Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for October

Today I did Cross Fire warm up, fitness blast, and low impact tabata, 22 minutes, 105 calories to warm up good for my leg workout. I then did STS disc 20 legs, 50 minutes, 265 calories. This one was a little hard on the knee with all of the lateral stuff so I did not go as heavy as I used to. I finished with Tai Cheng week 8 day 3. This was 36 minutes and 110 calories.

Debbie, I have issues with my neck and shoulder blades a lot. A lot of the time I will be fine but wake up in pain. I swear it has to be how I have slept on it. The neural reboot phase 4 of Tai Cheng has a foam roller section on the neck area. Really you don't move much. You lie on it and then sort of move into what makes me think of fish pose over it with arms overhead. I have the rumble roller and I really feel it. A lot of the time it will be just one sided and feel like it is pinching and hurting up my neck into the back of my head.

Teddy, so, I guess you retired :) It must be really nice being able to travel and relax.

I thought I posted yesterday but I do not see it. I did X train Supercuts extreme with core 2 mix, 73 minutes 408 calories, max hr 160. I then did Tai Cheng week 8 day 2 36 minutes, 100 calories.

Today's workout was STS disc 21 Back and Biceps and the extended stretch followed by Tai Cheng week 8 day 4.

Yesterday I did Cardio Super Sets, 42 minutes, 233 calories. I then did Kelly Coffey's waistline workout on Home Gym Intervals, 9 minutes 37 calories. I finished with Tai Cheng Week 8 day 5, 37 minutes, 83 calories. Workout was 88 minutes and calories burned 353. I then went and walked all over the zoo with my daughter, granddaughter and grandson :)

Today I did Rockout Knockout, 55 minutes, 345 calories. I then did Intensity Higher intensity Hiit segment and finished with Tai Chi week 8 day 6. Workout was 89 minutes and calories burned 512

Today I did Cardio Coach #3 and had an ok workout. I think I need to go get my knee looked at it, it is really hindering me from my workouts anymore. I'm taking my mom to see her hip doctor today so I'm going to see if they can sneak in an x-ray on my right knee today. If not, I"ll have to make an appointment. This is becoming ridiculous anymore.

Workout was 36 minutes, traveled 2 miles and burned about 302 calories.

Teddygirl - Good for you, girl! I'm jealous!!!

Diane Sue - I know what you mean, I wake up like that too, but since I bought that memory foam pillow it hasn't happened until last week. It's much better now. I hate when that happens.

Today I did Low Impact Athletic Training, 55 minutes, 320 calories. I then did Ab Circuits Med ball no partner abs, 11 minutes, 40 calories and finished with Ta Cheng week 9 day 2. This is where the phase combines the moves learned and adds some weight gloves and a loop band. 39 minutes, 108 calories.
I have had tremendous neck pain all week and a headache. It feels like pinching in my left lat. I went to get my hair cut this morning and they had my neck on the shampoo bowl for quite awhile and had put on a moisturizing treatment. I thought I was going to pass out it hurt so bad. I have been nursing it all day. When I go to my physical I need to address this. Also my finger joints that actually catch and snap. No rheumatoid arthritis though. They checked not too long ago when I was in for allergies and my wrist and finger joints swelling and catching. It is getting frustrating.

Debbie, I have a down and memory foam pillow. I also bought a 2 inch think memory foam cover for our mattress. I still have to wake up and turn a lot through the night because if I sleep soundly for a few hours I wake with the neck pain. I hope that you could get the x-ray. They usually want to do that first anyway before they will go on to an mri.

Today I did the upper body premix of High Reps. Had a pretty good workout. Went light but it still burned.

I didn't get the xray yesterday, the doctor's office was way too crowded. I'm going to call and make an appointment today if I can.

Today I did Lean legs and Abs timesaver #3 chair/firewalkers and barre, 36 minutes. I then did Great Glutes 55 minutes. I finished with Tai Cheng Week 9 day 3. I had to modify a bit on the compound work on great glutes because of my neck issues. It is a tad better today.

Debbie, I was hoping that you would be able to get that x-ray.

Today I did Yoga Focus and did the Strength yoga workout, I think I'm going to try to add yoga in once a week if possible. I'd like to do it twice a week but I know how that goes. I feel good and my muscles were so tight when I started. I forget how good yoga makes me feel, I'm not sure why I keep getting away from it.

So I did call and make an appointment for my knee. It's on the 10th, the same day my mom has a follow up on her hip and at the same place so that worked out well. I'll finally find out what is causing all this pain. Kind of scared to find out, I don't want to go through surgery.

Today I did Cardio Coach #1 and had a pretty good workout. I try to be really careful with running since my knee feels like it swells up while I'm running. It doesn't hurt when I run, though, which is really odd? I hope it's nothing too serious, I'll guess I'll find out on the 10th.

