Lora, my doctor did not tell me to quit working out. When it flares I do more low impact work. Running on the treadmill doing hills aggravates it. I can do a lower intensity on a flat treadmill. I went over everything I do with my dr who says she has it too. She says I am doing everything right. I freeze a water bottle and roll it around under my foot a few times a day. Especailly after a workout. Anti inflamitories help. I don't like useing them to much. Also I massage my foot, stretch it a lot like calf stretches. They say to strengthen the calves as well. I also like to do the shin exercises like Cathe uses where you pull against the ball with you toes. She said surgury sometimes causes more problems so it is better to try to take care of it. It can lead to bone spurs later on.
Janie, your bread recipe sounds good. I used to make my own bread when the children were growing up. I hardly eat any now so I don't bake it unless we have family over. I used to use the cornell triple rich formula that added extra protein and calcium to my bread. It used gluten flour, nonfat powdered milk and soy flour. I can't remember exactly how much to each cup of flour.
Charlotte, great job on the one arm push ups. Those are hard.
