Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Monday 4-16

Cathlete
Morning Ladies -

I'm off to a bit of a late start this morning. I have to do Barry's Shoulders & Back/Cardio and a bit of yoga. I'll be back later.

I ended up doing Barry's Shoulders & Back followed by the non-Treadmill cardio (modifying some on the Rebounder) and then I did 2 drills from CIA Absolute Kickboxing with Kimberly Spreen (really getting into a kickbox phase here)- 1 combat drill with the weighted bar and one without. I didn't want to stop but......ended up doing a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes with cool down and stretch. HRM states I burned 390, but my resting HR is not set correctly as the battery was just changed.

I also did Anusara Yoga with John Friend (Hatha yoga practice that felt wonderful - 45") and Keli Roberts Spine Roller Massage workout 30". I tell ya, I'm going to be real grumpy when I go back to work and lose all of my extra workout time!

I just love the music in the new CIA's. I actually did an older Tae Bo Live last week or so for about 10-15 minutes and took it out cuz the music is just not as good as it used to be. I think that the new CIA's are the best for music. It's like Tae Bo Live's music was only updated for the current time! One recognizable song was that song that goes "check it out now.....funk show brother.....check it out now". It's got that sort of hip/hop vibe. I'd much rather here that song than "Buttercup"!!! LOL!

I hope my BPAL order comes today.
Toasty - are you hooked up yet? Please visit us!! We miss you .

Have great workouts everyone.

This morning I did Cardio Coach #4. This is one tough workout, I think its the toughest out of all of them. Lots of sprinting and hill climbs with very little rest between intervals. This workout is around 40 minutes so I stayed on my treadmill until I reached an hour. Then I did the ab work from Leaner Legs.

Workout was 1:12, was in my zone for 52 minutes and burned 376 calories. Traveled 3.54 miles.

Hope you all have a great workout!

Food question - are Edamane and Quinoa sort of similiar? Which one tastes better and does anyone have a salad recipe using them?

Deb, on cardio caoch do uyou elevate fir the hill climbs or just run to get your hr up? Oh, no accept offer, i took your advice i got the imara for 49.I saw it and was unsure about it.Thanks. I got a second chance offer. Someone out bid me when i was in bed..Is it easy to use? I hate complicated.I am like duh...

I am on the evening shift. We spent the whole day fixing tanning bed coolant fans.Fun on my day off huh.

I did GS tri, and BSB timesaver really as heavy as i could.I even did 25's on the shoulders and do far no sore...
\Legs are a bit sore yet, but i am planning cardio today...
I am on CC#4 , working up the line...
After coffee and wakey upy...

Hey Maniacs! Went for a 2 1/2 hr. Mt. Bike ride yesterday. Burned...get this...890 cals! If this Mt. bikeing doesn't take some wieght off me, I'm going to be pissed! LOL! Today will be a rest day as I'm toast after riding all weekend. Even DH is worn out, which is highly unusual.

Lora-Edamame and Quinoa are nothing alike. Edamame is a roundish green soy bean and great in salads or alone. Quinoa is a grain and you would probably need a good recipe for that. I don't have one, but I bet if you ask on the open discussion forum, you'd get some.

Debbie- I wish you could go Mt. Biking with me. You'd love it!

Diane Sue-Enjoy your workout today.:)

Anne-Make sure you get the Imara with the calorie counter and not the 43 lap one. Also, make sure your get one with a strap as not all on ebay have one. They are simple simple to use. I got mine at Amazon.

Gotta run...early customers today.

Good morning ladies. I see you are all really burning up those WOs! Great job. Haven't decided what WO to do today.

Anne- yes I am feeling better. Trying to get ready to wear those bathing suits. Although, some WARM WEATHER would be nice!

Dallys- I guess I really need to take up biking! Geesh!

DS- glad to hear that Puddle is improving.

Lora- you are going to have big time withdrawls when you go back to work LOL!!!

Deb- I guess number 4 should be my next CC. That is when I get my IPOD back. It was broken. Very angry about that!

Char- hope all is well with the new house. We miss you.

I'm here Maniacs!!!!!!

Banging..hammering downstairs as new floors are being installed. Vicious weather for moving...wind, snow, rain and what else????? Had fun with it. Got pushed into the wall when hubby pushed the mattress up the stairs with me behind it. lol. He has alot of power..strong man. It was just him and I moving alot of the furniture so my back was feeling it next day. I love this house. It is so perfect for us. Very happy. Most stuff is moved in. Still have garage stuff and attic stuff and some furniture pieces and then we are done.

I did some ab work this morning on my own, but other then that I have not worked out in about 5 days so I am really feeling the need to do so. Weight equipment is still at my FIL's and with it being so windy..not sure we will get it broken down today. Basement is really dusty and such so we have to sweep alot before we can put the equipment downstairs.

