Hardcore Extreme

I did a search for some info on this workout or should I say workouts. My results weren't so good. Maybe I'm doing the search wrong? Anyway, how would you rate this one? Intensity? Is it fun like BC and Imax2? Any input would be great.

Thanks, Dallas

I just bought it and have only previewed it. So I won't be able to give you any input about intensity or true fun factor or anything. I liked the music of course. It was all music from the other DVD's, the editing didn't look that great, I know in one of them you went from Imax 3 to High Step Challenge and those both use different steps, so I'm thinking you'll have to pause in between there, and also all the workouts are long. With all that said, I'm still looking forward to tackling it. Just one more video, I'll have to work my way through!
It's a continuing process.....

Hi there! I have Hardcore Extreme and it is quite a challenge. There are three separate workouts (Imax 3, Low Max, Kick Max, etc.) that combine all different workouts together so sometimes the transitions are tough because the scenes switch quickly. I also bought Imax 3 but realized very quickly that Hardcore Extreme uses pretty much every step section and blast in Imax 3 so I really don't need it.

So anyway, I find the workout very tough and also I found that I can't do it more than 3 times a week or my knees actually bother me. There is alot of jumping and you really get your heart rate up. It is also very fun.

Hope this helps you out!

Jessica

Thanks Christi23 and Jessica,

I recently tried out LM and love it, just because it's not high impact and different than any work out I have ever done. I still like KM, but not crazy about the first 30 minutes. I haven't done Imax 3 yet. I recently mastered Imax 2 and love that one. So, Jessica you really think you don't need Imax 3? Wouldn't you just want to do that work out by itself?

I think I'll wait to get HE until I hear more positive things about it. There are just so many others I just have to have!!!:)

Thanks, Dallas

Hi Dallas! To answer your question about keeping Imax3 by itself, I really don't think it's necessary because like I said Hardcore Extreme uses pretty much every scene in Imax 3 but you know I'd like to try Stretch Max. Have you tried that yet? I have alot of the Body Blast Series and Hardcore but I think I'd like to try to work on my flexibility more. I've heard Stretch Max is pretty effective.

Hi Dallas. I LOVE this DVD. I have been using the 2nd workout (intervals) at least 1-2 times a week lately with good results. It is so fun and enables me to do ImAX3 w/some intervals from lowmax so it makes it bearable on the knees. I did it again today and was sweating buckets! Definitely worth every penny I paid for the one workout by itself!

Jessica, I have only done 2 of the 3 segments of SM once and that was off of Fit TV. It was a pretty good stretch, however. I combined my stretch day with a Core Max segment, too. I'll probably try out the 3rd SM and CM today since I'm suffering from some sort of sinus/upper respiratory illness. What a bummer to not be able to really work out! :-( I was kidding myself on the weekend that I wasn't getting sick and did BC. What a mistake. I was thoroughly wiped out and quite dizzy. I never felt like that before after that one....just good and worked out!:)

Fitnut, I'll have to add HE to my growing list! My husband already thinks I'm nuts for all the videos I have (IMO is not much:) )! Do you have Imax 3 by itself? Do you agree with Jessica that it's not necessary to have? I heard it's even better than Imax 2 and just love that one!

I've been checking out the DVD packs because I want to order so many! However, I want to create my own pack. Wouldn't that be great if we could do that? Just dreaming. Hey, maybe I should put that in as a request?!

Thanks, Dallas

Fitnut,

Do you think doing Hardcore Extreme 3 times a week is too much? I do all three segments 3x/wk. My knees do ache a little after though but I sweat like I've never sweat in my life.

Just wondering what your thoughts are on that.

Jess

Having Hardcore Extreme does not equate to having Imax 3. Not all sections of Imax 3 are used in HE, and those that are used are interpersed around sections from two other Hardcore w/o's, so if you tried to program Imax 3 from HE only, you'd have a tough, rough time of it and it would not be complete, no way it would be the same.

You need the whole Imax 3 because FLOW and CONTINUITY cannot be underestimated.

I really enjoy the two cardio workouts on HC Extreme. I haven't done and will probably not do the one that uses HSC. I think HC Extreme is worth the two cardio workouts I enjoy so much. Both cardio's use the KM BC Challenge Blasts and I LOVE those so much. Awesome cardio workouts on the HC Extreme DVD in my opinion. Oh and I second Clare's opinion that having HC Extreme is not the same as having Imax 3 for the exact reasons she mentioned!

Thanks for all of the feedback on HCX, guys. I have typically shyed away from the compilation DVDs b/c I have most of the individual workouts. However, my all time new favorite workout is High Step Challenge. I am obsessed with it and was searching for another DVD with equal (or greater) intensity. Based upon the feedback in the forums, I've purchased HSTA and HCX. This now completes the Hard Core series for me. Even though I can't make it through HSC in its entirety, all of these workouts give me something to build up to. I want to improve my endurance anyway.

Thanks for being such great fellow Cathe-ites. Her DVDs are really the only ones I've found that push me as hard as I push myself (and my students) during my own workouts. They've been great for cross training too.
