Morning Ladies -

This morning is a semi rest day. Not sure how much I'm going to do. I know I want to practice a bit of Rebecca Small's Step Revolution and do some yoga. Not sure how demanding of a yoga session I want. I'll see how I feel. I'm posting now, as I'm not sure what time I'll be back. I've got lots to do this AM. I'll be back later.

I guess I made it back here before anyone after all.

I ended up doing Rebecca Small's Step Revolution adding propulsions, hops, etc for a moderate cardio workout. I put in Step Express (the last tape I have of her that I've not tried yet) and started learning the first 2 combos as a cool down......not sure about this tape. The combos are really different than her usual coreography and seems a bit harder -- or maybe it was just that I didn't like the music as much on this one and couldn't concentrate well. I usually love the music on her tapes....but a Brittney Spears song came on Slave and then a song that sounded like Beyonce......different from Rebecca's usual Evolution music. Anyway, I still love Step Revolution and had fun with that. My HR monitor stopped timing my workout about 45-50 minutes into the workout...so I'm not sure how much I burned or how long I ended up doing. Last look at my HRM, my calorie burn was 280ish. I also did Yogatopia - 60 min.

My legs are fried from workouts this week. I think Amy Bento did me in yesterday. I was using my heaviest weight resistance band and we were doing combo lat pulls with stepping up on the higher step with the resistance band. I think between that, the weights and the power yoga.....that did it. Some day real soon.....I guess I'm going to need to take a real recovery day. I keep saying I'll do it when I go back to work! I need a job! I really wanted to take a rest day today, but when the DH doesn't do it, I feel guilty and so I work out too.

Have great workouts. I think we decided to see that movie The Number 23 with Jim Carey today. It looks strange.

I'll be around later after my bath, etc. I'm going to try out my BPAL Bath Bomb called Grrr for headache relief. I've had a migraine for days due to TTOTM x 2 this month. Grrr is right!!! LOL

ETA: Diane Sue --- sorry to hear you weren't feeling well. Are you feeling better now? Do you think you had a touch of something? That's not like you to not be feeling well. Take care of yourself.

Good Morning, today I plan on doing some cardio, abs and yoga/stretching. Then on to neglected things around the house.

Lora, it really is good to take a rest day. Or maybe just a stretch day:) I think I do have a touch of something. I still have the scratchy throat and somewhat of an upset stomach. I took my grandson to the dr. last week and he had an awful cough. We have been using a nebulizer. Usually I can fight stuff off pretty quickly though.

Good morning Maniacs!!!

Welcome Sara (sp?)!! No worries here...I'm one that has life getting in the way of my workouts all the time!

Quiet today...

I have been working hard on the elliptical (just loving it) and now my calves are pretty sore. That's all of done this week. I blew off p90x again. I'm going to pull out my new yoga dvd's for sunday.

I got talked into being a nurse today, so I'm at the nursing home giving an iv right now...DH is here too (giving therapy) which is the reason I caved when they called, WTH, how often do I get to work with my DH and it's only 3 hours!

Diane Sue...great workout even when you weren't feeling good!

Janie..so far so good with the starter..it's foamy. I have to find a place where my cat won't get at it. This is a cat who is so big he literally sits at the table with us for dinner in a chair, the boys give him a plate. Yes.. I know we are crazy with the animals at my house. He is not allowed on the counter, but if he thinks there is milk there, he will go for it.

Char...Lora...I get problems with my neck/shoulder in that crane pose too, I have to arch my neck and usually cut it short. I've worn true love now for 3 days in a row. I'm hooked. Please tell me what notes there are in it so I know what I like.

Meg...hang in there! we will be here when it gets less crazy!

Hi Dallys....Suz!

Debbie..we have warnings for an ice storm tonight...it's headed your way next.

More later (I hope)

Amber

This morning I did Chest and Tri's. Had an excellent workout but I did too many sets on some of the exercises. I didn't read the guidelines close enough.

This is Phase 2 Week 3, same exercises as last week but mixed the compound moves with isolations. 2 minutes rest between each set.

