Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Thurs April 12

Cathlete
Morning Maniacs -

I overslept a bit. I'm getting a late start It's Butt & Leg day. Yikes and my legs and glutes are pretty sore from Lotte Berk the other day. I was debating moving my leg day, but I must stick to the program! I might run on the treadmill for the cardio today and do some yoga.

I'll be back in a bit.

Today is my rest day. I need it, I'm wiped out.

Diane Sue - I agree, I think we all need to do what we like for our bodies, everyone is different. I like the more muscular look (not like the hardcore bodybuilders, but more like the figure-type competitors). Thats what I strive for and love.

Lora - Cathe's announcement of the weight workouts are so exciting to me. I will definitely be order those. The boxing stuff doesn't interest me in the least.

Goodmorning. I have the worst headache from this cold. But, once I get the nerve to swallow that nasty, horrid Dayquil, I should start to feel better. I am planning UB today. I might do a circiut with it for cardio. I will let you all know.

Lora- my legs and butt are still sore too from MOnday, but thankfully much better today.

Deb- you do look fabulous! I agree, everyone does what they feel is good. Good for you!

I ended up doing Barry's Bootcamp Legs & Butt followed by the Treadmill cardio portion. This workout had some side running drills on the TM with the speed turned down low. You sort of got into a squat position sideways and galloped on the treadmill. It really elevated your HR and worked your legs. I liked it. Workout was 1 hour 15-20 minutes and I burned 500 calories. I also did Solar Flow Yoga from the Matrix with Shiva Rea. I did Dancing Warrior 4, Standing Poses 2, Supine, Inversions and shavasana 40".

Deb - I'd say you pretty much hit your goal of what you "strive" for. You do look like a fitness competitor! All you'd need to do to be in competition form is to do the diet and pre-comp routine to get extra lean for the competition. Not saying you need to do that, but that's what they all do when they compete. I'm sure you know that though *wink*. I wish I could build muscle like you. I'm not sure it will ever happen ...1) cuz of my injury and 2) cuz I'm so much of an ecto on top. I will say that my legs are looking slightly better from this Fluidity/Lotte and lighter weight workouts. I think it agrees with my body type. I probably should have measured my thighs (I wonder if it's too late now), but my inner thigh sweep is more curved out and I notice slight more definition in the upper inner thighs as well. I just need to get this light layer of fat covering my lower body gone. However, me and food have not had a very healthy relationship lately!! I need a job!

Diane Sue - do you do arm balances in yoga? I'm not supposed to do them due to my injury and I'm still suffering from the one I tried a while back. I really did something to my right frontal delt.

Well, I've officially made Brooklyn afraid of the camera. I only have 3 more pics left on this roll of film and every time I point the camera at her, she gets the fear of death and runs. The very last pic I took, she blinked and jumped when the flash went off and that was that!

Hollywood still doesn't know how to play with her yet. He's so confused. I feel so sorry for him. He's never been thru this before. Tyler & Brookie play just fine (they have been), but Holly still doesn't know what to do when she steals his toy off him and jumps on him. Tyler's always been so good with the other cats and has taken them under his wing. This surprises us very much being that he turns into a severe attack cat at the vet and needs to be heavily sedated in order to take him for care! Holly just watches Tyler & Brook play and gets jealous but when it's his turn, he's clueless! Poor baby!

Okay, I'll quit babbling about my babies!

My husband's niece works at the ambulance place I applied for the billing job at. I spoke with his sister last night. I'm not sure if his niece has any pull or not and I generally don't like to do things like that, but I told her if their willing to train (I've never done Medicare Billing before), I'm sure I could learn. It's 5 minutes away from my house. I could even go home for lunch! God's Will be done.

Now that I've typed a book .............have great workouts everyone. Hi to everyone that follows. I'm going to do my neck stretches and hit the grocery store. Someone please come with me to keep me away from the bakery!!!

Good Morning, today I stayed in bed late. Am having a headache. I think I have been eating to may nuts again. They seem to trigger headaches. I have been trying low carb recipes that use a lot of nuts ground up in place of flour. I need to quit eating so much of it. Today is the M&F rotation quads, hamstrings and calves. I will do a step workout as well. I told my grandchildren we would stop at the library after school and I am hoping to hear something from the vet today.

Debbie, I like the look of figure competitors too. I realy like how Monic Brant looks:)

Maeghan, I hope the Dayquil helps. I hate cold medicine.

Diane Sue - She usually ships every Tuesday....so if your check didn't clear in time for her shipping day this week, I'm sure she'll ship it next Tues. She used to do it that way at least. It's a second job for her, so..........and yes, she does send a shipping notice. Next time you need to order something via Paypal, just let me know and I'd be happy to order it and you can send me a check. I don't mind at all. I usually have money in my Paypal account (as long as Ebay business has been half decent).

Meg - hope you feel better. Swallow that Sh#$.......sissy!!! Just kidding!!! Coming from the girl who can swallow a whole handful of vitamins (horse ones) in the blink of an eye!!!

Deb- surprised to hear you don't like boxing! I would think you would get into it being that it helps cut up your upper body and heck.....who doesn't like to punch out their frustrations??? Well, maybe it's just me that needs to do that :)!!

Good Morning :)
Just finished PUB,PS, MIS, Biceps and triceps and abs from PS.
Deb you do look like a fitness competitor! I too have the same goal as you do:) I'm with you I can't wait for those new workouts!

