Hardcore Fitness Maniac Hotties for 5/21

Today was cardio and I chose StrikeZone. Had a fairly good workout but could still feel something weird in my right knee. Kind of hard to describe. This workout really doesn't get my HR up there, I think the highest I hit was 142 bpm. But I still worked up a good sweat.

I also did the Ab Work from Kick, Punch & Crunch since I missed doing it on Wednesday.

HR STATS - not including ab work:
50 minutes total
9 minutes below zone
27 minutes in zone
15 minutes above zone
364 calories burned.

Taking my mom to lunch and shopping. She has to get ready for her surgery in June and needs good soft shoes and stuff like that.

Have a great Friday everyone!

Debbie-have fun w/ your Mom :D That's still a nice burn, what do you think of Strike Zone vs. Cardio Kickbox Challenge?

Hermia-good to see you on here. That must be one heck of a week you are having

Yesterday was total body and I did kettlebell work. I did Providence-stopping at the abs and finished w/ workout one from Amy's Kettlebell Dynamics. Time was 55 min and I burned 585 calories. Today will more than likely be a rest day or some stretching. TTYL

Good Morning and Happy Friday to everyone!!

Today was B&G - great workout. I was REALLY pushing hard to get through all of the floor work at the end today. I didn't finish the ab section because I want to try Core Max this afternoon. I'm out at noon, so I'm headed home for the never ending laundry pile and MORE packing for camp. Last night we worked at camp for a while, but I was tired so I crashed early :).

Debbie - I hope you have a great day with your mom! What's up with the knee? Is is painful at all or just "wierd"?

Theresa - Nice workout again!! I REALLY want to get one of the "original" heart rate monitors of yours....:p

I plan on pulling a "Diane Sue" workout tomorrow :D. I have KPC planned and will try to add GS upper body as well. I also have a lot of work at camp and must take the crazy dogs for a long hike. I am going out tomorrow night dancing with friends too..........so that should be quite the calorie burn for one day!!

The sun is shining today and it's BEAUTIFUL out, so I can't wait to get of work and go play!! :)

Morning Maniacs -

I did Tracy's Perfect Design 3 today with ankle weights. This is definitely the most challeging ....had to stop and rest from time to time. I added on a 10 minute pilates stretch. Workout was 70" and I burned 350 calories. Max HR was 120.

Made it through Pyramid Upper Body (repeating down the pyramid after a 4 minute break or so), except for biceps. I ran out of time, but will get them in today. I've gotten stronger since the last time I did this series. It’s been awhile - maybe five months or more. That's one of the reasons I repeated it after doing it last week. Made me HAPPY :D Worked hard yesterday and enjoyed it , mostly. It was a little tough in the beginning - cramps were bothering me  But the sun actually came out yesterday!!! Woo Hoo - That helped. I got some yard work done. Seemed like EVERYONE rushed out to mow their yard. It's been the first dry day in awhile. Probably wanted to get it done while they had the chance. Planning an interval workout today (25/15). I’ll get some bike sprints in there. Kb practice tonight.

Theresa - I saw your post from yesterday and thought about how vigilent you’ve been in looking for a solution to your own stuff. So, I took your suggestion and called the doc. They can’t get me in until next week, but when I told them about “Flo (funny way you put that :D)," they asked me to get some blood work done - said they’d have an order waiting for me at the lab. One thing they wanted to check was if I might be anemic?!! Geez. I s'pose it's possible. Anyway, I went and had blood drawn after dropping off DS (always a "vile" experience :p). Providence looks like such a great workout (from the clips I've seen)! Well done. Enjoy your rest day.

Debbie - It had been awhile since I’d done the Pyramid series, too. No leg soreness this week. Minor DOMS last week. I just don’t get leg soreness very often. Even so, I was a little surprised - felt like my weights were spot on - I pushed really hard and even added in some extra sets of pyramids with other exercises. Upper body soreness is more common, especially for biceps - and they seem to be the most stubborn about strength gains. Go figure. Sorry your knee is acting up. When things don't feel "quite right," it can detract from a workout.

