HARDCORE FITNESS MANIAC CHECK IN AUG. 21

Good morning.

Bike intervals yesterday. Some tabata rounds today. I have felt fully recovered the past couple days - no twinges or anything - YAY :D :D :D Taking DS to Denver later, we will meet his dad at the train station tomorrow morning and then they will travel to California. Hopefully a good experience for him in a number of ways. He'll be gone on his birthday, but I think that bothers me more than him (he'll be 13 ) - so it's ok. I'll be back early afternoon. Driving always poops me out but I still should be able to get a workout in tomorrow evening - I hope.

Theresa - I think you mentioned something about a violin in your post to Diane Sue yesterday (in reference to your phone -?). Did you get yours yet? If so, are you enjoying it? I also remember your trip to Dallas is coming up. Can't remember exactly when.

Debbie - First day of your vacation, right? Hope your enjoying yourself :D

Diane Sue - Hope you have a great workout (betting you will ;) ).

Hi to everyone else. I'll stop in before we leave this afternoon if there's time.

Lori

ETA - I meant to post this as a weekend check-in (not just for Saturday). Dangit

Lori-safe travels to you and your son. I'm glad you are back on the wagon "twinge"wise :D I had my 1st lesson a few weeks ago, and wanted to start full time after Dallas (which is next week). I have signed up for a class w/ Mindy Mylrea :D A BOSU one at that......she is crazy <gulp>. I think I am really going to like the violin but it will be very different from previous instruments. I am looking at getting a piano too, as I learned (after my parents donated ours) that I really did miss playing. I need things that keep me focused mentally and help keep my brain from atrophying :D
p.s. did things ever fix themselves on FB?

NO workouts here, I have been on the go :D

HOpe everyone is having a fun filled weekend

No workout today. I got to bed late last night after our grandson's game and finishing up around here. So, maybe tomorrow before church or no workout for two days "gasp" . I used to take two days a lot during the summer months. Not a big deal as I think I workout hard enough that is is good for me.

Theresa, I am sure that working out with Mindy will be quite an experience. She has so much energy. I keep eying that Bosu Explode workout of hers:D

Lori, I am sure the drive with your son will be a pleasant one. No workout. Sorry:D

Diane, I don't think it's a big deal to take two days off, either--you work out really hard!

ahh...roommates are discussing a movie. Apparently I have to start getting ready. I think we're seeing Inception.

Just finished my workout. I did the bootcamp/lower body premix from 4DS. I feel pretty worked and like I need a rest...I think it's just that this week I'm getting back into things after two weeks of barely any working out.

Back from Denver. Decided to just use this thread for Sunday, since they're usually pretty quiet. DS and I had a really nice time last night (made me miss Colorado - my hometown up until DS). Driving wipes me out, though. Only 3 1/2 - 4 hour trip but still. Guess I don't make a very good worldly traveler. Thinking about a short nap then hopefully some kind of workout. I have a lot to do around here and that usually gives me a lift. Otherwise, I'm afraid I'll be dragging my butt all afternoon :p .

Theresa - I used to love the piano (and singing). When I was younger, I was sure someday I'd grow up and be a famous lead vocalist for some rock band or something  Used to sing to DS when he was a baby - now it's just in the shower or while I'm cleaning and stuff. Adding music into your life the way you are - such a GREAT thing. I can see why you'd want to wait until after Dallas to focus on the lessons. Such cool things going on for you. Can't wait to hear how the class with Mindy went. I don't have any of her workouts. Watched several clips (on Collage, I think) - they look VERY good. Facebook is still a mess  Was pretty busy last week but with DS gone, I'll have some time and am thinking I may as well try to open a new account and see if that works. Aside from contacting a few old friends and professors (which mostly just made me homesick :( ) I mostly only used it to check in with you guys - miss that very much.

Diane Sue - I don't think an extra rest day for you is EVER a bad idea. Probably did you some good. You work so hard :) - DS and I did have a very nice time. I will miss him. He didn't even mind my reminiscing - took him to the bookstore where I used to work and we had dinner at the Hardrock Cafe. I don't envy the leg of travel he has ahead of him - 33 hours on a train  I like the 'idea' of train travel (kind of old fashioned and romantic), but - I don't know. Sitting that long would be very tough. I'm sure he'll have a great time though.

Hermia - I think I remember that premix. It's a good one and not easy. I'll bet you feel worked out. Getting back into the swing after taking some time off can be an adjustment. Take it easy on yourself. I've been very curious about Inception. Seems like people either love it or - NOT. Hope you have a good time and would like to hear what you thought of it.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Lori