Chest:
Pushups: 2 sets/15 reps (warmup)
Assisted One-Arm Pushups: 3 sets/7 reps each arm
Barbell Press: 90# 2 sets/9 reps; 1 set/8 reps
Incline DB Press: 40's 1 set/9 reps; 1 set/8 reps; 35's 1 set/9 reps
Incline DB Flies: 35's 2 sets/9 reps; 1 set/8 reps (was suppose to be 2 sets)
Decline DB Press: 35's 1 set/10 reps; 2 sets/9 reps (was suppose to be 2 sets)

****I was wiped out after this but continued on...

Triceps:
Close Grip BB Press: 75# 1 set/7 reps; 65# 1 set/9 reps; 1 set/8 reps
Dips: 65# 2 sets/10 reps
Kickbacks: 17# 2 sets/10 reps

Then I did the ab work from Kick, Punch & Cruch. I love this ab work.

Amber - Yep, we are getting warnings already. Need to get out of here and get my stuff done before it hits.

Hope you all have a great weekend and a great workout!

Morning Maniacs!
Sorry for butting in on your thread. I am a Maniac lurker and love reading the amazing workouts you gals do;) Actually I stopped in to ask Lora a question. Lora, I have read that you have the hiphop abs. I know you posted that they are lower intensity which is all right for a add on for me but what I want to know is do these dvds give you a good burn in the abs? I have trouble with my lower back and floor ab work so I have a real hard time with Cathe's ab work even though I love the burn. Is HipHop abs worth the purchase for the ab work? Thanks so much for any input you give me. Thanks for letting me pop in have great workouts everyone!

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

I need to do some cardio today. My bodyfat is up and so is weight and I have been eating healthy lately. I think with my neck/shoulder being out of commission, I have not worked out as hard as I could and not burning many calories. I dunno..just what I figure. I am gonna start something in a few minutes. Going shopping later with entire family.

Amber,

True Love....Patchouli, carnation, peach blossom, frankincense, honeysuckle, and Spanish mandarin.

I am absolutely in love with Dark Delacicies (sp?) I cannot stop sniffing myself. It is my next favorite to Cleo May. Got on Blinding Glory of Love today...smells EXACTLY like a grape tootsie roll lollipop.

Lora,

I don't know if I will post anymore P90X pics. I really think I look the same, and right now with extra weight and my body fat consistenly saying it is higher, I would rather not just yet.

I don't like recovery weeks, you know that. Doesn't work for me.

Diane Sue,

I hope the sick feeling passes soon for you and so you can really enjoy your day and get more done, etc.

Debbie,

You must have posted same time I did. Wow, you are kicking butt this morning. Plowing right thru. lol. Great amount of weights you used today..looks like you went up some

Joanne- thanks for popping in. I actually am the WORST person to ask this question to though. I have been having a lot of trouble getting my abs worked enough lately. I was using weights all the time on them, but stopped recently for variety. I'm a person who has never really felt or clicked with standing ab work. I'm the same way when doing plank like moves. I feel that it takes core strength to do them, but I don't ever get sore....so I always wonder if they work. I will say this much though.....if you want a fun hip/hoppish type of cardio work (and there is some higher impact in there or you can always add your own intensity like I do - if i want it) that does work the abs while actually doing the cardio (like kickboxing) then I'd get them. I like Volume 2's cardio and think it's a pretty decent cardio workout, as he jumps a lot more in it. The first couple of times I did them, I felt how they work the abs while doing them.......but the way that kickboxing does.....more of a secondary thing? Wish I could be more help. Have you done any Turbo Jam's? If so, the way they "tuck and tighten" and do ab work standing is sort of the way Hip Hop Abs works. I guess I'd also say that if you like standing ab work, you would like them. Are they any sets up for sale on Ebay yet? maybe you can purchase them that way to save money in case you don't like them.

Amber - True Love = patchouli, carnation, peach blossom, frankincense, honeysuckle and spanish mandarin. Sounds like it is a spicy (patchouli), resinous (frankincensce) floral with a slight hint of fruit.......isn't mandarin like orange.....not sure on that one.
and just for the info....the other one's I lieke are Heartache which is Purple sage, red patchouli, blackberrry, lemon blossom and lime rind and Longing which is Attar of rose, violet, white pear, Queen Elizabeth root and freesia. (oops.......I just saw I'm a bit late)...oh well.

Morning Maniacs! I did 'Break-in workout B' from NRL. Again going lighter on the weights, trying to work around injury. I'll do one more week of 'Break-in' and then move on to 'Fat loss 1' which will be more intense.

Here is my workout.

Break-in workout B: 60 sec rests between sets and exercises.

