Hardcore Fitness Maniacs April 2025

Damn, where did March go? And it's even a long month!! Crazy.

This morning I did two workouts: RAW Box 4 Your Waistline and RAW TBTS Sculpt Shadow Boxing. Both great workouts and my core area is feeling it. Love these workouts. I used my egg weights for the Waistline one and 3# dumbbells for the Sculpting one. Burners!!

Workout was 52 minutes, burned 422 calories, did 3775 steps and HR was 144/175.

Belinda - My birthday was great!! Nice job with your workout!

Roselyn - I know, right? Where did March go!? Nice workout!

Diane - Great workout yesterday!! Looks like a great one. Sort of wish I ordered that series. And I agree, I'm definitely not as strict with my eating anymore (which, it's showing!) so I let myself enjoy it. I do well during the week.

Jolie - Nice job with your workouts during the weekend! Good luck with your dentist appointment today.

Have a great day and workouts everyone!!

Today I did LITE Cardio Party, 40 minutes, 267 calories, heart rate 139/161, 3,857 steps. I finished with CDorner Mobility she did today and skipped the meditation part, 26 minutes, 55 calories. Total Time 66 minutes, 317 calories. Cardio has always been a cardio workout with the blend of hi/lo and boxing. I used to do it a lot. I preordered the LMR 2 workouts Sunday.

Belinda, good job on the STS 2 mini ball abs and mat yoga today.

Debbie, nice mix of workouts today. I have to be careful with the boxing. What I did today was okay though. My costochondritis is back and my back and ribs really hurt. I have not used the back pod as much because the book that came with it suggested being careful with Rheumatoid arthritis. Maybe put a towel or something over it. Since they said something about t7 vertebrae compression when I had the Chest CT, I got a little worried. I overdid with the weights and core yesterday and had a miserable night.

Roselyn, nice work on Chest and back today. They have been saying storms possibly severe here today, but so far it is just very windy and cloudy. We had hail this weekend. I hope you do not have more.

This morning I did STS 2.0 Body Parts Back and had an excellent workout. I have been having some excellent lifting days lately. I changed this up a bit, I feel like there is way too much band work in this one.

This is how it went - 1 minute (for the most part) rest between exercises

Straight Arm Banded Pulldown: 15# bands - 2 sets/12 reps
Double Bar Inverted Rows: I did overhand band pulls - 50# bands - 8 reps
Single Bar Chin up: I did underhand band pulls - 50# bands - 8 reps
Double Bar Inverted Rows: I did T-Bar Rows - 40# - 8 reps
Single Bar Chin up: I did T-Bar Rows - 40# - 8 reps
R/L Kneeling One Arm Row: 30# - 10 sets
R/L Kneeling One Arm Row: 30# - 10 sets
Barbell Pullover/Band Pull Apart superset: 30#DB/30# band - 2 sets/10 & 12 reps
Barbell Pendlay Row/Shrugs: 50# for both exercises - 3 sets 8 & 10 reps
Band Close Grip Pulldowns: 45# bands - 2 sets/10 reps
Seated T-Band Pulls: 15# band - 12 reps
Superman swimmers: I did these

Workout time was 46 minutes, burned 218 calories, HR was 104/130.

Roselyn - We are supposed to get bad storms this morning until noon. Hasn't hit yet but it will. We've been getting a lot of rain lately. I hope you guys don't get any more damage! Was your house majorly damaged? I didn't know you guys had a tornado! Wow!! Nice job with your workout.

Diane - Meditation is not for me, I just don't have the patience to sit and veg. I know it's good for you, but I just can't do it. Nice job on your workout. I thought the back pod helped you a lot last time? Maybe use it but not every day? I'm sorry you are in pain again. That is not fun.

Have a great day everyone!

This morning I did RAW Box, Band and Abs. I love this workout. The music is ok, just a bit too rappy for me, but it has 80's music mixed in some of the songs. It's pretty good.

