Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Thursday Jan 11

Good morning!

Now how on earth is it that it's only 9:30am here and there are already so many posts! :) I turned off my alarm this morning and woke up late. x( I only ended up doing the first 45 minutes of Yoga X. Darn! I'm doing doubles alright - the first half of my workouts in the morning and the second half at night. :p I think I ditched the doubles idea when we decided not to go to Mexico.

Randi - Glad you liked dog training. :) Sounds like a good workout planned.

Meg - Sounds like we both woke up late. Darn it!

Char - My biceps aren't sore either. WTH? Last week I could hardly move my arms on Thursday. I like the second half of that yoga SO MUCH BETTER than the first!

Debbie - So glad your neck's better! Great workout!

Storm - You should see these guys on P90X shaking and sweating using the bands. AMAZING! Gives me a whole new respect for bands!

Missy - Here's a trick - open 2 browsers and go back and forth between them. One just for viewing and the other for posting. Works for me. ;)

Diane Sue - I hope that when I'm retired I'm as disciplined as you to get my workouts done EARLY. Have you watched The Dog Whisperer? It's a great show. I've probably already said that. Season 1 is on DVD and would be great to rent with the grandkids. They'd learn so much about working with the dogs.

Amber - I just can't seem to do those corn cobs assisted. For some reason I don't get anything out of them. And obvioulsy I can't do them unassisted. Are you using the bar or your pulldowns? You're an animal doing 100#. I read that so I had to bump it up yesterday. I had been doing 90# but this phase went back to the bar and then decided to do the first round with the bar and the second round with pulldowns for a better workout since I'm so wiped. Of course that didn't work with yesterday's workout. But 100# is TOUGH! Who knew??? Funny about Tim Horton's. I LOVE the Black-Eyed Peas.

Oh, please pray for my dad. As you know he cares for his wife with Alzheimers. She can't walk or feed herself. He has to do EVERYTHING for her (change her Depends, has a lift to get her out of her hospital bed in the living room into a wheelchair that she sits in all day long, etc.). He is having pains in his chest. Went to the doc. Did an ekg. He has always had an irregular heartbeat and so they couldn't read it - didn't know if it was bad or good so they're sending him to a heart specialist tomorrow. I have no idea in the world what we'll do if something happens to him before her. They live in Washington. The guy who teaches our Alzheimer's class here told me that very often the caretaker goes before the person with Alzheimer's b/c of the stress. :(

Thanks suz...just a title and risk, but it's nice to finally be there at 40 after 10 years of college and 3 careers working 2-3 jobs at a time. I thought the day would never come, now I'm bored again.

And...not even trying pullups yet...want to get closer to pulling down my body weight (and I aint' close yet). I just pretend I'm chewing on the lat pull down bar...HAHAHAHA...

Amber - you're being too humble. That's a biggie, I know. I'm listening to Surfacing. :) So what's next if you're bored? Judge?

Oh - that's a great goal. Pulling down your body weight. That would make sense on being able to do pullups. You're so smart. So 5 more pounds to go? :p

O.k. FIL wanted to look at a few more homes. Manipulated him to go with me in my car as he was on his way to van. lol. I tell him I know where the places are, he doesn't. he he. I always manage to find a way to get my way. Anyhow, he didn't find anything. He did find one home he would consider, but still needs to go to Arizona, Texas and Florida too to look.

Getting ready to eat lunch...chili, 2 eggs, wheat thins, salad and yogurt with nuts then Yoga.

I'm at lunch right now, so thought I'd pop in.

Amber - You made Partner? That's great. Congrats. I've been meaning to mention, not a single woman in this law firm. All Men!! I did billing yesterday (still doing it) and can't believe the amount of money I was requesting. It makes me feel good to know that I work at a place that actually pulls money in and is not ready to go out of business (like my previous employer). Other advantages too.......I don't have to buy my own pens or tissues either (and if I drank pop, it would be free)! LOL. Plus this place is laid out, as far as desks, decor...etc.

Suz- I never was able to feel those corn cobs either. I did them with the band in my door attachment and I think I even remember hurting myself doing them so I quit doing them.

Re: the Complex step roll.....I'm hoping it will make my mind sharper. I need to be on my toes here. Lots going on (and Jay's not even here) and my brain doesn't work right. I know Amber posted that article about stress and memory, etc...but I swear I'm a little incapacitated in the brain cell area due to my past - no joke. I'll try to utilize what cells i have left to their fullest potential though!!

I hope I can do some yoga or maybe practice some step tonite....although I don't know if I should do the latter or I might not be able to sleep....on the other hand, I'll probably come home again and pass out at the computer after I eat, like I've been doing ever since I started this job! :*

Better go back to work now. See everyone later.

Charlotte- Just checked my tracking for Wolf Moon/Lyacon and it FINALLY arrived. I can't wait to get home now.

Anybody read eat for living? I think that is the subject of one of the newest checkin's, the author's first book was body for life.