I really miss you all. Been thinking about you everyday. Be back tomorrow.

Anne - That looks pretty much like mine except mine is black. The only thing I hate about it is the wrist strap for the watch, its really hard to get off. It's sort of easy to use once you get use to it. Took me a while to figure out how to clear the reading from the day before. I say go for it!!! Oh, have fun with CC#4, let me know how you like that one. Its a KILLER!! Also, when I do hills I have been going to 10 on the incline with a speed of 4. Sometimes that doesn't get my HR up so I end up putting it on an incline of 3 or 4 and jogging at a 5.5. Once my HR gets up there the incline works for the climb parts. I prefer sprinting though.

Dallys - I wish I could Mt. bike with you too! That would be sweet!

Meg - I'd be pissed about my Ipod being broke too. One of my Mp3's use to give me crap all the time!

Char - Are you online at home now? Or at the library? LOL! Glad to see you pop in for a few! We miss you!

Deb,

I am at home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Peeking in again. Men still working on floors so they are in my way of getting things done downstairs. Think I will put up some border, but I need groceries too.

I got to grab my db's tomorrow so I can start working out. I keep looking in the mirror to make sure my muscles haven't gone astray. lol. I am really anxious now to kick butt. Think I will do P90X legs/back tomorrow.

Miss you.

Meg,

Your gonna have to email me. Got alot of catching up to do.

Lora,

How many oils have you bought since I have been gone???

Bionics,

Want to ride with you.

Diane Sue,

Hope you get everything done today. I know the feeling.

Anne,

You are being superwoman again and again. You always manage to squeeze in the most in your day.

Banging resumes from flooring...lol

Toasty - good to hear from you. The only update they had while you were gone was Friday the 13th. I got that and Lady Luck Blues & Bad Luck Woman Blues that went up with the 13th. That's all. My Monsterbait/Milk Moon order just came to. Bloody Mary is awesome. Love it. Milk Moon smells sort of similar to catalog blend Eve and I love Eve too. Not sure about Ventriloquist Dummy. Toyko Stomp is an awsome vanilla mint, but I've only tested Milk Moon & Vent Dummy so far. So glad you like you're new home already. I always worried when I moved that I would not become comfortable in my new home. That was quick!! Tell DH to quit pushing you around!! (kidding!!)

Deb - if my Treadmill only has 3 incline settings, about what percentage would you approximate each incline would be? Any idea? Watch GH yet?

Re: Quinoa - where in the heck do you purchase it? A specialty store? My regular store didn't have it. Should I go to a store with an Organic section or what????

Hey crazies! Taking a short break here. Everytime I climb up the stairs, I'm reminded of my bike ride yesterday! Oy! Got some burning going on.}(

Meg- I know! Big calorie burns on my rides...to bad my body fat hasn't noticed. LOL! I wish you could ride with me too.

Char- I bet your new floors are going to be GEORGOUS! I remember all that banding and hammering when I got mine in. You are moving all that heavy furniture, so you are still working out...in a sense.:)

Anne- Debs right, the watch is kind of hard to get off. The band is stiff. If you need any help, just ask us about it. Then you won't have to read the manual.:) Mines that same color. I call it light- shade-of-Weimeriner.

Lora- I see quinoa in the bulk section at the health food store.

Gotta get back to work.

Dallys - I'll look in the Organic section at the larger store. I have no idea where else to look around here. I hear ya about the calorie burns and fat loss. My body is hanging on to these last 5 or so pounds for dear life! I've also been doing a lot of cardio! I am seriously considering getting Jillian Michaels new book, Making the Cut from Amazon. It's about losing those last 10 pounds. I wonder if there is anything useful in it for us. I know she was pretty technical in her first book with diet and what type of food oxidizer you are, etc....and I quit reading it cuz I started getting "techincal information overload". I wonder how her new book is??? It's supposed to have exercises in it also.

Lora- Good luck with the quinoa. I bought it once and didn't really like it much. I have Jillians older book and have done some of her workouts. They are major tuff stuff (circuits)! There was zero fluff in that book. Just the facts and reality.}( I should get it out again. I have a hard time with all the numbers and such in books also, maybe that's my problem. LOL! I didn't know she had a new book. Sounds interesting.:)

I am soooooooo upset! I got my first speeding ticket today I was going 10 mph over the speed limit. I dont know what to do. Do i go to court or how do I find out how much it is? This is probably a stupid question , but never had one before:(
I am not in the mood to workout right now but will let you know what I did later
Have a great day everyone!
Randi

Randi,

Sorry to hear that. I always get upset when I get a ticket. Makes me feel like a criminal reading the ticket, etc. I just pay the ticket if I know I was wrong even though it sucks to drive 25mph. Hope you know if happens to alot of us...criminals. lol
