Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Friday Dec 21

Sandy,
That doesn't sound good. Hope you feel better.

Well I finished my arm workout. I decided not to do plyo's felt like my heart rate is high enough during curls as it is, can hardly breath.

I did tricep work first this time.

Parallel Dips 5/5/5
Regular Dips off stepper 12/12/12
Lying Tricep Ext with 20's 8/8/8
Close Grip Bench with 60# 8/8/8

Biceps:
Zottman Curls with 30's 6/6/6
BB Curls with 80# 6/6/5
Concentration Curls with 45's 4/4/4
DB Curls with 25's (gone lighter cuz my arms are just fried) 8/8/8

Have a very Merry Christmas everyone. I probably won't be able to get on computer until Wednesday cuz hubby will stay on all day.

Evening Ladies,

Debbie - enjoy your rest days! I am sure you need them!

Diane Sue - The outfits are adorable!

Suz - I love the top. I've made clothes too so I know how hard it can be and how easy it is to get it wrong. That top looked especially hard! You are also very beautiful, as this is the first picture I have seen of you.

Dallys - I know what you mean about switching cardio. I can do step with no problem, but when ever I get the idea that I am going to run it just about kills me! I hate running! Also I know what you mean about space for equipment. My dad recently made me a squat rack that mounts to the ceiling and folds up when not in use. I love it!

Marietta - Hi I am new to the forum, but just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas!

Okay now back to business. This morning was legs!

Front Squats

20/20/20 - 55#

SLDL's
10/10/10 - 90# (I love this exercise)

Plie Squats
12/12/12 - 85# (haven't done these in a long time, so am really feeling these)

Leg Extensions
15 - 50#
15/15 - 45#

Hack Squats
12/12/12 - 45# (I really feel I struggle with form on these, my shoulders round forward, which is why I kept the weight light. Any one have any good tips?)

Calfs from LIS ( what a burn)

And I certainly did not miss doing Bulgarian split squat this morning! :D

Okay my kids are at my sister's so it time to go wrap gifts!

Not sure if anyone's still around.......and that's why I don't usually post when I get home from work.

I'm off until after Christmas now. My boss is on vacation next week, so I don't have to work, but I dont' get paid for it either.

I worked the front desk all by myself for 2 days in a row (the full - busy days) and did okay. It's a bit hectic, but nothing I can't handle. I even got a compliment from the office manager today that she likes the way I ask for money........and said I had a nice way about it. I'm also not afraid to ask for it....so that's always good. I still have much to learn but I can't believe I'm doing half of the mathmatecial crap I'm doing now....since I'm horrible at math. Maybe I'll make it after all!

Ann- thanks for the Nubar info. I love OPI's colour selection, but never thought it was all that great with wear. I do like Zoya though.

Diane Sue -cute outfits.

Suz - love the top. You look stunning, as usual.

Great workouts everyone.

I'm trying to decide what sort of "rest day" i should take tomorrow since I ate way too much chocolate. I think it's gonna be a low impact cardio day instead. Undecided right now.

I know you guys will think I'm sick for saying this, but I'm ready for more new workouts.

Tracey posted that she filmed a "surprise" workout and she has lots of stuff planned to film the next 3 months. Amy has the kickbox workout coming and hopefully Cathe's new stuff won't take too long.

I'm planning on playing with Cathe's circuit premixes next week when I'm off (since it requires a lot of set up).

Dallys - You're so funny!

Marietta - What a treat! Twice in one week. :) Merry Christmas to you too my friend. Thanks for the compliment. So sweet.

Sandy - Thanks! I tried to teach myself to sew when I first got married almost 15 years ago. I made a few cute sheath dresses and a couple of skirts (oh, and a jacket with my serger that my mom STILL wears) and I haven't done much other than a few small quilts in a long time. So I'm trying to get back into it and trying to make more complicated things. I'd love to do more couture sewing too. I'm on a sewing forum and am learning SO MUCH from all of the talented people there. I'm amazed at the gorgeous clothes they make. And they are so willing to help whenever I have questions. I'm sorry you're still not feeling well. I hope the antibiotics help. I'm sure they'll kick in soon. I think Lora's big on Amy Bento. And maybe Diane Sue???