Tabata Style: 30 seconds on/10 seconds off

Boxing Drill: 1.5# Egg Weights
Squat Pulse w/Band: Purple Cloth Band (heaviest band I have)
Abs: Seated Knee Pulls

Boxing Drill
: 1.5# Egg Weights
Squat Out w/Band: Purple Cloth Band
Abs: Reverse Curls

Boxing Drill
: 1.5# Egg Weights
Firewalkers: Green Elastic Band
Abs: Plank Knee-In: I did Russian Twists w/8# med ball

Then I did a little of RAW Yoga but ran out of time quickly. I really want to do that one all the way through one of these day.

Total workout was 51 minutes, burned 363 calories, did 2530 steps and HR was 132/173.

Belinda and Roselyn - Nice workouts!

Have a great day everyone! This list is quiet...

Sorry I have been MIA the past few days, but I got a lot accomplished! Monday I walked the pup both in the am and pm. Tuesday was my rest day because of my dentist appointment, and I go back in 2 weeks to have the crown placed, which is very easy. No dental appointments till I get the implant done and that will be done in about 5 to 6 months depending how my bone has healed. Today I had an excellent workout. I did CL #163 Buff Upper Body and it was really good. I originally did this workout in 2018 and I have no idea when I have done it since. I will be feeling it in my ABs tomorrow for sure!

It is amazing how many doctors' appointments we have each year as we get older! So many scans and checkups, when we were young, I only went for my annual exam. I still have to get a mammogram and some things done to my skin soon :(

Debbie, great job on the workouts this week thus far! I think about signing up with Kelly again but then I don't because I want to focus on putting on muscle so I think I may start the original STS program soon.
I really like slow weightlifting programs now; I hate going fast and not focusing on form. Now that I am doing that, I only go to the Chiro once a month if that! I read that after menopause, women should do less high intensity workouts and focus on slow and controlled weightlifting with walking as much as possible. I switch to this type program 9 months ago and my body has responded really well.

Wow on the storms that everyone is experiencing lately. Tornados scare the crap out of me!

Diane Sue, how is your pup doing? I bet he is keeping you company and very busy :) Do you take him out for long walks? I love to do a do walk if it sunny, but I do not like to do it when it is overcast and cold.

Great job on the workouts everyone.

Make it a great day.

This morning I did STS 2 Biceps (One Body Part) and had a great workout. I know I could go heavier, but every time I do my elbows start to hurt. I love this workout.

This is the workout:
Barbell Curls: 35# - 2 sets/8 reps
Barbell Curl/Pause Reps: 30# - 8 rep
Kneeling Alt. Sweeper Curls: 16's - 8 reps (I did these seated)
Kneeling Double Arm Sweeper Curls: 16's - 8 reps (I them seated)
Hammer Curls: 20's - 8 reps
CrossBody Curls: 16's - 8 reps
Kneeling Hammer/CrossBody Curls: 16's - 6 reps (I did them standing)
Incline Curls on Stability Ball: 16's - 2 sets/10 reps
Single Arm Preacher Curls: 17.5# - 2 sets/8 reps (I did concentration curls because the way she does these on the stability ball does not feel right to me)
Banded Dumbbell Curls: 15# band plus 5's - Lots of reps
Reverse Curls: 12's - 2 sets/12 reps
Barbell Wrist Curls: (skipped)

Then I got on my treadmill for 15 minutes and walked almost about .75 miles. Total workout was 51 minutes, burned 296 calories, (seemed way low), HR was 114/149.

Jolie - Thankfully I don't have many doctor appointments. Luckily I did not get sick this winter and only have my yearly physical coming up at the end of this month. I'm good with that!! Although I guess if you are counting dental, eye and mammograms (I have thermal imaging done) then I guess I have 4 appointments a year. I want to look through Cathe's strength workouts I have on DVD. I was thinking of doing Strong and Sweaty (I think that's the series) but after looking at my workout sheets, they are long workouts and high reps. I like heavy workouts and low reps so need to find a few different ones to do. Anyways, I'm liking more the weight training now than cardio, at least as long as I don't get hurt!!

