Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Labor Day

Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did Minna Lessig's Tank Top Arms, Bikini Belly and Boy Short Bottoms. Workout was 69" and I burned 465 calories. I also did Beginner Yoga with Desi Bartlett Lunar segment 30".

Have a great Holiday everyone. I work 2-9 tonight. We will probably be dead since it is a Holiday evening and who would even think we would be open? I also have to sell 1 and a half my sales per hour amount today since I get paid time and a half.......that sucks!

Speaking of work, can I just vent a couple more issues here?? I'm so disgusted with my workplace. I talked to the big manager about transferring and he said I can't do it unless my numbers increase. My bipolar boss has me scheduled all nights and gives the other girl all of the good day-shift hours when there is more of an opportunity to make your numbers. As I said above, nights are dead.

Speaking of coworkers, retail is really a trip in that area. My coworker (which I've had it with and I sort of got into it with her the other day - and I'm not usually like that) is really tall and she sees all the customers first and runs up to them. It is very competitive when you are both trying to make your numbers, but I think it looks bad to "jump" on customers (so to speak)....so she always gets the sale and I do terrible. The other thing is that I can't even stand to hear any more about this girl's personal life any more...so I don't even talk to her. Excuse me for being judgmental, but she is such a Suzy Sl#@! She has a different boyfriend every week or so (sometimes 2 at a time). She has body parts pierced which I can't even discuss here (and she tells everyone about it). All of the young girls hang together and give each other sales. It's so clickey.....that I can't stomach this place any longer between my bipolar boss harping on me for everything and all of the other sales per hour stress and finally the coworker situation. Just venting here so I don't explode at work and go off on someone I shouldn't and lose my job!! LOL. Sorry if it's TMI!! and thanks for listening everyone.....if anyone's around today.

ETA: Okay...I just read my post. Am I becoming a horrible judgmental, old prude??? LOL

Today I did a cardio workout. I really needed to workout. Been eating a lot of junk. And not moderately, either. So I chose Strikezone and had an excellent workout. Now that I've done this one quite a few times I know the moves well. Makes a huge difference with my HR. This is one fun workout. I really enjoy it.

HR STATS:
57 minutes total
8 minutes below zone
16 minutes in zone
33 minutes above zone
426 calories burned

Hope you all have a great Labor Day!

Lora - I don't think your being judgemental. And I'm sorry you are having such a hard time at work. That really sucks. Hang in there. Do you work in a mall? Maybe look around there and see if anyone else is hiring.

Deb - I love Strike Zone. Josef is so motivating...isn't he? His form is excellent also! Yes, I work in a mall. I haven't really thought much about getting another job in retail because I assume it would be the same elsewhere and I'd rather be in the fragrance dept than anywhere else and the stability of certain stores right now (with the economy) are not stable, but at least Dillards own's most of their property, so they have a slight advantage in this economy. I have been looking in the secretarial field though....but nothing as of yet.

Diane Sue - I hope our Kelly DVDs come tomorrow. She shipped on the 4th. Darned holiday!! ETA: who's weight selections are you following in Jari's DVDs these days? I want to do them, but I never seem to lift heavy enough when I follow Jari.

Today was chest and back p90x. I burned 483 calories which is lower than last week but not bad for a weight workout.

Lora-I'm sorry work is such a b@*ch. I hope you are able to find what you want. Working in an environment that is not mentally healthy is so draining. I'll say some prayers for you.

Debbie-I hear you on the eating. Holidays always screw me up. I have worked out the entire time though because I know how I behave on extra days off. We did not eat out as much so the "bad" food was cooked by me. That does give me some solace.

I have 3 couch to 5k runs to get in this week, but I have no motivation to run today. Tomorrow is plyo and I will try to get one in after that which may be very ambitious. So far I really like the p90x format. I can only improve on pull ups and push ups because I really suck at both of them. The only workout I really don't care for is the Kenpo. I was expecting something more or different. I will probably just sub different workouts. I may also try to add a short step workout after leg day because I really like step. I'll stop rambling now. Hope everyone has a great day.

Lora - Sorry you are having such a rough time of things.

Debbie
- I hear ya on the eating. I did great all week then got on the scale and nothing, so out of frustration and stupidity I completely blew it. Trying again this week though.

For the most part I feel good with my cold like it's almost gone, until I try and do something.:( I did Tonya Larsen Step Surge Combo Only premix. This is only 43 minutes and pretty intermediate, but I was huffing and puffing and exhausted halfway through. Wanted to do more but that was all I could handle. Burned 323 calories.