Workout was 35 minutes, ran 2 miles and burned 311 calories.

Roselyn - Thanks! I hope it's not anything major.

Yesterday I did Les Mills Combat Ultimate Warrior before I had to leave the house. Busy so not much time to get on the computer. Today was my doctors appointment so again I had to hurry to get done. I did manage to get Tai Cheng in today. I did Afterburn, 54 minutes followed by Tai Cheng week 9 day 3. I burned 427.
The doctor gave me a compound blend prescription cream to put on my neck that is for pain and muscle spasms. It has a muscle relaxant, and some sort of pain relief in it. I couldn't really decipher all 4 of the abbreviated drugs in it. It feels a little better as I can turn my head without pain. She says if it doesn't get better she will do an x-ray. She mentioned some people get relief with some collar that produces some traction.
I am getting a dexa- scan done when I go for the mammogram. I haven't had one of those done since 2008.

Debbie, I am glad to hear that you have an appointment for your knee. Hopefully it is just something that can be treated with maybe physical therapy or something. My son in law was jus given a sheet to work on his Achilles tendon that has been hurting him. The difference for him though is that he does not work out and work on mobility and flexibility like we do.

Today I did STS Total Body but only did the Upper Body Premix. Had a pretty good workout. Went a little lower in weights since the last time I did this one. This is what I did:

Triset #1
Flat Bench Barbell Press
- 50# - 16 reps
Chest Flyes - 15's - 16 reps
Lying Tricep Extension
- 8's - 16 reps
Repeat with 12 reps
(The Lying Tricep Extensions were supposed to be Dips, but dips seem to irritate my shoulder so I just don't do them anymore.)

Burn Sets
Close Grip Pushups
- 8 reps
Standard Pushups - 16 reps

Triset #2
Barbell Curls
- 20# - 16 reps
One Arm Row - 20# - 16 reps
Standing Dumbbell Curls - 12's - 16 reps
Repeat with 12 reps
(The Barbell Curls were supposed to be Barbell Rows, but I don't think there is enough bicep work in this workout so I changed it.)

Burn Sets
T-Pull w/tubing
- Skipped
Seated Tubing Curls - Skipped

Triset #3
Standing Overhead Press
- 10's - 16 reps
Upright Rows - 20# - 16 reps
Lateral Raise - 5's - 16 reps
Repeat with 12 reps

Burn Sets
Tube Rear Delt Row
- Skipped

Diane Sue - I sure hope it isn't anything serious. I'm not so sure I want to do physical therapy, though. I've always found that such a waste of time and money. JMO.

Hope you all have a great workout today!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Yesterday I did Kelly Coffey's Slim Sculpting with the Kettlebell. I did the premixes doing first the core/abs and then doing the swings and lower body. This was pretty good. I then did Tai Cheng week 9 day 5.
Today I did P90X3 Dynamix, Shock cardio Cardio Core Circuit, and Tai Cheng week 9 day 6. I burned 570 calories. I haven't done Cardio Core Circuit in at least over a year. I forgot what a great workout it was.

Debbie, I felt the same way about physical therapy. I read a lot online and I bought a couple of dvds for knee rehabilitation. So, I worked on it myself and gradually built into what I could safely do post surgery. I do think that there are good physical therapists and for some it helps them get an idea of what to do. My surgeon gave me an authorization for a physical therapist but did tell me I probably could work it out myself. I didn't want to spend time having to go out to a therapist several times a week and I did not want to pay the co-pay for it after the hospital expenses.

Yesterday I did Flex Train and did some shoulder work today.

Diane Sue, I was looking at that Piyo and wanted your input again, how do you like it and what package do you have.

Today I did Kelly Coffey Slim Sculpting kettlebell workout doing the both workout premix that is 70 minutes, and burned 463 calories. I then did Tai Cheng week 10 day 1 which was 50 minutes. They will be longer these last 4 weeks. This week it has some more advanced stretches added to the final phase of neural reboot and all week I will be doing sequence one and two of the tai chi using the band and weighted gloves. By week 12 I will be doing all three sequences together. This made my workout time long at 2 hrs. I may need to make some of the cardio and weights shorter.

Roselyn, Piyo is not a huge calorie burner but, I like it. It also has one of the low impact turbo fire workouts on one of the dvds. I have the package that includes the two strength dvds; stong legs and full body blast. These two use the gliding discs that came with my package. I also got the Hardcore on the floor by using my Beachbody Coach. The core work on these is good. These were nice for taking with me and not needing a bunch of equipment. I think my favorites are the two gliding disc ones,, both core, and drench.