Meg I'm so sorry your not feeling well:( Take care of yourself.
Have a great day everyone

Meg - a shot of whiskey'd probably work fine too!! LOL!! I thought about that at first (sicko!!! here). I have to stay away from any cough medicine or stuff like Nyquil cuz it has alcohol in it and it could trigger my disease. I always want to medicate myself when I'm not feeling well, although not the best thing for someone with my history to do! I really hope the Dayquil helps. Maybe you could even do some yoga later when the kids are napping.

OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH Yoga! Wouldnt that be Heaven?? I still have alot of the Yoga Shakti that I haven't done yet. OK, now I really need to take the Dayquil so it will kick in by WO time. I can't wait for nap time today, believe me!!!!!!
So what do you do when you are sick with a cold Lora, just suffer? That rots! But I understand why. Hope you don't get colds too often!

Meg - usually if the DH is around, I suffer. If he's gone (which is never the case), I'd take everything under the sun to feel better! When I had my surgery (laser laparoscopy for endometriosis), the doc gave him an Rx for Tylenol with Codeine while I was knocked out. He pitched it in the trash and told me I could take Advil! However, when he had all 4 wisdom teeth out, I had to go fill his RX for Demerol for him and I remember (don't forget things like this), he took every last pill out of that RX!!! LOL! Some how, that just doesn't sound fair to me!! I've already warned him not to do that again, should I have surgery later in life!! I hope he listens....as pain is not getting any easier to deal with these days! I don't usually tell him if the doctor gives me a Rx to take when he's not around. It saves a lot of grief! I best get my butt to the store. Lord steer me away from the BAKERY!!!

Hi Anne!! Glad you had a nice visit with your sister. Good job working her!

I just did BC, but I did not do the leg segments. I am stilll really sore in my inner thighs, but and hips from B&G on MONDAY! I then did Yoga Shakti, supine poses and foward bends and twists. I can't believe how tight my hips are. They are usually very loose, but I guess it is good that I did this yoga today. I feel alot better now.

Lora- you are too funny! I took the dreaded Dayquil. Almost gagged, but chased it with milk, so that helped LOL!!

Sorry I double posted earlier. I finished my workout. I started with LIC premix cardio blast stopping at the stretch, then did Low Max premix 4-7, I followed with the M&F rotation legs and calves, then I put in Tracey's Sculpt sweatfest and did the lower premix wich was only 16 min and 7 min stretch. I think next time I do this I am going to strap on some ankle weights for the first move, I used 8 # for the piriformis move she was doing, I just balanced on 1 leg for the 1 leg squats because I don't have a bosu. I think I could use weights on the 1 leg squats as well. Now the squats with no weights that moved pretty fast really got a burn in there.
Workout was as follows:
Bowflex leg extensions 180# 10 reps 3 sets
Bowflex lying leg curl 90# 8 reps 3 sets
Bowflex squats 180# 10 reps 3 sets
Bowflex leg press 310# 10 reps 3 sets
Bowflex leg press calf raise 310# 15 reps 3 sets(I do these as a leg press into a calf raise
Standing calf raise 35# dumbbells 20 reps 3 sets(workout calls for donkey calf raises)

Lora, thanks for the information on the soap. I mailed it on Friday so I will probably have to wait till next week.

Hello Ladies!

Didn't make it to check-in land yesterday. So to catch up, Tuesday night I lifted lower body and threw in triceps since you know I want to firm those puppies up. Yesterday morning was 60 minutes of steady state cardio on the bike (trainer) and this morning was CC#6 on....are you ready...the elliptical. I figured I'd shake it up a bit. Interestingly enough I do get my HR a bit higher on the elliptical than on the trainer. I might have to try a Spinervals workout b/c I know those got my HR into the 190's. Don't get me wrong, the CC's do get my HR into the 180's but more the lower 180's. It might be the ComputTrainer - I might have to write a more difficult incline. We'll see. But on the elliptical - kicked my tush!!!

Anyway, tonight is supposed to be knitting at Barnes & Noble with the girls so weights might be tomorrow night, BUT...it's supposed to start snowing tonight, so if that happens I'll skip knitting (those tires, you know). But they have downgraded it from a winter storm watch to a snow advisory and it went from 5-7 inches to 2-5. So that's good. :) I WANT WARM WEATHER!!!!

Better get back to work. I can't believe how busy I am. Makes the day go fast though.

Meg - Hope you feel better.

Diane Sue - I'm still praying for good news for Puddle.

Diane Sue - Yes, we're all waiting to hear about Puddle! Still no Tracey tapes. I swear they forgot me! I'm upset. I can't wait to do the Bosu exercises!!

Suz - Good to hear from you. I can get my HR up pretty high on the Elipitcal too (although not 190!!)....as that's not quite in my range yet. The bike bothers my sciatica and I'm guessing cuz it makes my piriformis spasm pull on the sciatic nerve. That's why I don't use it much.

Hello Maniacs!

Today I did CTX Step and Intervals followed by a leg workout. At lunch i did the elliptical for a warmup and then did a bunch of butt exercises.

Sounds like everyone is having great workouts or great plans for workouts later.

Rock on Ladies...Rock on!!

I just did Kickbox Bootcamp with Kimberly Spreen for 30 minutes. It was fun. I like her kickboxing workouts. She's good at it.
