs plus the non-treadmill cardio. I added on 10 minutes of cardio from the Biggest Loser with Bob and then I was going to do Bar Method, but did Cardio Barre instead - which was 40 minutes of a waste of time. Not near as effective as Lotte, Fluidity or Bar Method! I also did Yoga Beauty Body with Ravi & Ana 45". Total workout without the Barre & Yoga was 1 hour 14 minutes and I burned 373 calories...........however, it doesn't really matter what the heck I burned today, as nothing can redeem me from the 3 cookies I ate yesterday (large cookies with icing ......yummmm.......but ugh!!!). The last of my Easter splurge (I hope).

Diane Sue - very sorry to hear that Lyme's disease isn't ruled out yet. I don't really know what the treatment options are for that, but it doesn't sound good. This is just terrible. The poor little puppy. I was feeling bad for Brooklyn yesterday cuz she was not feeling well from her rabies shot! Gosh. That's nothing compared to what your poor baby is going thru. I hope things end up okay!

Jen- another one that can't give any advice on sleep, as I sleep deprive myself constantly to try and make myself tired enough to be able to fall asleep at night. I'm a very hyper person. I only average 4-5 hours of sleep a night. If I get 6 a couple nights in a row, I'll be up for 2 nights straight. I'm like the freakin' energizer bunny......until I start falling asleep at the dinner table and think I'm going to be able to sleep at night.........but then when it's time to fall asleep, I'm wide awake!! LOL! Maybe your just tired from stress at work. You have been working long hours and this is your busy time, right?? (we posted at the same time.....yes, back to barry's...I have my schedule broken up a bit right before and after the full body workout briefly. I'll be doing them back to back for a few days now. I didn't do all the burpees and mountain climbers today, as my shoulders don't want to hear it!

Deb - Gosh....DB shrugs with 35's!! I'd die. I'm not even allowed to do them with any weight due to my injury. I'd be in a super spasm if I did those!! Yikes!! My Physical Therapist used to tell me my traps were very developed when I used to get therapy....however, I think he just was mistaking severe spasms for muscles!!! LOL. My traps are always like rocks and spasmed.
 
Hi Maniacs! I'm sitting here mentally fighting with myself as to if I workout this morning or after work.

Jen- I'm one of those that gets 8 or 9 hrs. of sleep. I get groggy if it's much less than that. Execise or not, that's my sleeping pattern. Don't worry about posting late. I think alot of us catch up with yesterdays posts.

Debbie- Great workout! Lift how you want, that's what I say.
Everyone has a look they like for themselves. Pfffhtooie, to what others think.:)

Diane Sue- I bet you are going crazy worrying about Puddles. Poor lil' guy.

Lora- Hope your kitty is feeling better.

Today was sort of a light workout today All Step cardio and abs, PS Legs floor work only.
My shoulders are fried from yesterdays workout.
Off to work running late againx(

Hey Maniacs!!!

I am at library!!! lol. Two more days to go before move!!!!!!!!!! Everything going fine. Just finding out stuff is more then the first quotes we have been getting on floors and such. Frustrating, but will manage. I AM READY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't been slacking in workouts. I am doing shoulders/chest/back today. I worked out biceps/triceps yesterday and still curling the 40's. Ya'll look like your still going strong too. Just wanted to say "hey". Be back on Monday.

Lora - I did two sets with 40's. I like doing them, like Jen said, they feel good. :)

Jen - I agree. Now if my husband starts complaining, then I'll have to back off. But so far I can't beat him off me so I guess all is good.

Just getting my internet up and running!

I did PP and a 4 mile run today. Would have liked to have done 6 miles but the little guy was hungry so thats all I can do.

Someone fill me in on where Charlotte is going? Did she buy a new home, build one or is she moving to a new State?

Ladies, I had a great WO today! I did Imax2 and abs and stretch from C&W. Even after taking a bit of a break from cardio, I still got it!! I was pleased. I was going to do some yoga, but needed to finish up.

Char-- hey! Glad you popped in!

Lori- yes, CHar bought a new home, but it is only a few minutes from where she is now. Good WO!

Deb- that is funny about your DH!! LOL!

Dallys- I wish I could get that much sleep!

Lora- any more news on the job front?

Randi- that was a light WO?? LOL!

Deb- LOL!!! I'm sure you COULD beat him off of you if you wanted to!! sorry, had to comment on that ....even if it wasn't directed at me. That's too funny. My DH saw your picture one day a while back and commented on how good your muscle tone was! He doesn't pass out compliments too often!

Meg - Nope....nothing happening in jobville! Everything that's in the paper has something I'm not qualified for. However, there was a Medical Biller job online today for a local Ambulance place. I sent my resume. I did billing and insurance back in the 80's....but the way I see it is a job is a job....you still have to learn it no matter what it is. I just hope I get the chance to learn something soon! Here's the kicker! Just today online, there is a job for a busy local downtown Law Firm. The ad reads almost identical to the job I got fired from. There is a blurb in the ad about client contact....blah....blah...blah....and Wordperfect skills a must. I just KNOW it's that same freakin' law firm. It's been 3 months since they hired their last flunkee.....so I'm sure they probably just fired her the other day cuz she didn't make her 90 days probation. They probably gave her a probationary period so they wouldn't have to pay another employee unemployment! My DH says I should send a
"dummy" resume just to prove that it's them hiring again!

