Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did a Warp Cardio Day. I did 4 rounds of 60 sec hard intervals followed by 2" of eaiser ones and then did 5 minutes at an easy pace and 20 minutes at a moderate pace 6-10/10 and then cool down and stretch. I used the Ellipitcal for the hard intervals and then alternated walking with my weighted vest on the TM on an incline, punching and kicking the heavy bag, and then did some Kettlebell Smoke Drills....jogging on the treadmill with kettlebell swings. Total cardio with cooldown and stretch was 55" and I burned 487 calories. (oh and this is the first time I ever ran on the incline all the way up .....I never used to be able to do that...as it's hard on my low back - hope my back will be okay tomorrow between that and all the Swings).

I also did Tias Little's River Flow Yoga - 55". Finally, a yoga workout that felt great! I was beginning to wonder what was going on!

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Diane Sue - The Mio Ultimate comes with a chest strap but it has the fingerpads to take your HR on your watch....so you have the option of wearing the chest strap or going without it. I think it's around $180 and I couldn't afford that one last time I needed a HRM, so I got the Mio Drive. The only time mine beeps is when I take my HR and it comes up in the reading...it beeps and when I reach my goal of burning 3500 calories, it beeps to let me know....and that's all the beeping it does.

Toasty -Check out BPAL for a huge Lunar update. Dyan Moon and 2 Carvinale Actcs. I have a little bit in my Paypal...but i won't be buying much. I'll be looking it over for a while....as it will take me forever to decide.

Good Morning, today is my rest day. Nothing big planned other than running errands.

Lora, I think I can turn the beep off on this HR monitor. I remember seeing it on it somewhere that you could change the volume or turn it off. I will have to look. I also am spending a lot of time worrying about the strap being loose. I have this one pulled up as tight as I can get it. When I lie down or put my arms over my head I feel like it is a little loose.

Hello. What a crappy rainy day for my day off. Oh well. Went and got some of my flowers. My Biceps are VERY sore from yesterday. I haven't had DOMS in my biceps in awhile. I like it. lol

Not sure what WO I will do. Prob a steady state something on the TM.

Suz--thank you so much for waht you said yesterday. The BF is really great, and it is a nice change to feel fantastic!

DS- I sure hope you get the HR monitor business figured out. How frustrating that must be.

Hey there!

Today I did legs for the first time in ages! I used our new Bowflex Revolution. What a fun machine! Since cycling season is here I'm going to be lifting lighter weights and higher reps. I noticed that some of the weight seems heavier than on my other weight machine with "real" weights. For example I tried to do leg extensions with 80# and almost died. I had DH try it to see if I was just a wimp since I hadn't lifted in so long and he did say it seemed a bit stiffer. He had already disassembled the leg extension piece off of our other bench so I couldn't compare.

Anyway, I did 3 sets of 20 reps for the following exercises:

Leg Press - 100#
Calf Raises - 100# - with the leg press setup
Leg Extensions - 50#
Lying Cable Leg Curls, one leg at a time - 15# - these were amazing and the most targeted workout for these muscles I've ever done. My hammies were sore from yesterday's ride, so I didn't do the normal lying leg curls. I turned the other way on the bench and hooked my foot in this brace thingie and then up to the cable and YOWZA - you feel it all in your muscles and not at all in the back of your knees and there is no uncomfortable feeing in your hammies from hitting the bar underneath your leg. So my DH tried it b/c he said it looked like a good one and he was really impressed with it as well. I will be using this exercise a lot. You can see it on the Bowflex website if you're really interested in seeing it http://www.bowflexrevolution.com/bowflex_revolution/revolutionaryworkouts.jsp. Click on "View Exercises" in Lower Body Workouts. You have to click on the video that says "Lying Leg Curl No Attachment" as they have the wrong picture with the video.

Lora - I thought you were taking a rest day today?

Diane Sue - I hope you're enjoying your rest day.

Meg - I'm glad you're a happy girl!

Suz - took my rest day yesterday ...just very low intensity cardio. I'm jealous of the Bowflex. I want one soooooooo bad!!

Today ended up being a major cheat day. I did so well all week and yesterday:) This morning no breakfast, lunch was a dark chocolate zone bar and white tea, then this evening we went to Pepperoni grill. I go Tilapia but it was on top of a large dish of pasta. Had some bread and then we went out for ice cream:9 I enjoyed every bit of it. Tomorrow I will be back on track.

Suz, I bet you will really enjoy the Bowflex Revolution. Does that one use the power rods too?? Great workout:)

Maehgan, I think I will try the HR Monitor tomorrow again and if I still have problems I will just take it back and get some workout clothes or something. I am not going to pin the strap all of the time. I was looking at the book and was going to try to adjust some settings and do the own zone thing.