Today I started with Amy's Kickbox Surge premix surge mix 33 minutes and burned 284 calories. Then I did the Surge Core segment and burned another 62 calories. I then did Sts disc 10 chest, shoulders, and biceps which took 63 minutes with pauses to reset some equipment 377 calories, I followed with STS weight and plates redoing the first 4 minutes (forgot to restart my hr monitor) and burned 127 calories, I finished with yoga solutions post cycling segment 13 minutes and Muscle & Fitness Hers May/April foam roller workout segment chest/shoulder roll with passive kneeling chest stretch 2 times. 21 minutes and burned 75 calories. TOtal calories burned today was 904 45% fat, 158 max hr. I am going to try to do STS legs tomorrow and hit the other upper workout on Thursday to give me a short cardio workout Friday because my time will be really limited. I should have Kelly Coffey's new workouts that I ordered so I will try to do the muscle definition one on Saturday. Anyway that is the plan right now.

Lora, I am a person that tries to schedule appointments for afternoons to avoid messing with workout time LOL Sorry you are having to work evenings and it is not busy. I don't see you as judgemental. I can't imagine why the girl would share about her piercings. But then most seem to do that stuff for attention. So I guess maybe I see it. I am not into that stuff myself. I hope you get the job that you want. Dillards does seem to be holding it's own. Foley's turned into Macy's here.
On Jari's I started out doing the male's weights(can't recall his name) After having some joint issues I dropped to the women's weights in the back and use the step. So max is around 10# dumbbells. I mostly use 8 and 10. I still get a great calorie burn. You got a great calorie burn today;)

Linda, I think you are doing fine just doing something. I looked at that dvd but didn't know the instructor so passed on it. Eating has been off and on for me. I did great all day yesterday but ended up eating some of the grandbaby's arrowroot cookies:eek: Near bedtime!

Theresa, I hope this does not sound dumb, maybe I missed something but what is a couch 5k run?? Kempo X is just a moderate workout. I do not find it very motivating. I do like Kempo+ so much better. I know that I have not heard much feedback on it but I get a good calorie burn and the people in it are motivating. Just sub another kickbox workout if you do not like it. I always add weighted gloves when I do that one.

Debbie, Strike Zone is such a fun workout. I have so many of those though that I forget how much I like some till I pull them out:) I feel like dh and I are having a vacation. Just the two of us hanging out. Enjoy your time together.

Diane Sue-The couch to 5k is a running program for people who are beginners at running. I am going to try it this way because I am not a good runner. I always feel like I am fighting for breath and my heart rate soars the entire time. Basically you do three runs per week (30 min altogether with the warm up and cool down) at 20 minutes. This week I run for 3 and walk 1.5 min (I think) and repeat until 20 min is up. There is a 5k run at the end of October that I may enter because dh challenged me. I hope this program works. I've never been a good runner-I played soccer in high school and the most I ever ran at one time was 4 miles. I don't know if it's the fact that I am a bit overweight. I thought when I quit smoking it would help with running but so far that is not true. Sorry for the novel :)

Lora,
I don't think I could stand sales, all that emphasis on how much you sell. I mean, I get that that's how the company makes money, so they want to motivate you, but it just seems so stressful, like you could never be at peace at work. Do workers try to get regulars, like customers that buy only from one person? It seems like that would be the only way to have peace with how much you sell, because otherwise, who knows what you may or may not sell?

Today's workout was something I haven't done in a while, which was nice. I did KPC warm up and combos 1 and 2, then leg conditioning drills from Kickmax, a bit of my own stretching, and then the post kickboxing premix from Tracey's Yoga Solutions.

Theresa, when I was in high school and we had to run I would get that stitch in my side and slow to a walk. The Phys Ed teacher used to yell at me:confused: So, I feel good with what I do. I have pulled my treadmill intervals up to 9mph on a level 2 incline so feel pretty good about that. I didn't know about running programs back when I did the 10MPH on a 5 incline. I just built and pushed myself. But that treadmill broke and I had a long time in between. Makes my knees and feet ache if I do it every day though. I think that you are doing great. Just keep at it. A little at a time to build that stamina is what worked for me.

Charlotte, good for you getting your workout in later in the day. I don't know how I used to do that. I have been doing it in the am so long it is habit. If I try to save for later it never happens:)