Last night was 1 hr cardio. 5 miles eliptical 2 miles treadmill. I was getting looks for being on more than an hour. \
We are working out at my house tonite.
I am going to kill my sis.
B&G standing and GS Standing.
SHE HAS NEVER DONE CATHE..HEHEHEH...
Gym too packed. Every machine was filled, benches, everything..
Gotta get back to work.

Hey Ladies!

Very late checking in today. Been pretty busy today.

This morning I ran 5.25 miles on my treadmill and at lunch I did some core work.

Jen - I think you get more restful sleep when you workout so I could see why you may be requiring more at this point.

Debbie - Long rests are very hard for me. It's hard for me to stay still that long. I usually have to do something in between when an workout calls for long rest.

Dallys - Guess I need to go see the announcement!! Stay focused...you're almost there!!

Anne - Now I remember why I don't like gyms!!

Lori - Don't know if you question was answered, but Toasty is moving into a new home not very far away from where she is now.

Meg - Good workout!! You NEVER lose it...don't forget that!!

Lora - Good luck with the job hunt.

I just got done doing Crunch Fat Burning Blast Cardio. I got this a long time ago once when I ordered Jari Love workouts from Amazon. Boy, was it fun. I think I'll do this a lot more often. It has Latin Grooves 1 & 2 with a blast segment and then Thai Boxing 1 & 2 with a blast segment and then Sweat 1 & 2 with a blast (which was just hi/lo). It was so much fun although the instructor's voice grated on my nerves at first, but once I got going with the workout, I didn't notice it. I also did Stretch & Soothe off my Yoga to Go DVD 20".

Now I'm trying to make up some goodies to sell on Ebay this weekend. It's a never ending job! I've got to do something to bring some spending money in the door!

I'm worried that Tracey missed my order when shipping. It seems everyone has gotten their Sweatfest DVDs and I ordered as soon as the preorder was live. I've emailed her, but just got some generic response saying my DVD probably went out on Monday. It's Thursday tomorrow and I don't live that far from Tracey! I guess I'll just have to wait longer.

The new Cathe announcement sounds great. The upcoming series sound a lot more along the lines of what I was hoping for. I'm pscyhed for everything except the Rhythmic step like workout and Travel workout....since I can't do body weight moves and I never did like Rhythmic step.

Can't WAIT for the boxing series!! It sounds freakin' amazing.....and the split routine and the Slow & Heavy type one!!! Whoa!!!!
 
I did 6 miles on the treadmill, the Cathe's Butts and Guts abs with 5# ankle weights and my 1# jolies, plus 10# dumbbells, I finished off with Eoin Finn's PY4H Bliss. I have not heard anything from the vets office so I guess it will be tomorrow. Puddle is about the same. Kept her food and medicine down this morning.

Lora, how is Pandora doing after those shots? Sorry you did not get the Tracey workouts yet. I bet you do soon. I have done most of Tracey's sculpt workout and she can make you burn. I think about half of it uses a lot of non weight work though. As I said yesterday she uses the bosu in the balance moves and there are not a lot of substitutes. All in all I think it is a good workout and the ab section is great.

Debbie, good for you getting definition in your traps. I think no one has the same goals or likes and dislikes as far as build. If you like it then go for it:) I like the definition I have in the shoulders where I can see the separation in the muscles when I raise my arms. I have definitely been getting some doms on this rotation. My Bowflex has been beneficial for some of the moves. I have dropped about 3# for some reason.

Charlotte, good luck with the move. We will be glad when you are back next week.

Jen, yes a slow burning carb would be something with lots of fiber and not too much sugar. I like to eat half an apple or a few nuts which have protein, fiber and some carbs in them. Even a protein smoothie with some berries can help your blood sugar levels. Check Sometimes if I am really hungry after a workout I will even throw some oatmeal into my smoothie. An apple sliced with peanut butter would be good.

Diane Sue - do you mean Brooklyn?? *smile* ....I even call her Pandora sometimes! She's better now. She's been a lot more active today. She's really getting more comfortable around here. She's a trip. I just love her so much. My DH is getting very attached to her lately also. It took him a bit longer since he works all day and hasn't spent as much time at home with her. He was babying the heck out of her tonight. She can be such a sweetie and look at you all loving one minute and the next minute she's tearing all over the place. I love it in the morning when she does her morning aerobics with the family! :) She keeps jumping up on the rebounder with me .........not good when I'm doing flying jacks and tuck jumps.
 
Yes, Lora I meant Brooklyn. I am so glad you got her. I am sure she is a lot of fun to watch. We get so attached to our pets quickly. They each have their own personalities that make them special:) Hopefully you can get her to not get in the way when you are working out. I don't allow my dogs in the workout room so they look around the corner at me when I am working out. If I do something different Puddle will bark. I was doing the rotation with 100 jumps using a jump rope and every time I would hit that part she would start barking:) It was funny.