Treadmill Warm up 5 min.
Deadlifts 2x15x37
*Superset
Stepups 2x15xsliverband
One arm shoulder press 2x15x12
*Superset
Lat pulldown 2x15x60
reverse crunch 2x20

Followed by 10 min. on treadmill includeing 4min. HIIT 4mph to 6mph.
Followed with a stretch on my own.

Workout was 45 min. Listened to 70's rock music.:)

Hey to everyone!:+

Hello Ladies!

Today will be cardio for me. I'm thinking Cardio Coach 5 or 6. And probably abs since I've neglected them a bit these past few days. I think the last time I worked them was Monday!!!

We had a storm blow in last night - windy, windy, windy! Livestock warnings (you know I always feel awful for the animals - pets and livestock). Up to 60 mph winds and snow. The sun is shining now but it's cold. We had 2 massage classes (couples massage and hand and foot relexology) and one quilt class today and they closed the college. Luckily we were keeping an eye on the weather yesterday so we printed the rosters and brought them home with us so we could call the students this morning. But wouldn't ya know it 2 people had disconnected numbers from the time they signed up until now and one woman's phone has been busy all morning! What can you do?

Every day I say that I hope I can start checking in more. So today I will say it again - I hope I can start checking in more! Yesterday I did lower body BFL lifting - and tris. My legs were a lot stronger than the last time I did this, as the weights I had written down were much too light. Hmmm...that's weird considering I didn't really lift during P90X. :) I had to up my weights. LOVE that!

I hope you all are well my little peeps!

Ended up doing Cardio Fusion and did it to the beat of Cathe's music. Oy! lol

Bionics,

The 70's? Do you like the Bee Gee's? Nice workout..you got your groove on too. he he

Hey Peep Girl Suz,

Great job on getting up with the weights! My kids are breaking things. Had to stop typing for a sec. Broke a plate off shelf. Goofing off. No big deal. So... yes, the weather is acting up and we are suppose to get something out this way..snow, ice? Not sure yet.

Janie,

Have a good workout! Sweat alot!

Lora,

I won one bid and lost the other. My first choice I won so I am happy with it. I notice you have Passion up. Got my eye on it.

So does anyone know how the sniper stuff works for ebay auctions? If I were to be crazy and bid $1000 for something, would the person sniping win it for $1001? Or do they just put in the highest amount they want item for. I just don't know if they win regardless of their own desired amount, etc. Just was curious.

Getting ready to go shopping here in a minute after hubby gets back from his massage.

Charlotte~~

Hi ladies,

You guys are all doing awesome workouts! I have Recovery Week next week for P90X and then I'll be done. Been very happy with my results. Found I had to tweak my carbs (less) in the 3rd Phase to see results. Love working out smarter and not harder as I'm kind of lazy.

Suz, I sent you an email this morning. :7 Show us some more bread, okay?

What happened to Anne? Haven't seen her post lately.

Dallys, are you still buying up lots of shorts and biking stuff? I found Zoot shorts have a thinner pad, which I like. Loving them so far. Hate thick diaper pads and they chafe me way too much. I love 70's music. That was my era.

I'm in 2 checkins now so I can't post regularly.

Hi to everyone!

Jeanette

Jeanette- I still have some pedals to buy and some long tights (might wait on these) and a couple short sleave jerseys to buy. Then I'll be set. I'm going with the pedals that you have. Platform on one side and clips on the other. I'll feel safer that way.:) What other checkins are you on? Are you still continuing on the Xer's. I'm glad you liked P90X. I knew you would.:) I miss Anne alot and wish she would come back. But, I doubt she will.

Char- This wasn't Bee Gee music! This was way cool stuff. Perfect mix for workin out.

"We will rock you" by Queen
"Rock 'n Roll Hoochie Koo" by Rick Derringer
"Hold your head up" by Argent
"Cat Scratch Fever" by Ted Nugent
"Funk #49' by James Gang
"Shinin' On" By Grand Funk
'Locomotive Breath" by Jethro Tull
"Brother Louie" by the Stories
"30 days in the hole" by Humble Pie
"Free Bird" By Lynyrd Skynyrd
"Mississippi Queen" by Mountain
"I'd love to change the world" By Ten years after

Suz- I posted the other day that I was thinking of doing BFL weight lifting, but decided to do "New Rules of Lifting" instead. I'm really liking it so far. Great you upped the weights! We had a Storm a couple of days ago. It's nice out today, but still alittle cool.