Diane - How are you? I hope you are doing better, I've seen you doing stretch and yoga workouts so hopefully things are getting better for you. How's your pup doing?

Have a great weekend everyone!!

No workout today. I am tired and watching Amazon for a sofa that we have going to my youngest daughter's house. It says delivery today UPS, but still does not say out for delivery. I need to let her know when it is arriving and she may need help with assembly. DH is going to be at work in an hour. Maybe rains are slowing it down. I hurt so bad yesterday and even worse last night. My right shoulder suddenly started burning and so painful for no apparent reason. I ended up icing it and swallowed some magnesium I just got. I have had a lot of cramping and pain in my upper arms. Hip and knees are hurting and I just decided I would just do nothing today. Wednesday I did Lift Move and Restore functional lower body skipping the step portion and standing band work(timesaver #5) lightening up a bit and adding the balance discs, 60 minutes, 177 calories. Followed with LMR foam roller lower body 18 minutes, 47 calories. Yesterday I did Lift Move & Restore Functional mobility fusion and bonus cardio, 52 minutes, 210 calories, heart rate 104/153. I was hoping that would loosen things up, but only got worse. I sent a message to my Rheumatologist about this medicine. My blood pressure is high. I usually can keep it in the normal zone. I have been eating bananas and beets and everything good for blood pressure  I feel weak and unmotivated.

We have had a lot of rain so have not taken Harvey for many walks. He is hard to walk. He has finally learned how to go in and out the doggie door. Although he is slower to go out than to come in because he wants me to go outside with him and throw the ball. We needed the rain though. It just sort of keeps us from getting outside much. All I have to do is say go to bed at night and he puts himself in the crate and waits for me to close the door and give him a hug and treat. He mostly likes hugs though. Treats are not that big of a deal for him which makes training with treats not an ideal thing. He is a wild thing first thing in the morning, and I have to keep him from jumping all over me. He weighs in at close to 50 # right now.

Debbie, nice job on Raw Box, Bands, and Abs yesterday and STS 2 Biceps today. I have plenty of dr appointments coming up. Some are my regular ones though. I really prefer 8 to 10 reps at a slower pace. Easier to be safe instead of hurrying or fling weights around fast. The benefit of faster is more of a calorie burn, but I do not worry about that that much. I would rather add a short cardio workout that work with weights fast. I use Raw Yoga a lot because it is only 15 minutes and a good stretch with pleasant music.

Jolie, it looks like you have been busy with walks, CL #163 Buff Upper Body. I am pretty sure that I have done that one, but it would be around 2019 or 20. I hope the next time the crown goes well with no problems. I guess aging changes how many appointments and meds.

Belinda, nice work on LMR lower body and your walk.

Roselyn, good job on Chest Shoulders and Triceps.

I did back bis today

So i broke down and I am going to try the CGX app, I only did a month but she is releasing a new series Monday, I think going to see what the app is all about

Hi,

What an adventure yesterday.. DH and I went grocery shopping at Costco. Sometimes we take the country road, sometimes we take the highway. Yesterday we took the country road, we were greeted by a bunch of goats and sheep. We are like what are we suppose to do? They were running all over the place. I saw a farm house nearby,I knocked on the door..no answer. We made sure the animals were not taking off on us. We also called the police letting them know. In the meantime Dh and I tried to lure the goats and sheep into an empty fenced yard. We have no idea if those animals belong there or not, lol. We are city people not famers, lol. Took us awhile but we got them to follow us into the fenced yard except the giant goat wouldn’t listen to my husband he ran to the streets again, I stopped the goat and guided it back into the fenced yard. We were not sure if those animals even belonged to the farm (yard), at least they were not roaming around in the streets or worst running into the open fields across.Once the goats and sheep’s were safe, we went back to our car. We notified the police what we did and that them know we are not sure if those animals belonged to that farm or not. What an adventure we had yesterday.

I did Functional Mobility fusion. Didn’t felt like doing much more at this point.

Today I will do STS 2 Chest and abs. BBL
