Morning Ladies -

Happy St. Patrick's Day! This morning I overslept. I didn't even hear my alarm going off.....yikes! I only had time to do Core Cardio and about 10 minutes of yoga (certainly not enough).

Have great workouts everyone.

ETA: My allergy testing was all negative. My arms look like a battle ground. Also - yes, I bought the Turbo Jams last night. I got the 20% off email.

Morning ladies!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Lora-Sorry you over slept this morning. Try some yoga at work again today. haha I have that allergy testing done again in April, I go to Wisconsin to an allergy specialist. There are quite a few things I am allergic to. They do leave a nice road map on your arm when they are done. lol The 20% off was nice on the Turbo Jam's, I just wish I would have remembered to use the $5 off I had on my next order. Crud! I need to order the TLT's now. Are there ever any specials on them?

How is everyone today? What is everyone up to this weekend?

I jumped on my mini trampoline again last night. I was having a hard time watching the movie we rented so I had to stop. lol

I will be back later!

Hey Everyone,
Well I am some kind of stomach virus:-( Up all night I just got the kids to school, and now I am going to go back to bed;-) Hopefully I will feel better this afternoon or tonight so I can get some kind of workout in, but if not....Oh Well:)

Sabrina and Lora you will have to keep me posted about the new turbo jams. They look like fun.... How much do they run??

Dallas I paid 50 or 60 bucks for my slim in 6. So that is a good price, but I do have to say..... I rarely do the 1st 2 workouts, but they are nice if you are coming off of being sick....I really like *Burn it up* , and then the Slim in limber stretch... I have to say I have gotten my moneys worth, and have used that stretch A LOT!! It is 14 minutes. It is such a nice stretch... I think because it is mostly floor:D Hope this helps.....Terri feel free to add anything:)

Terri wait and see what Christine reveiws have to say about the TLT's... I think you will like SIM or EFM more than BBBB..... I can still feel doms in my butt from doing SIM Wednesday.:)

Lora happy to hear you are having good results with your rotation!! You go girl!!

Diane Sue it is nice to see you drop in!! Happy to hear you are having such a good time having your DH home:D

Hello to everyone that follows... I am off to catch up on my ZZZZZZZZZZZZs..

~Nicole

Good Morning All!

Lora ~ I overslept too!! I swear this always happens right before TTOM. (Sorry TMI?)

Sabrina ~ We'll have to hear reviews from you and Lora about the new Turbo Jams. I have too many videos already. I can't order anymore! lol

Nicole ~ Awww, hope you feel better soon. That stinks!;(

Marietta ~ I e-mailed you about what the foot dr. said I have. Anxious to hear what your thoughts are.

Susan ~ Thanks for the reply. How's sleeping going for you?

Terri ~ How's your dad? Ashley? How are you holding up?

Diane Sue ~ Glad to see you back. Is you dh still home?

Christine ~ Have you tried all the TLT's now? I have EFM or SIM still to try.

Charlotte ~ How did LM go yesterday? Did you get a bike ride in as well?

I'm off to do the treadmill and this workout I picked up at Target, Karen Voight on the ball. I think that was the name of it.

Have great workouts everyone!

Dallas

Nicole--Sorry you are not feeling well. Get plenty of rest! The Turbo Jam's are $57.83 with shipping and a 20% discount (in an email they sent is where you get the 20%). Not sure what Lora paid.

Dallas--How was your workout? Was the new DVD any good? Did you find a bikini yet? I bet your kids are getting excited.

My boss just left for a minute -- Yes, that's what I paid for the Turbo Jam's. You can't combine coupons either. Don't even try it, cuz then you'll be stuck with the lesser discount only. My stomach flu is starting to feel a little better today and now I'm wondering if I really need that rest day tomorrow x(

I'll try to pop back later. I doubt I can do yoga here today. That was just cuz they all had a meeting together yesterday, so I was alone for 1/2 hour. Rarely happens like that here!

I forgot - I did 20 minutes of Sara Ivanhoe's 20 minute Makeover Yoga last night. I did the legs & butt one. These are really good mini practices. I'm quite impressed with this set. It has a lot of variety and is a good balance of poses in 20 minutes.

Dallas - I am on such a yoga roll.....I'm running out of room for all of my DVDs! I have SO MANY. I broke down and ordered Bryan Kest on DVD this morning too. I'll have to try to sell my VHS versions on E-bay. Maybe someone here can buy them LOL!

*Strolls in wearing big green top hat covered with shamrocks on those boingy wires*

Happy St. Paddy's Day all! I actually forgot about it and am wearing red, but hey, I look horrible in green anyway...

Did a nice little combination this morning - GS BSB, Core Max # 2 and Rodney's Yee's Yoga for Athletes - Mini workout for Cyclists. I'm feeling good, and I'm thinking that I should try my last Spinerval workout this afternoon at the gym (audio)

Lora - Oh I hate when I over sleep! Hope your day is getting better! I love yoga too, but I just cannot seem to fit it in to my workouts. So, I'm hoping these Mini workouts from Rodney will help me bring it back into my life!

