Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Friday Jan 4

Hi Adina I had lasik 3 years ago it's the best thing that i've ever done:)!!! If you have any questions ask me:)
Randi

Adina - I am not hardcore, just an idiot!:p My problem is I am feeling fat from the holidays, skipped Tuesday's cardio and just really felt I needed to burn some fat!

Lora & Diane Sue - Do you have any recommendations on workouts to improve flexibility? So far I haven't found a yoga tape that I like, so I guess that means I don't like yoga. And I would like it to be short, something I could add on easily. With 2 little ones, time is rare!

Anyone - Anyone here do HIIT? Do you like it? How often? Are you getting good results? Cardio isn't my favorite and I would like to get the most for my time.

Linda

Ugh .....had the worst day at work. I am forgetting stuff I learned from being off that week over Christmas. The office manage made a comment on the way out tonight.......so I hope they end up keeping me. Hopefully, I'll improve next week! This brain isn't what it used to be.

Linda - what yoga tapes have you tried that you didn't like? How short are you talking? an hour? 20 minutes, 30 minutes?? Do you want Hatha yoga/mostly stretchy yoga, not power vinyasa flow?

Deb -- I've been fighting this cold with a scratchy throat, runny nose, etc. I've been taking those zinc lozenges called Cold Eez and extra Vit C. Hope you don't get too sick.

Toasty - what job did you get an interview for? I hope you get it!

Lora - Sorry you had a tough day! It'll get better. As far as the yoga goes, eons ago I had some beginner yoga tape,(don't remember the name, I've tried, Rodney Yee, Brian Kest, Molly Fox. None of them I enjoyed. I guess I am looking for something stretchy, but does not have to be yoga. I just want to try and increase my flexibility and I think about 20 min would be about right. Any long and I probably wouldn't find time to do it.

Linda, a lot of the time I just do parts of yoga workouts. I do like how much more limber it makes me feel. I recently bought Spinervals Flexible Warrior Athletic yoga 3.0. It has 4 segments that can be done separately. There is nothing fancy with this though. The longest segment is 20 minutes, but I like what is does. Do you have Cathe's Stretch Max?? I think yoga stretches you a little better than a basic stretch tape. I am not sure what you are looking for. I like Keli Roberts foam roller Flexibility for the inflexible. It is about 28 minutes long. You can also separate segments. There is some core work in it. It is not exactly a stretch tape though. More like myofacial massage. I have not tried the ones you mentioned to Lora. I use Yoga Shatki a lot. It has the beach scene and a matrix(workout blender) where you can put together what you want to do. I am still discovering segments that I really like.