Diane Sue - Hope you got your house in order. I just got done doing the dishes and cleaning up my living room. Geez, for just two people, we sure do make a mess. Hope you had a great workout!

Char - Yes, I went up in my weights. I was excited to grab those 40's again. Its so hard for me to get into position with them, but once I do I'm good to go. Sorry to hear you gained some body fat, I'm sure you'll get it off. Watch that shoulder, you don't want to make it worse.

Dallys - Excellent workout! I love supersetting, really gets the muscle good. Excellent music list too! I bet that made the workout that much more better!

Suz - How do you not lift with P90? I thought that was the whole point of that series? Great going on getting stronger! Woo hoo!

Me again!

Well, I did Imax 2 instead. Great workout, isn't it? I know why I can't do it too often though. My knees can't take it and I don't even have knee problems. It's just my age and all those years of running I guess. But I sure love it! Then I had a pina colada Myoplex shake in the hot tub. Seemed fitting since that pina colada song is at the end of the workout. :) We have 30mph winds and about 9 degrees windchill so that was interesting getting in the hot tub. But once we were in it was great. Now I've got to hop in the shower b/c we're going to some friends house for dinner and a movie.

Dallys - I'd like to hear more about this workout you're doing.

Char - Hope you don't get ice!

Debbie - P90X doesn't have a lot of leg weights so that's why I was surprised. :)

Jeanette - I e-mailed you back. One novel traded for another. :p I'll ask about the bikes tonight since we'll be at Bicycle Station Dave's house. :)

Better get going or I'll be sweaty stinky tonight. Not a nice house guest to have. Happy Saturday night to all!

Suz

Hi ladies! No workout yet. My DH & I went to dinner early, so I am still hoping to get a small WO in once my tummy has settled. So that means more personals for you..:)..here it goes...

Deb-Chest is my FAVORITE area to work. Did you read in Oxygen that Monica Brant doesn't work chest? I thought all competitors worked everything. OMG-that close grip BB press after the chest work had to burn!! }(

Suz-Congrats on upping your weights! Glad your storms have settled down. 60 MPH winds-I can't imagine what that must sound like! Hope you didn't have any damage. Hope you enjoy dinner!

Jeanette-Hi there! Congrats on your P90X results! I have heard the program teaches people alot about exercise and even turns some of our own theories about our bodies upside down! Would love to hear what you have taken away from the program.

Janie-I hope your Journaling the Journey thread is a bit hit! I think it will be. Again-excellent idea!

Diane Sue-I hope you are feeling better! You are so healthy-I give that scratchy throat until the end of today. I am sure your immune system is whooping up on it and winning!

Lora-Your semi-rest day was quite a WO! I am sure you will have Step Express conquered in no time. Sorry about your migraine-I can't imagine a headache that lasts for days! Nice explanation of HHA-I know you are hesitant to do reviews sometimes, but you really do a great job with them.

Meg-Hope you are still doing good & getting your WOs in when you can! Hang in there! :)

Dallys-That is SO COOL that you know about Steve Ross & Inhale! :) :) :) I wish he would come out with a DVD already. He's been saying it for three years!!!!!! I mean, I am a procrastinator and not one to talk but d@mn! I taped all his shows but they are not the best quality VHS and I have worn them out! BTW, I have Steve's book "Happy Yoga" if you're interested in reading it. It's pretty good, but as you know from the show, he is pretty opinionated and sarcastic, so you have to be ready for it in the book, too. As I have told Lora-I liked Yoga until I found his show-then I LOVED yoga. I really like his style and sequencing. "GMAFB"-you'll have to ask Deb for sure ;), but I think she was shortening "Give me a f__________g break." DOH! :)

Everyone/Anyone-No roadtrip for me this year. Did anyone say yes?

Amber-WOW! 1200-1500 cals-surely there's some good advice you can give me there! BTW, that's a lovely height 5'11"-I am at the shorter end of the stick at 5'1" (and 1/4")! LOL! :) I'll start saving my $$$ for P90X!

Char-Just checked out your new avatar! Surely, there is a magazine out there that needs a new cover girl and you are cover-worthy, girl! :) I think P90X did you more good than you realize! Your definition is stunning!

Have a great night everyone! I'll try to be back to post my workout.
