Hardcore Fitness Maniacs Check In for Mon June 3

Cathlete
Morning Fit Ladies -

This morning I did P90X Core Synergestics and listened to Buckcherry.

Okay....ugh...it's Monday. I had to say it. I didn't want to get up and I've been dreading my workouts ever since I started this P90X rotation. I don't know why, as I've followed rotations before. I think part of it is cuz I'm so nervous about cutting back on my cardio. I really can't afford to gain any more weight. I'll try to stick with it....we'll see.

Someone on the VF forum posted that they did that Look Great in 8 rotation from Muscle & Fitness for Her and they had good results. That's the one I was thinking of doing before I started this. I can't wait for Cathe's new stuff to come out and those Barry Bootcamp ones.

For the yoga ladies who like Eion, his new DVD is out on July 8. I'll be ordering it for sure.

Well ...at least I'm off tomorrow and my boss isn't there today. That takes some of the sting out of this Monday. :7

Have great workouts and I'll try to check in from work later.

Good Morning,

I wanted to post last night, but my computer was being funky. Anyway, yesterday I did Gauntlet and C&W abs. Love that one!!

Today I did L&G standing. I'm not going to do Cathe's July rotation.

Yesterday my husband and I cleared out ds room to get ready to paint tomorrow. He'll be so excited when gets home to see it. I chose a shade of green.

Lora, P90X is the only yoga dvd I own ~ and I dont like it very much. I just can’t get past that guy sweating so nasty! I try not to look, but it’s like a train wreck...hahaha j/k. I printed that article Look great in eight out a loooong time ago. It's a pretty good rotation. It’s something different each week. If I recall, I didn’t care for the food plan they had.

Well, got to get ready for work. I'll be back later to see what everyone else is up to.

Susan

This morning I did Step, Jump & Pump Step only premix, Cardio & Weights Step premix and C&W abs. Had a great workout and was sweating buckets. Had the air on, too, didn't make much difference with the sweating.

I was in my zone for 50 minutes (!!!) and burned 328 calories!

Have a great workout everyone!

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Yesterday I rode my bike 10 miles in the morning. Later I worked chest/back and did 1000 crunches with dd's boyfriend while dd was in the shower. The boy totally drenched my mat when doing the crunches and all the way to the floor as well...GOSH! He called me a machine and I told him to keep count of the reps cuz if we forget then we have to start over! LOL! So this is what we did:

db flyes
bench
pullovers
lat pulldowns
pulldowns behind neck for back
pushups
1000 crunches from all angles

I also worked legs after church and did 3 sets of 20 hamstring curls 35# (need to go to 40# next time, and doing on a decline), leg curls (60#), squats (80# so I can go down all the way and feel my glutes squeeze), plie squats (80# also and deadlifts (deadlifts with 80#) Total workout time was 5 hours, but I had alot of carbs from the picnic that was leftover...potato salad, garden salad. Talk about energy, I was able to do 4, 4, 3 for bench at 75#!!!! That is good for me!

Today I will be riding a horse this morning with the family as we are celebrating Father's Day today instead of a few weeks ago. I want to work my arms later today.

Lora,

Glad your boss is away! WHEW!

Charlotte~~

Damn Charlotte, excellent workout, you MANIAC!!! I'll get to 75# soon with my bench I hope! I'm working legs tomorrow so I can't wait to do the hamstring curls on my bench again.

YOU ROCK! :)

Debbie,

I really like doing the decline better. I feel like I can up my weights more with the seat raised and the bench part declined. It forces all the work in the hamstrings as you can't arch your back.

Charlotte~~

Charlotte - So you mean the part of the bench where you lay on your back with to do chest presses? Thats what you are declining? I think I asked you last week if you've ever tried it that way. I will try it that way tomorrow. Maybe I can get a better contraction.

Do you have a Power Tower like Diane Sue has? I'm looking to get one. I hear Dick's has one for sale so I'm going there either today after work or tomorrow to check it out. I have a $10 off coupon too.

Good Morning Maniacs!!