Sabrina and Dallas - I JUST ordered SIM and EFM. They're shipping today - and I put them in my rotation for next week. As soon as I do them, I'll let you know. I do like BBBB, but I'm not thrilled with FYC. I think I need to do FYC again - I had different expectations and I'm finding you cannot go into these workouts with expectations.

Nicole - oh I hope you're feeling better! I hate tummy bugs.

I sincerely hope I don't get talked into the Turbo Jams too... You ladies are heck on my charge card! LOL...

Wishing y'all a fab day. I hope it's nice and slow at work.

Hi all,

I might take today off. I didn’t get to the treadmill yesterday, but have some doms from PH! Especially in my triceps.

I have some errands to run, clean up the house before dh gets home and I’m going a St. Patrick ’s Day party tonight! I’m looking forward to the fun!!

Nicole, sorry you don’t feel well. That’s a bummer. I hope you get better over the weekend.

Terri, how is your family? Is your dad feeling better and remembering to take his medicine?

Diane Sue, nice to have you back!

Christine, I look forward to hear your thoughts too on the TLT’s.

Hi Marietta, Sabrina, Charlotte and Lora,

Got to get ds on the school bus.

Susan

Susan C.M.

Good Afternoon Maniacs!

Just got back from visiting my eye doctor. I am one boring patient. 20/20 vision and nothing wrong with the inside/outside of my eyes either. Stopped at Wal Mart for more red grapes. Live off them things. Popping them in my mouth all the way home. I know, I should clean them first, but I wanted them NOW!

Yesterday I did lowmax, coremax 1 and PUB (shoulders, biceps and triceps). Today I am going to do BBM, all three sets w/weights and PUB (chest/back). I am not feeling the energy though so give me all your good vibes!!! I am going to do it though. I can rest later, right?

Lora,

So glad you are feeling better. Are you the queen of workout video's or something. Gosh, girl it sounds like you have more then you can keep up with...but your having fun, huh? You will never be bored!!!! LOL!

Dallas,

I forgot how tough Lowmax can be, but I am really starting to get down some of these stepping moves. I cannot believe that I am actually starting to like stepping. Now I just need to get a bigger stepper. I only have the cube size one so it is tricky! LOL!

Nicole,

Hope you feel better! You are such a maniac though, it probably won't hang around for too much longer! Your body will fight it off quick healthy one!

Sabrina,

I can't jump on a trampoline without wanting to pee. LOL! I always have to go to the bathroom and empty my bladder before I do any blast moves too! I don't want to blast anything out! LOL!

Marietta,

You must be running again? How your "guys" doing? LOL!

Hello to Diane Sue and anyone else I missed!!

Charlotte~~

Afternoon All!

I just looked down at my fingers and they are BLUE! I guess I'm THAT cold! Brrr. Time for some hot green tea. :9

I ended up doing 45 minutes on the treadmill. I brought the incline down a bit. I'm thinking it may be aggravating my foot. No pain, but you never know what's going on in there. :-(

Sabrina ~ I did that Karen Voight one too. When she finished abs, I was like you have to be kidding?! Very short. Anyway, I ended up doing the DVD twice. Good music. I think it's the same as CTX. The floor work for the legs and butt got my hamstrings good! I guess I should have read the running time. It's only 25 minutes. No, bikini yet. Hopefully tonight I'll find all that I need!

Lora ~ Ms. Video Queen. lol I was going to post a thread, but thought I'd ask you first. What lower body work outs could you recommend? I'm looking for some tough floor work like in GSL and PLB. It looks like it's going to be longer than I thought before I can do standing leg work. ;( Thanks!

Charlotte ~ Glad you're starting to like step. I miss it soooo much!

Christine ~ Good workout!

Nicole ~ Are you feeling better yet? I'm going to try another veggie soup recipe this weekend. I'll let you know if this one turns out better.

Have a great evening everyone!

Dallas

Dallas - hope that ankle feels better soon!

Question to those who just bought Turbo Jam... are these tough like a Cathe Kick Box, or Power Strike workout, or are they more on par with a Tae Bo workout. And why should I buy them? *cannot believe I just said that - I'm going to be SOOO divorced*

Christine - Where do you get Spinervals? Do you have to have a spin bike or can you use a regular stationary bike? I'm interested. I also bought Rodney Yee's Yoga for Athlete's for the same reason. I then bought a couple new yoga DVDs and they made me feel so good that I'm making time for them. I'm trying to get up a bit earlier every day and fit more in on the weekends. I'm even going to do a recovery week every 4 weeks or so just so I can do yoga and aerobics for a week off of weights. I also bought the Mark Blanchard Trilogy set from Amazon this morning. They are 90 minutes each and tough. Anyway, before I keep babbling....Sara Ivanhoe's set from Amazon are 5 DVDs and they are 20 minutes each. I can't believe how good the mini workouts are. You should look for them on E-bay, maybe? I also bought a book to read about yoga. I'm trying to heal my emotional stuff, as well as hopefully healing other areas I have problems, i.e., sinuses, stomach/digestive system, bulging disc in neck, etc. We'll see how it works for me.

