Hardcore Fitness Maniac Hotties for 6/10

Todays workout was Chest and Triceps. Had a great workout but I pulled that damn muscle in my upper right shoulder blade area again. It was hurting yesterday so I used the tennis ball on it but it still hurts today. I need to take some Aleve.

8 minute warmup on treadmill.

1 minute rest between each set.

**Denotes drop set exercise.

CHEST
Pushups: 2 sets/20 reps
***Just for a warmup.

Incline Barbell Press:
75# - 8/8/8
***Probably could have used 80# here. This felt pretty light.

Dumbbell Press:
35's - 10/10/10
***Good weight here. Last two reps of each set was tough.

**Incline Dumbbell Flyes:
25's - 12/12/12
20's - 12
15's - 12
12's - 15
***Shoulder was clicking here a bit. I might switch and do the DB presses as the drop set next time. Flyes are dangerous for me, I think. After 3rd set of 12 I did the drop sets without any rest.

TRICEPS
Close Grip Barbell Press:
80# - 8/8/8
***Good weight for this.

Overhead Dumbbell Extension:
35# - 10/10/10

**Double-Arm Kickbacks:
12's - 12/12/12
10's - 9
8's - 9
5's - 10
***These always get me. Was struggling with the drop sets. Again, after 3rd set of 12 I did the drop sets with no rest.

That is all....

Morning! I dragged my butt out of bed and did Disc 2 STS, back and tris- good workout. I could tell I had been slacking off the past two weeks- really struggled with the pullups. DH uses an actual bar he installed and I have a woody band for it- had moved up from most resistance to middle but today I could have used the heaviest band. But anyway...

Saw Cathe on QVC- Jai and Lorraine did squats and lunges the ENTIRE segment, with the 10# vest. Talk about an endurance workout. :)

Well, ladies, I have entered the world of morning exercising! I got up at 5 am and did Turbo Jam Fat Blaster, skipping the cooldown and then Turbo Jam Lower Body Blast. That band gets ya good! I feel so good this morning. It wasnt so bad. I really got into so much that I coulda done the fat blaster cardio AGAIN if I had more time. SO glad I can go home and chill with the boys tonight.

Shana- that sounds really cool that you can make your own hours and make that job work for you! Thanks.

Deb- I think I did "something" to my upper back, under the neck the other day when I hd the BB up there, and then aggravated it Monday night doing pikes and roll ins on the ball. It is still sore today. Prob after those dang pushups in LIC last night :) Hope you feel better.

Patti- good for you for getting your arse up this morning :)

You know one of the great side effects of clean eating for me is that I sleep like a rock. To good actually because I could not get up this morning and overslept a bit.

Today was cardio and was in no mood to do layers and layers of combos so I choose IMAX3, because I hadn't done it in a long time. Well, I had another one of those crazy HR workouts. My HR hit 180 during the first blast, then hit 185 during the fourth blast , and then if that wasn't crazy enough it hit 187:eek::eek::eek: during the sixth blast. It hit 185 a few more times and stayed around 160 during the step portion. Crazy, I tell ya!

Anyway, workout was 1 hour and I burned 520 calories. Also have some good DOMS from both Upper Body on Monday and Legs yesterday. Even have bicep DOMS.:D

Well, I finally got up the nerve to get on the scale again to see what kind of damage I have done and I am happy to say I am only up a pound.:D Thought it was going to be much worse than that.

Debbie - Nice job! Sorry to hear that your shoulder hurts again.:(

Patti - Nice job on getting it done, even when you didn't feel like it!

Linda: YAY on only a pound. Mine is a wee bit more than that but it will be OK. :) You're right about sleeping better- hadn't considered that but you're right! Good reason to keep it up! I have been doing good with food, too. I feel so much better. I was just going to get on here and ask you how it was going. This WHOLE week we are sticking with it! Well, and beyond that, but one mini goal at a time. :D And hey, if IMAX 3 didn't get your HR up, I might think you're bionic.

Meg: Yahoo, doesn't it feel great to have that WO done? I love morning workouts but occasionally sleep in- it's good to do both. :)

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

I decided last minute to ride my bike. First I thought it might be too humid, but seems fine for now. So I am getting ready to take off soon and then after lunch will work chest/shoulders/tri's.

Debbie,

I didn't hear from you this morning?:(

Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did David Kirsch's 7 Day Rx, Butt and Back. I added on the Leg portion from NYB. I also did a stretch and then added Kundalini Flexibility segment. Workout was 75" and I only burned 387 calories.

I work late tonight and I've had a migraine for days now! I'm still very stressed about work, as I haven't made my new (lower) Sales Per Hour goals for the entire week so far. I didn't have 1 customer from 1-8:30 pm yesterday!

I've been looking for a medical secretary job...but every time I apply, I don't hear anything. Depressing.

Have great workouts everyone. I'm on my last week of my David Kirsch rotation and then it's back to exercise ADD!!

Are you sure your HR monitor is working ok? When mine started hitting the 180-190 I knew it needed a new battary. Does it seem to be ok during regular step intervals or is it unusually high there too? If so, you might want to change the battary. You and I must be close to the same maximum HR and mine is 176. I never hit 176, usually the highest I've ever seen my HR get is 170.

Lora, have you checked www.indeed.com - it's an excellent tool for new jobs. I'm using it right now because I'm getting out of this place come hell or high water. I can't stand it anymore. I've found a lot of good possibilities already. Check it out.

Deb - yes....that always creates a problem and it seems like SO many of them can be. I happen to have one that is a big ass and has a power problem. She also hates me cuz I eat healthy and work out. She tried to tell me that I might have "a problem" with overdoing it with the workouts and I should seek help. AS IF she is qualified to make this conclusion! She barely knows me. Off to see the power struggle arse now!! LOL. Good luck with the job search.

Hey Maniacs!!!

Decided to go on bike ride. Did 12 miles. Nice ride and the honeysuckles smell so good along the way. Stopped in the stream to cool off...had fun! Off to eat lunch and then do my weight work. My weight is 124 this morning so I really need to bring it down a few notches. Would really like to be 120 which would make me happy.

Debbie - We are about the same, my max HR is 179. Usually I only get as high as 170 sometimes a little over. I think the highest I have seen before is 180. I think this morning may have been right because I was doing IMAX3 on legs that felt like lead from yesterday. So I felt like I was working my a$$ off.

This morning I did Amy's In the Ring, Ab Ripper X, and finished with the abs and stretch from Hi/Lo Knockout. Total calories burned was 664. My DD and I took her children and my two granddaughters I am staying with th the library and lunch at Subway. We had a nice visit and my DIL dropped by too:D DD's surgury date was change to next week because her doctor had an unexpected death in his family so plans are changed.
I will probably do Kimberly Spreens Combat Surge tomorrow.

Linda, my max hr is around 170 but usually does not get that high. I once had my hr monitor beeping like crazy and it said 220:eek: I asked my doctor about that and she said she doubted that was right and next time take my pulse and check it out. Although I have found that sometimes when I have been using some of my allergy med it affects my hr when I workout. Not quite sure why that is.
