Another day of not feeling like doing cardio. It seems as the weekend approaches I just have no motivation to workout. But I got on my treadmill anyways and did Cardio Coach #7, challenges #1 and 2.

Ended up having a pretty good workout. Did well with Challenge #2.

Getting really bored with the cardio routine so today I did 20 minutes of 4 DS BC through to drill 9.
 
Morning Maniacs! This morning was supposed to be total body, but I'm sore from KenpoX+ from yesterday! Kickboxing does that to me if I don't do it a lot. So, I got on the treadmill for 30 min. and then did TBS shoulder segment. I might do something later today...we'll see. Tomorrow will be some kind of kick @$$ workout.

Suz- You did right on the sweet potatoes (except for the running out of water part:p). It's hard to keep them from going brown. I keep the skins on until I'm ready to eat them, that protects them somewhat. You can also squeeze lemon on them to help the browning. You'll never have a perfect beautiful potato though, just not the nature of them.:( They'll still taste good so don't worry.

Char- Great going on the house cleaning. I love when I clean deep!

Hermia- I get impatient learning coreography too. I try to avoid it. :D

Sonya- Nice workout! Great job on the clean eating! Myfitnesspal is great isn't it? Makes it so easy to keep track.

Linda- Funny your weights aren't feeling any lighter! See, your muscles don't even know!;)

Debbie- Nice job on CC!

Teddy- Have fun waiting for your car to get fixed. Is that possible?:p

Debbie...you are funny. You say you don't fell like you had a good workout but then your stats are always so impressive! :)

Teddy...nice leg workout. Your bb squats....do you use a lifting belt? My legs are pretty strong but sometimes after doing leg workouts with the bb my lower back hurts.

Good afternoon!

This morning I had a meeting with the athletic trainer and he put heat on my shoulder and then stretched it out (OUCH!!!!!) and then did that electrode stuff (a couple girls from the volleyball team told me it would feel good - it was really weird) then he iced it. It's kinda sore now. He said it moved more today but it hurt like a you-know-what. He said I should not be doing any overhead presses - no shoulder work above the shoulder right now. Ooops - didn't know that. Our volleyball coach came in when I was in there and asked if he would stretch out his shoulder today. Then the coordinator who works in the PE building came in and said she's having double knee replacement surgery in December (YOWZA!) and would he do her PT. I feel good that they are all so confident in him. :D

Today was shoulders and triceps and later I need to do cardio.

Nice workouts everyone. I'm gonna run outta here. I keep getting out of work late on Fridays and I'm supposed to leave early. We had a snowstorm and a bunch of wind so had a big drift in front of our garage. DH is off on Fridays but he got up and got the snowblower out after it. :) I hear it's still windy out. Brrrr....
 
Suz- Nice workout! I wish I could come talk to that athletic trainer and have him tell me why my shoulder muscles in my upper back are so tight and messed up. My shoulder drills are helping though. I'm pretty sure it's work related, but a girls gotta work doesn't she? It's kinda cold here today too...47 degrees.

Sonya- You and your 80 degree weather.:p
 
I'm just getting back I lefted Allstar around 3:30 than went to get an oil change and then over my son's, glad to be home. I was so hungry I stopped at B&M for 4 chicken wings, got home and wolfed them down I didn't have time to make a salad to go with it :confused:

Iluvschool: I do use my belt after I finish the first two rounds of squats. I'm not feeling any pain in legs RIGHT NOW who know maybe tomorrow :eek:

Dallys: Good work. If I go back out going to Walmart for Weighted gloves. They only have 1lbers, is it worth it?

This is just my opinion and you do realize I'm not a kickboxing expert.:p

If you have any shoulder or elbow issues I wouldn't use weighted gloves at all. If you feel the need, one pounders are a good weight. I think going much heavier can cause injury myself. If I use them I use my 1 pounders. I do have 2 pounders and they really jolt the joints if you know what I mean. You should ask over on open discussion and see what other people say.
 
Suz, you can do tricep kickbacks with 20 # dumbbells??? Wow! I cannot imagine using my 20s for kickbacks!

Just on a little break between schools today. Gotta do some grading before I head out to my last two class. It never ends, I tell you.

I decided to do yesterday's workout today and use yesterday as a rest day/clean day (damn...feel like a kid skipping school yesterday from not working out..lol) Had an amazing workout. Took a power nap and got me some power..woohoo...

45 second rest between each set.

CHEST
Bench Press:
85# - 4/4 (up 5#)
65# - 12 (best I have done..once before was done only 9x's)
50# - 20/20 (up 5#)

Decline Dumbbell Press:
30's - 4/4 (up 5#)
25's - 12 (up 5#)
20's - 15/15 (same as before)

Incline Flyes:
20's - 20/20
(started feeling tight between shoulder blades)

TRICEPS
Weighted Bench Dips:
90# - 8x's (like before)
85# - 12 (went up 5#)
70# - 20/17 (went up 10#?)

Lying Tricep Barbell Extension:
45# - 4/4 (went down 5# cuz above work took alot out of me)
40# - 12
30# - 20/20

Overhead Dumbbell Extensions:
35# - 4/4 (like before)
30# - 10


Kickbacks:
12's - 20/20

Did BM2 ab work earlier. Measured my arms and measured just over 12 1/2" when I was done. So happy about that. That is close to where I wanna be anyways.

Tomorrow gonna work legs!
 
I thought I would check in and see what everyone was doing. I am feeling much better today. No more chills and fever. Not sure when will be a good time to go back to working out. My dd bought over two more bowls of panera bread soup and this time a couple of sweet rolls and orange juice. Too much of this eating and sleeping and I will have my holiday weight early LOL Really I have no clue how soon after having pneumonia that I can workout again. I go back to the doctor next Thurday.

Charlotte, it looks like you came back from your rest/cleaning day with a good workout:)

Teddy, I use 1#weighted gloves. I agree with Dallys about using to heavy of gloves for Kickboxing.

Suz, you are lucky to have the athletic trainer to help you out. I have been reading different article on shoulder injuries lately. Most say to strengthen the rotators. They had that article in the latest Oxygen magazine with a tubing exercise for the rotator. Be careful with that shoulder.

Dallys, I think if you keep up those exercises on Total Body Solutions you will see improvement. I am liking them. My range of motion is so much better since I have been using these and adding some of the yoga moves for shoulders. It was painful there for awhile just to lift my arm above my head. I was thinking if I a feeling better tomorrow I will go through those moves again.

Debbie, nice workout. I bet you will find the Gym Styles a nice change.
 
Tonight's workout was Tracey Staehle's Glute Camp followed by the first ab section from Amy's ASC III.

so sleepy...four more papers to grade!