Dallas - that's a tough one about a legs & butt workout. I'll need to think about this one. I'd have to say power yoga frying my legs right now. Did you try Janis Saffell "Brand New Butt" yet? I think to get a Cathe intensity type of workout, do BNB followed by Better Burn, Better Buns, some Gliding & then some Kathy Kaehler leg work. She was always the toughest with leg floorwork. Her or Karen Voight's leg work in that Weighted workout she has that's 90 minutes long. Oh, and I'd throw Lotte Berk's Leg one on the end of that!! That should fry your legs for a week.

ETA: Re; Turbojams - The TurboJam’s get my heart rate up higher than any other kickboxing. It really depends on how picky you are about an instructor though. There are a few minor annoyances I get from Chalene. Also, she does a lot of “shake your booty” sort of stuff, but I find her extremely motivating and, like I said, she really gets my heart rate flying and the music is really good! They are a real mood elevator for me.

Lora - you can get Spinervals from www.spinervals.com. I've ordered from them twice and have had excellent results. So I do recommend them. You can use a regular stationary bike if you can adjust the tension like you can on a spin bike. He talks you through tension settings along with the chain ring settings on a bike/trainer combo. He ranks it from 1-5 with 5 being the toughest. Another option is the Cardio Coach - which can translate to any machine.

Thanks for the suggestions on the Yoga - I've heard the Sara Ivanhoe is great, and I can usually squeeze in a 20 minute workout. I'll definitely look into her. I hope they do work for you. I've heard such good things. My DH's uncle is 80 and has been practicing yoga for 60 years. The man is more flexible than most 20 year olds I know and is healthy as a horse. It has to do something!

Have you tried the Power Strikes? They kick my butt... Literally. (After PS 1 I'm sore in the glutes for days).

Hey Thanks everyone...My gut is still not normal, but I think it will be a fast bug???..I am going to try doing my workout when my dd6 goes to a b-day party this evening.

Well I tried laying down and going back to bed..........and could not sleep:eek: So I guess I will sleep like a baby tonight:D

Dallas Burn it up has KILLER floor workout..... My butt is fried when I do that one, and I can't even get through it.... Has donkey kicks.... etc....It is maybe 10-15min.... I will look to see how long it is??? Terri??? Lora??

Also Karen voight has a good was with the resistance ring.

Well I have 2 weeks left of this current rotation, and since I was not feeling well today I started shopping around for another rotation. I would like your imput on what rotation I should do.. I plan on starting after the Easter...

I would like to lean out more, but improve my good muscle tone?? These are the 2 rotations that I can't decide between? What do you think??

Should I do this one???

Or should I do this one??

Susan I see you have been doing PH alot lately... I remember I did that one (Killer workout btw) and I had really good results. Do you think you do better with Total body vs. splits???

Christine I agree with you on FYC.. It took me quite a few times, but now I really like it!! I can now do all that wicked workout on the ball, and I LOVE how she use's the ball for dumbell rows!! I use my ball like that today when I do GS BSB:D

Charlotte Hey girl you are looking GOOD!! Wish my belly looked like yours:7 I still have a little layer that I am working on!! HARD... Hoping I can get rid of it by summer. What do you think of those rotations I posted... Hey your arms look really good to!!

Hey Terri where are you gals today?? Terri I hope your dad is doing well, and hope you are doing well!!

Marietta that goes to you as well...

~NIcole

Nicole,
I've been doing PH every other day because I like how it's structured. I like that you work one body part at a time and heavy weights are not used. I like doing the total body right now since I'm getting used to using weights and gradually go heavier each workout.
I think starting next week I'm going to do splits. I was thinking cardio with PS series.
I'm trying to make stupid muffins to bring to a friend tonight and keep over cooking them. I'll check out your links tomorrow.

Gotta run again...I'm so embarrassed I cant bake.
Susan C.M.

Ladies - I have to say something here, and forgive my bout of sappiness, but I was at the gym today on the bike, "climbing" a hill with Spinervals when I looked at my arms holding on the handle bars and thought, "What the...? Whose arms are those?" Then I realized that those nicely toned, much slimmer arms were MINE!!! Holy cow! I've always liked to work out, but found many convenient excuses not to do the second workout of the day. (Even today, I was cozy warm at work and it was nasty rainy outside). But knowing that I have to report to y'all has given me that push to get my butt moving and to the gym. So THANK YOU! I hope you dear wonderful ladies have the most fabulous weekend ever! {{{HUGS}}} to all of you! (And especially Dallas for pushing me to join y'all). (And NO! I have no been hitting the green beer! :p)
