Hardcore Fitness Maniacs Check In for Wed June 28

Good evening,
I did lots of packing up the trailer and house cleaning this afternoon. I also started downloading pics of Jasmine. DH took more today. We were watching video today and she has grown alot in two weeks.

Dallas, My grandchildren are all doing well. THey are out of school and we are finding things to keep them occupied.

Sandy, wouldn't you love to have even a small amount of that 3 year old energy?

Sus, It sounds like you got in a good biceps workout. Good luck with your testing tomorrow. I just hope you get the help you need. I once ran 10 miles before going and doing some lab work. I was dizzy by the time I got home.

Susan, I do PUB a lot more than I do PLB. I can always tell when I try something that I have not used in ahwile:)

Netta, hope your dog is alright. Mine picks up these pokey seed pods off of a maple we have and gets the green ones stuck in her teeth.

Had better run.

I'm home early today as I had an appointment for Lexxie (our shorthair) at 3:45. Yep, it was a foxtail. She feels much better now and so do I.

Debbie, sorry your DH is sick. I always tease my husband and tell him there's nothing sicker than a man. Glad your workout was good. Debbie, I have a few albums on my picture trail and have never paid a dime. Go for it, we'd like to see recent pictures of you, okay?

Charlotte, your pictures are awesome, you've come a long way baby! You are probably the most stubb...I mean persistent woman I know of on these boards and guess what, it's paying off. I'll never have the long, lean look, just too stumpy of legs. Maybe I'm part hobbit?

Susan CM, I always like PUB but have learned to do my bicep work first and let my arms recover a little before doing the stability ball pikes. Yep, I think I'll see if DH will do a Gilad DVD tonite. I'll let you guys know. I think Cathe intimidates him...

Marietta, wow, you ran 8 miles? You are amazing. I've never run over 4 before and that killed me. A foxtail is a weed that has a head on it that's pointed and in segments. When dry, the segments come apart and will stick to your socks, shoelaces, and will work their way into a dogs ear (pointed end first). There's no getting them out once they go down inside, except by a vet.

Hi Terri, hope you schedule lots of stuff that keeps you occupied this weekend. We will just be relaxing, camping, riding bikes, taking the dogs for a swim, etc.

Hi Dallas, enjoy the pool. I'm not getting in the yoga that I want but a little here and there. Debbie's rotation keeps me pretty busy with cardio & weights. Re: the weighted vest, I could probably use it in these high winds that I think are coming soon. The thunder is really bumping right now. We've had lots of fires the last couple of days. Much smoke in the air.

Hi Suz, sounds like your workout was a good one for upper body. You are really strong, wow 22 1/2#. I don't even own a 20#er yet. Keep us posted on your dr. appointment. I asked my friend today about his exercise induced asthma (this smoke is really getting to him). He takes something daily that he crushes and something else I couldn't remember. He uses his inhaler only if he has to. For some reason he doesn't like using it if he really doesn't have to. And yes, my bike has a triple and I do use the granny gears. All of the ladies have triples and a lot of the guys (except the racers). We have lots of hills and they do come in handy. I'm not ashamed to use em either. Glad you are getting Gizmo fixed up again. So glad I got Lexxie in today to get that foxtail out.

Sandy, glad to see you back. Hope you had a great time on vacation. We'll be gone for about 5 days this weekend and I think I will pack the weights along. I'd like to get in a couple of days. I remember there was a traveling weight work somewhere. Where'd I put it? Way to go on your weight!! Sounds like whatever you're doing is really working.

Diane Sue, another great workout for you. Can't wait to see pictures of Jasmine. I just love puppies. My DH and I just get so bonded to them. Hope the eye appointment is good for you and also the dentist appointment. Boy, what would we do without insurance? Seed pods? Guess it must be a regional thing. The foxtails are bad enough. The vet said they've seen a lot of dogs for foxtails here lately. I've got to start packing stuff up for the trailer too. I'm looking into buying a generator. We camp a lot of times with no hookups. Would be nice to have one of those quiet little Honda generators. Then I could blow dry my hair and curl it. Really roughing it, huh?

Must go now,

Jeanette

Netta, those seed pods are the last to drop in fall and still afew keep dropping. They are fairly large and our mulcher will not pick them all up. We give our grandchildren money to fill up buckets with them. I pick them up when I clean after the dog. But the tree is a huge shade tree. We have a generator but have yet to take it and use it. We bought it for a trip to Washington to visit SIL who has a large piece of land, but something came up and we did not get to go. Someday we will use it. I guess I am spoiled because we always look for modern hookups and I blow dry my hair:)