Linda - Great workout! Your dad must be quite talented. Well, that pattern was "Very Easy Very Vogue" and you know how that can go. Sometimes they expect you to know things you don't know. Overall though it wasn't really that hard - if only I had been putting the right tie through the slit I made. I really don't know what I was thinking! :p I must have tried it on 10 times during contstruction. I'm such a dork sometimes. And thanks for the compliment. There's another pic of a dress I recently made on my picturetrail if you click on the link at the bottom of my posts. Now THAT was a chore - nasty fabric!

Hey Lora!

I'm glad you're job is going well and that you get a long weekend, albeit unpaid. A good news/bad news situation. Join the crowd of bad eaters! I think it's now a pandemic! And thanks for the compliment. :)

Hey ladies - I just realized there is a pic of me in the Holiday Collage Video catalog on page 10. I got a $30 coupon a few weeks ago and I was waiting for the new catalog to come -- but I finally just realized I'm in the current issue. If anyone's interested, check me out!! LOL.

Suz, what is a pandemic?? LOL I think I have found it! Have you purchased any patterns from http://www.e-patternscentral.com/crochet/detail.html?prod_id=3277? I purchased two there yesterday. My youngest dd (the one that teaches) wants me to teach her to crochet or knit. I thought the mittens and hat beginner pattern would be a good one to start with.

Lora, I am glad the the job is going well. I knew it would. You have so much to offer. You have been doing this sort of work for quite some time. I am sure you will get the mathematics of it down you are doing great so far.

Eats so far was the recipe I posted. Early morning was coffee.
Lunch and mid afternoon I ate some of the soup from Fitness RX.
Dinner is a salad of mixed greens, 1/2 apple, onion, spinach, and a low sodium raspberry vinegrette. I have been outside cleaning up branches and leaves this afternoon.

Linda, good workout. I like to do the calves from 4 day split holding a dumbbell through the first part and then adding the other one when Cathe holds two. Thanks on the baby outfits. I second what Marietta said on Amy's Slo Mo. These are great workouts and you get some new angles on the moves. Step Challenge 2 is a challenge. I think it is easier than the first one and am working through it because it is fun. Hi/Lo Dome is a fun Hi/Lo workout and the dome workout is short but hits everything well. You get a lot of core work in this one. Don't expect it to be heavy though and I would highly recommend a bosu. SHe does have someone showing the moves on a bench.

Marietta, good to see you here again:)

Lora - I threw mine out! I just ordered a new one. I hope I get the holiday one though b/c it said it would be 10 days. I'll have to ask you about it when I get it. That's cool!!!

Diane Sue - I was going to say an epidemic, but I think it's gone way beyond that now. :) I haven't purchased patterns from them before. But those mittens and hat look like a perfect place to start for her. So cute! Reminds me of spring. I love the little flowers. I wish I knew how to crochet because then I might actually finish something. I swear I never finish any knitting projects anymore because they take so long! Well, that and the fact that I never "spend time with my yarn" as my friend Kristi always tells me. :) When my dad's here if we take him on any road trips I'll take the baby blanket I'm working on and do some knitting. I'd love to finish that thing. Teaching your dd to crochet is smart.

Rock girls,

Have you all heard of the band "Earshot". They are really good. Like the song, "Wait". Others aren't bad either. Give it a listen, unless I am behind the times and you all already know them. lol.

Char - Don't know if you're still around. I somehow missed your post earlier. So tacos is the trick. That must be why I'm eating like a complete pig but not gaining weight. We eat tacos about once a week, sometimes twice! DH loves them. But I worry that my weight is changing to FAT! :p

My hair - here's what happens (shhh... don't tell Ann). I color it. It's really red. After about 5 weeks when it's time to color it again (like right now), it fades to a less red red. Tomorrow I'll color it and it will be more red again. Also, when I make it a little straighter like in those pics, it doesn't look as red. Outside it's much more red than inside. If those same pics were outside it would have been much more red. Weird, huh? My hair has a mind of its own. I'm a freak! :)

I haven't heard of Earshot, but I'm kind of a music dork. I bet Lora knows them.
