Morning Maniacs -

I ended up doing Amy's Slo Mo Strength Challenge Total Body Premix 70" yesterday and burned 370 calories. Never did make it back here. Busy day. I'm off to do some light cardio and yoga.......maybe. Not sure yet. I'm still half asleep as I worked late last night.

I ended up doing Core Rhythms Salsa Blast - 36". I only burned 276 calories. I also did Dharma Yoga for Energy 20".

Not a lot of time to workout, as I'm off today and the DH wants to go to an early movie.

Work was rough last night. Lots of call-off's and only 2 of us there. I worked the front register all night. I have a feeling the person who got stuck working my Thanksgiving shift screwed me and called off.....so I'm assuming they will do it again on Sunday. I work Sunday and Monday and that's it! I hate working the front cuz I have to straigten the chocolate aisles and I've been having chocolate attacks at work all of the time! Not good for me!

Off to soak in the tub and then use my Jai Mahal whipped body cream.
Have great workouts or rest days everyone.

Good morning!

I think today I will do the LIS workout. That's my story anyway and I'm stickin' to it! Well, I finally got that stinkin' dress finished. I kept having to take it in and take it in some more and take it in some more. If I had started with the right size in the first place I would have been better off. My sewing peeps told me that the old polyester was a bear to work with so it's no wonder I had such trouble with the fabric. It was fabric that I got from the DH of my mom's friend who died. A long time ago. And he brought it up to me. A long time ago. So it's pretty old stuff. And it smells funny when you press it. Even though I've washed it. And you can hold the iron on it to press a seam FOREVER and it won't hold the seam. It's the strangest thing. But I wanted the practice so I kept at it. It's not the greatest fit, which is a bummer, but oh well. Live and learn. In the future I will a) cut closer to the right size :p and b) tissue fit my patterns before cutting the fabric. Live and learn. So here's the pic:

Today I start my new blouse. I'm making a test one and then the final for DH's Christmas party that is December 7th. TWO blouses by December 7th. Think I can do it???

Today is my rest day

ETA: I am gonna come up with a rotation. No offense, but for me I think alot of people do more cardio..maybe some need it more, but I need more strength training and less cardio so I am gonna be working on one today cuz I don't see any on the rotation forum that is good for me. Anyone want to chime in with opinions, feel free. I could use some ideas. I am open for suggestions, etc.

This morning was Shoulders and Traps. Short and sweet and the last workout of this rotation. I'm suppose to do legs tomorrow but I say screw it. I need a week off so I'm taking it. My wrists are ok today, but still a bit touchy. I'm going to be doing cardio Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I think this is a great time to take a break with weights due to Thanksgiving and all. So I'm looking forward to it. Then I'll start the 8 week rotation I did last year that I got great results from.

SHOULDERS/TRAPS
1:30 min. rest between everything

SS #1
Barbell Overhead Press:
55# - 12/12/12
superset w/
Dumbbell Shrugs:
45's - 15/15/15
***I concentrated on the down movement of the shrugs. That always makes such a difference in fatiguing the muscle.

SS #2
Wide Grip Upright Rows:
55# - 10/10/10 (up 5#)
superset w/
Hammer Grip Front Raises:
12's - 12/12/12 (up 2 reps)
***I was worried the upright rows would hurt my wrists and they did a bit with the first set. The second and third set I took a wider grip and that helped a lot. HG Front Raises are just freakin' brutal.

SS #3
Arnold Press:
22's - 12/12/10 (up 2# + 2 reps with sets 1 & 2)
superset w/
Behind the Back Shrugs:
110# - 12/12/12 (up 5#)
***This is a hard superset. I could feel my shoulders wanting to give up with the Arnold Presses by reps 10. Got a great burn.

That is all....

Hope you all have a great weekend and workouts!

Suz - That is a pretty dress. You look awesome!!!

Char - I'll send you the rotation I'll be doing soon. I think you'll like it. Also, nice fireplace!!! How cozy!!!

Debbie,

Thanks. I gotta have something to follow...something on paper that I can stick to. For some reason, I am just starting to get in a funk with workouts...thanks for helping me bust thru the funk.

I have been getting ready for my guests. Turkey cooking. I did Kelly Coffey's Cardio Step Kickbox and added the abs from her cardio sculpt workout. I have a cold and coughed half the night. Woke up with a massive headache so I hope things improve.

Suz, the dress turned out really nice. I really like the color. It looks like it fits you just right to me. I remember sewing with the polyester double knits. No way can you put a crease in it. But on the good side, you do not have to iron it and I think that was the great thing about it at the time. It was kind of like the new wash and wear. I am really dating myself here.

Hey Maniacs! My washing machine has bit the dust, so Dh and I are going to be out looking all day at garage sells for a used one. I just can't bring myself to fork out the cash for a nice new one.

Suz- I think the dress is pretty and it looks like it fits you nicely. You look great in that color too!

Char-Diane Sue- The cucumber melon scent lasts for quite a long time, as far as body creams go.

Well, off to the garage sells...I know you're all jealous at how much fun I'll be having.:+

Char - Nice fireplace! :) I love mine. It's on right now. I get so cold so I turn it on and then turn on the blower and stand in front of it until I get warm. We're thinking of making it a real wood burning one though due to the cost. My dad has one and we love it. Really heats up the place. But the gas one is so clean. No mess! And yes, I admit to being a cardio junkie, as you know. I can't help myself. But today I shall do some weights too with the LIS workout. You have to do what works for you. No offense taken. :p

Debbie - Enjoy your break. It's well-deserved. And what better week for it. Hopefully your wrists will be completely healed when you return to weights after next week. Thanks for the compliment. Great workout by the way.

Diane Sue - I'm sorry you're not feeling great. Of all days. And a massive headache to boot. But you amaze me because you still get in an amazing workout. That's why you look the way you do. Yeah, that fabric was something alright. :)

Dallys - Bummer about your washing machine. Are they still having yard sales in your area now? I thought that season was over. It's supposed to be in the 20's here on Tuesday. Brrrr.... That must mean that you're getting that weather first. I hope you find a good one. Good luck!!! And that color - I thought it was pretty funky at first, but it kind of grew on me.

Suz- Today was a pretty nice day, in the high 50's. We still have garage sales going on, but not very many. We ended up looking for washers on KSL and found one that's fairly decent and we got it for $90. Hopefully it will at least last another year.

Randi- I might do that premix tomorrow.:)

Char- Beautiful fireplace! We have a fireplace, but I never use it. I hate cleaning up the mess. I really want to get a gas insert. I love the cozy feeling.:)

Suz,

Gonna have the pellet stove installed in early december so I here what your saying....does warm up the entire house and in the end saves more money.

Alright, cleaned up the fireplace when the wood burned off. Now I have a question....
There is black residue. I got some off, but rest is not budging. Is this expected? Sorry, but never had a fireplace before so I have to ask. Duh. lol

Alright ladies....

You can google The Apple Cottage in Luray, VA and check out the organic/vegan store I went to. I have her card stash in my purse somewhere so don't know the exact web address. She has some really neat stuff there. Most of us might need 3 jobs to pay for everything if we keep getting addicted to more things. lol. I believe Lora started most of this. :p

Randi - Great workout you crazy woman! :)

Dallys - Congrats on the washer. It ended up being in the 60's here today, but so windy and so it seemed colder.

Char - A pellet stove will be nice. I don't know about the black stuff. Sorry. Yup, Lora is the one who started this whole addiction to all the soaps and oils. We have her to blame. :p But think of how wonderful we all smell now.