Anyway I just picked it up at meijers looks good..I'll let ya all know how it is.

Lora, yep partner. No women??? That is a little off..we have 2 females 3 males, (both women now are partners). And yes...lush lifestyle at the office, gourmet coffee, cappuccino maker, pop, candy and snacks are free and everywhere. I can't believe you had to provide your own pens before..

Char..it sounds like you and FIL have found some common ground, maybe you motivate him a bit heh? The papertowels for the dog's butt?

I finished my workout. I did Low Max through interval 5, then did the gliding cardio only off of the disc this has gliding moves for the legs and I wore my weighted gloves, then I did the leg segments of p90X legs and back and added 3 sets of 12 50# hack squats, I did Ab ripper X adding some resistance and Amy's APX core using 12# and my gliding discs, finished with the stretch off of the gliding cardio workout.

Finished my WO. I did Jari Love's Slim and Lean UB tracks, B&G abs, then I did Self's Slim and Sleek fast, cardio and stretch. This was fun, not Cathe's intensity, but a nice 20 min add on. WO was just over an hour. I thought I was gonna die during Jari's bench press. Man, it never ends. Good good burn though.

DS- I did want a little more of a WO today, but I didn't want to take up my whole afternoon. I have to work tonight. Someone mentioned going on walks with CConnor while Chase is in school. If it isn't to cold out, I might throw him in the stroller and try it. Just extra in case I don't have more time later.

CChar- you are good! Smart cookie. Has your FIL been looking on line in the other states?

Lora- sounds like a nice place to work. I love the change of tone in your posts this week compared to last.

Missy- I meant tosay earlier that I try to WO while the boys are noapping too. WEll, atleast when I am not babysitting. Chase really doesn't go to sleep anymore. Once in a while he will. I just have him lay down and rest for a bit. I need a break to you know LOL!!

One of the partners just told the Office Manager I have no common sense cuz I haven't been going thru Jay's mail (and he says people have been having trouble with mail/faxes missing). I don't know Jay well enough to know if he'd want me snooping thru his mail. The procedure here is that the Clerks lay his mail on the ledge next to my desk and he goes thru it when he wants to.........and I wasn't told to do anything different while he's gone. Anyway, then I got all stressed out and ate a piece of birthday cake with buttercream frosting and strawberry filling in the middle layer.........I'm guilty!!!!

Amber - yes, all White males and most of the same religion. Totally different than being the only white girl in the office, like my last job.
 
Amber- Do you Mean "Eat to Live" by Joel Fuhrman? He didn't write "Body for Life", that one is by Bill Phillips. Anyhoo, I have both books. Eat to Live is geared toward the Vegetarian/Vegan and quite strict. It gives you some great advice on eating healthy though. I think you'll like it. Body for Life is more of a 6 meals a day with Protein and Carb in each meal plus a workout plan. It's also a great book.

OMG..those shorts were sweats and I cut them around the knees. The back part of butt says, "HOT KISS". lol. I got them from a close out store for a few dollars.

Finished up my workout. Did Plyo Legs. It's a Beachbody workout. It's kind of a combo of the same Plyo and legs moves from P90X. It was tough.

Char- That's hilarious! Maybe I'll find some old sweats and cut them for a whole new look. They are still cute. I d'no about the HOT KISS stuff! LOL!

Hot Tub and Protein shake time... It's freakin freezing and snowing outside. Pray I don't fall on the way to the Hot Tub. You all know me.:+

Just finished second half of Yoga X. Really starting to like yoga. Might become a yogini. :) A friend just gave me these candles that sit in a tray with little stones - 3 candles. I took them down to my workout room. Just like Char.

Thanks for the prayers for my dad. I hope his appointment tomorrow finds him in good health.

Lora - I'm with Meg. You didn't know without being told. Shoot, you could have been fired for going through stuff you weren't supposed to! I need your help. Yoga is kiling my hip. I'm not sure but the moves that kill me (and I'm not sure if this it or if all of the stuff leading up to this has it sore and so this just tops it off) is the half moon and the twisting half moon. I suck at both of those moves but that's when I really notice it. It's right on my hip bone in the front where I have bursitis. It hurts just as much as if I just went on a 5 mile run! That's why I don't run anymore. :( What do you think? Should I skip that move next time (I hate it anyway) and see if that helps? Can you think of anything else that would be aggravating my hip in Yoga X up to that point - the first 45 minutes?

Dallys - it's freezing here too - it was 6 degrees when I came home from work and had to stop to get gas. I got my clothes out for tomorrow - I'm wearing Cuddle Duds under my jeans (yup, jeans for Friday) and under my wool sweater! And I'm wearing my new Waffle Stomper boots. I'm ready. I hope. I told DH I don't think I can get in the hot tub tonight. Maybe I'll brave it tomorrow. BE CAREFUL!

Off to watch Medium and go to bed. Half day tomorrow if it's not too busy.