Linda - Quite a day you had yesterday, huh? I hope your shoulder feeling better today and you take it easy … no pool installation or mountain moving or anything :p . Praying you get the results from your MRI soon. Waiting can be hard. Also, Happy Anniversary AND Birthday :D !

Hermia - How did you like the Gym Style premix? I’ve previewed my new Foundations yoga DVD (kind of) while doing other things. It looks good and I'm hoping to try at least part of it this weekend. It seems long to me (almost 90 minutes). Didn't you say your classes typically run about that long? Hope you get some time to yourself this weekend.

Cheryl - Glad you played hookie. You must have needed it. And personally, I’d go with Theresa on her sweat-based calorie estimate (for myself as well). Her science seems air-tight to me ;) .

Lora - Was your workout floorwork-based? Hope you're doing ok and get some time off this weekend (for a change) :D.

Diane Sue - Hope your weather's improving, too. Have a good workout :D

Hi to Roselyn and Char.

Cheryl-good work on B&G, I love/hate that one :D And I miss my "original" HR numbers too :(

Lora-nice workout. does she do a lot of matwork?

Lori-I noticed I was stronger on the PUB series also. I think it has to do w/ STS b/c I noticed it on MM too. And I'm glad you took charge of your health, I have decided that NO ONE is going to advocate for me but ME :D

I thought that I posted earlier. Guess I forgot to submit my workout. We went to our granddaughters middle school graduation and then out to lunch. I had yummy grilled catfish with steamed veggies.
I started with Bosu Xplode Amped 51 minutes and burned 323 calories, then I did Tonique squat track using 5# dumbbells 16 minutes, 113 calories, I followed with the Dome section of Amy's Hi/Lo Dome to get in a little more strength work 25 minutes and 132 calories, I used 8# for the standing woody bag and 10's for the rest of the workout, I finished with Kelly's 30 minutes to fitness Bootcamp bonus stretch 18 minutes 45 calories. Total time spent was 1 hr 50 minutes and total calories burned was 613.
Got to leave in a few minutes so still won't get to personals for awhile.

Finished intervals. Had a very GOOD, very tough workout. Finally. It was just about 50 minutes (not including warm up or cool down) of 25/15 intervals (47 of them). Every 10-12, I put in a couple intervals of ab work or something a little easier (jumping jack into roundhouse kick done at a moderate pace, for example) to give me a little recovery. There were 14 rounds of bike sprints scattered through there, some plie', plyo and air jacks, lateral jumps over the step, burpees, 180 switches, power lunges, dreya rolls with tuck jumps and so on. It was hard but I felt really good. I did totally skip one round after a series of bike sprints because I was just too torched - but I came back from it and ... I had fun. I've been missing that (very key) element in most of my workouts lately. Glad it was back. I will practice kb and hit my biceps later this evening.

Theresa - I agree. Wise words there. I credit STS for much of my strengh gains, too. You are strong in a lot of ways :D

Diane Sue - Sounds like a nice morning. Tough mix for your workout today  !

Hope everyone's enjoying their Friday -

Lori

Quick check in. Completely exhausted. School field trip the aquarium today. LLLLLOOOOONNNNGGGG Day!

Did manage to do 4DS BC UpperBody Circuit. I really enjoyed it. Skipped the abs though. And so far my stomach has behaved today.

Theresa - Just saw your post from last night. The redness went away, but I did do shoulder work this morning. Oops! DH and I were together 5 years before we got married too so it's really been 19 years.

Today was cardio, had a hard time getting going, my daughter graduated from HS last night, and then had a lock-in I worked until midnight. Had fun though, cannot believe high school is done for her. Amazing!! A very fast 4 years.

It is late. I have had a very busy day and tomorrow and Sunday look to be that way too. I just want to get those workouts in. The people at the Bosu website sent me a whole slingshot for my workouts. I was waiting for another belt:D Tomorrow is cardio and core along with Yoga from Jillians yoga workout. I will try to get back here tomorrow.
