Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for June, 2015

Today I started Meso 2. Now we're talkin'! Loved it. Had a great workout and NO PUSHUPS!!!!! Sweet!!! I did Chest, Shoulders and Triceps and did well with it. Feeling great!

After that I got on my treadmill and walked for a mile. Haven't gotten my 10k steps in for the last few days so I'm determined today to do so.

Roselyn - Meso 2 is much better, isn't it? :)

Diane Sue - It isn't you, it's the HR monitor. My Fitbit shows that I burned 216 calories doing Meso 2 today. Workout Manager shows I should have burned 396. So when I'm done, I create a workout in Myfitnesspal and put in the difference of the calorie burn - 180. I'll just put "Meso 2 - Chest, Shoulders & Triceps - Offset w/Fitbit)" and then log it for 1 minute and then the rest of the calories FB didn't log. I'm not sure why they are so far off. You gotta wonder which is right? But I do think we burn way more calories lifting than our FB's or HR monitors show because of the muscles working and even burning calorie when we are done.

Today was legs so I started with Turbo Fire Hiit 20,20 minutes, 141 calories, HR avg 131/ max 162. I wanted to have my legs good and warm. I then did STS disc 20, meso 2 week 3, 49 minutes, 349 calories. (weird, this was more than the 324 in the workout manager) hen did Ab Circuits weights and plates abs, 19 minutes, 68 calories.( this was under the over 90 calories in workout manager) Total time was 88 minutes and calories burned 558. Really my calorie burns were right on what I had put them into my fitness pal at during previous workouts. I still used the same watch, different strap and transmitter. I laundered all of my straps yesterday even though I rinse them every time and launder every 2 to 3 days. Today seemed more accurate as to the effort I put out.

Debbie, I always thought that even though the heart rate is not way up there when we are lifting heavy, we have to be burning extra calories that those monitors are just not going to pick up on. I have a Fit Bit on my Amazon wish list. It does sound like the same annoyance though. It would be interesting to be able to track resting as well as workouts. Also, it seems I have done tons of push ups in this rotation. Even yesterdays disc 22 started out with 4 sets of push ups and then during the triceps there was 3 sets of tricep push ups. Then when you hit the Low Impact series workouts there are more pushups like the walking plank push ups etc. I think I will be searching for something different after this rotation for sure.