This morning I did Step Blast. Hadn't done that in a while. It was a good little workout. I'll probably do the elliptical and some shoulder work at lunch. Was thinking about running but it's way to hot out there and I'm not feelin it.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Hi Everyone!

I have to make this quick, I'm supposed to be cleaning. I have cleaning ADD. LOL!

I did MM and the treadmill over the weekend. Wow, my glutes were feeling it!

Today, I did PS -Chest and triceps, 20 min of Ab Hits, RS for cardio and then a stretch. I can't believe I remembered the choreography for RS. I love the step challenge at the end. It makes me think what a genius Cathe is putting all that together...it flows so nicely. :) I didn't burn as many calories as I would have liked, but I took it easy on a lot of the power moves. You know first time doing it in a long time.

Tomorrow, I'm going to a spin class before our BBQ. I can't wait. I'm supposed to do PS -Legs tomorrow. I was going to get up early to do this, but do you think that's too much? I know I'm talking to you maniacs!! LOL!

Have great days and Fourth's...just in case I don't make it back here.

Good afternoon!

This morning I did a 20 mile ride with my girlfriend. Our average speed was up a little bit which made me happy. :) We go through town a little bit and that always slows us down. I used the inhaler before I went and it made NO difference. Guess it's not asthma. Maybe it's just that I have weak legs and/or I ride with people who are crazy fast and they are killing me (even though I was like this long before that)? Are you all tired of me whining yet? I know I need to just wait until I go back and she has all the test results, but so far I'm looking pretty healthy (which is a good thing, I know). Would having such a high heart rate make my breathing more labored even though my heart is 100% strong? As you know it's in the 170's and 180's A LOT.

Tomorrow morning three of us are planning a ride - maybe 30 or 40 miles since we're off work and have more time. DH is off too so I don't want to be gone too long. We're going to start a little later - 7am - so we can sleep in a little (of course I have a really hard time sleeping past 4:30, but I'll give it my best effort).

Lora - glad you have a break from your boss.

Charlotte - way to scare the boys away from DD!

Susan - you should post pics of your son's room when you're finished.

Debbie - great workout!!!

Marietta - have I mentioned I like your new signature? I've either mentioned it 10 times or I've totally forgotten to. Old age...

Dallas - in my humble opinion, I would not do legs before you spin. I think your legs will be too fatigued. I have to be careful not to lift legs too close to a hard ride. I meant to lift Saturday and take yesterday off because of today and tomorrow's rides, but I didn't get it done and had to do it yesterday. My legs definitely felt it this morning. They were much more tired. I just think you'll get a better spin workout if your legs are fresh. Maybe you can lift when you get home or on Wednesday?

Hey Everyone,
Looks like you all had some good workouts today!!

I just got done doing TJ cardio party 2, and then I did PS chest. I have decided to pull PS out and *try* and stick with a 1-2 bodyparts per day.... I would really like to stick to a PS rotation for ahwile!! I have been switching to much, and not sticking with one thing.....Wish me luck!!

Dallas I agree with Suz!! I know my legs are fried when I do any of Cathes workouts!!

Susan I think your ds is going to love that you are doing his room!! What a nice surprise!!

Diane Sue I enjoyed seeing the picture of Jasmine!!.

Marietta I never enjoyed baseball until my boys got really into it.... Now I am like......... addicted ha ha.

Suz I can get my Heartrate up the 180's when I am doing some of my workouts.....when it starts to get that high I start marching for a minute and wait for it to come done to the 160's. Sometimes my breathing can get labored......Depends on the season with allergys and all. Good luck, and just slow those little legs done a bit with you feel it rising!!

Take care, and hello to everyone!!

Hey there Nicole!

Good luck sticking with a rotation. I don't think I could do it. My workouts seem to depend on my mood. :)

I don't think I could ever keep my HR in the 160's. It just shoots up so fast. I'm just one of those people who has a high HR. I'd be going a bit too slow if it were in the 160's - and we can't have that. I'm just too dang competitive! I know I'm not going to beat my two fast friends b/c they're just amazing cyclists, but I'm going to do everything in my power to keep up with them (and of course pass the ocassional guy like I did last week). :p
