Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Finally Friday April 11

Lisa -I used my heaviest KB's for it. I also use my heaviest one for those around the body passes. I think I need a 40 pounder .....but only for SOME exercises!! My butt/low back are a bit sore from this morning already. Sorry...have no idea about bleaching teeth. I can't do that cuz I have 3 bridges and 3 crowns in my mouth...so I can't bleach my teeth. I've got lots of platinum though!!

Toasty - I'm really loving the Possets I bought. They are giving Beth a run for her money!! I purchased several of the Seasonals since my Madame X obsession and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. She's into lighter, sweeter, softer scents. I've been wearing (and Loving) Nadine (it's based on a cat), Final Snow, Coo, Churpz, Heated Heart, Simulated Cupid, Strawberry Heart (to die for vanilla). Check her site out. Her bottles are only $10 each. Fabienne is the owner and she's a very friendly Gemini and native Ohioan (from Cincinatti) and also a cat lover. I'm wearing Final Snow today and the last remnants smell like the softest marshmallow cream fluff sweetness. I've discovered an entire new world here. Where Beth takes the dark, resiny, red musky scents to the hilt......Fabienne is fabulous at the foody, sweet and sensuous blends. If you didn't care for Madame X body cream....the oil wears totally different! Check it out www.possets.com.

My enabling is all done for today!!

Lora - WOW you really know your skin care. I was thinking you would make a great esthetician sp? I know I spelled that wrong. You sound so passionate talking about it. Thanks so much for the links and such. I've heard you talk about Lush before I will check these out tomorrow while hubby's at work and I can browse the sites! I'm so excited about that! You're how old again! Yeah, you look more like you're in your twenties than 48, but then it's just a number right! You wear it very well! Thanks again. I'm sure I will have more questions soon.

Lisa - About the teeth bleaching I'm wanting to get mine bleached as well, but might have to get braces again ( hoping I can get the invisiline) my dentist charges 500 for zooming and 400 for the at home bleaching. That's in SC though. Hope this helps!

ETA: I just finished my leg workout from Slow and Heavy!!! I'm beat! Used really heavy weights and tried to beat myself up with the weight equipment!!! UGH! Anyway it's done and I feel good?

Have a great night everyone!

Lisa, if I remember right when I had my teeth bleached it was around 300 dollars. I may be wrong though. It has been awhile. It was really worth it. I got the bleaching trays made too to keep them up afterward.

Lora, thanks for the recommendations. I had not thought of spritzing with water. That just may work. Sometimes if I put to much moisturizer on I break out where i put it. I used to use a lot of the Mark products when my dd and dil sold Avon. I recently threw some shadows out. Also rediscovered the liners. They are pretty waterproof. I think I have been a makeup and skincare junkie too. I keep having to clean out old stuff and throw it away. I keep telling myself that if it is around for several years I am probably not going to use it LOL My minerals are special though. My one dd and I both agree that it would be hard to go back to regular foundation. Have you tried Mary Kay products?? I used to use those a lot. Not real impressed with most of it though. My niece just started selling it. They are switching out everything to minerals now. My dil bought some of the mineral makeup. Not a huge selection of shadows though and they look like they are pressed powder shadows. They do have the loose powder mineral makeup though. Some of the skin care products are not bad though.

I got my new Oxygen Magazine in the mail today. It has an Kettlebell workout in it. So reading the quote at the bottom of the page they can give you a rounder perkier butt??? I guess I am kind of a skeptic because these have been around for years. Most of the moves do not seem much different than what you get with weights or medicine balls. Plus swinging something around makes me think injuries are more likely to happen. Personally I feel like they are just another way to get people to spend money. Still on the fence about spending for these.

Diane Sue - Not trying to enable or "stick up" for KB training....but I will say that they way they work your legs is different than traditional weights. They take the Range of Motion thing seriously and when you do squats and such, you go ALL the way down to the floor. Also, the Swings which are a base move, work your core and low back (making it stronger). There is something to be said about the "ballistic" type of swinging movements you do with KB's. My DH says the same thing......that it looks like an injury waiting to happen....but i find it to be just the oppositie. Just like ballistic stretching feels good, thus...the swinging and ballistic weighted movements feel good on the joints and sort of loosens the shoulders and upper back up.

Lisa........feel free to step in here and help me out girl. You're more knowledgeable than me.....but I seriously find them to be a totally different way to train.

I don't necessarily think they are "better" than weights, I just think they are a good addition to what you currently do and a really good way to change things up and work on your functional fitness. Plus they are fun and different to keep you from gettting bored.

But my favorite reason for lovin' them is the LOW Impact and I mean zero impact cardio workout you get with them. Just doing a clean, high swing, Snatch combo today, got my HR up in the 140's with my legs planted perfectly still.....zero impact.

They are not everyone's cup of tea and I Would NEVER just do KBs and omit weight training, as that would not be balanced in my opinion.
