Hardcore Checkin Thursday - March 17

Mornin' ladies - I'm on the fatloss rotation and I did Hardcore Extreme this morning (modified - per my doctor). I had an okay workout but I'll be happier when I can push it to the max. Tomorrow is KickMax for me.

I'm eating yogurt right now and will have a bowl of shredded wheats, as well. Lunch will be salad with honey wheat pretzels, a pear and an apple for snacks. Dinner will be 3 slices low fat swiss cheese, 1 half of a wheat roll and 1 serving of baked tortilla chips with salsa. I'll have a DQ sugar free fudge bar for dessert.

Glad to see you got the go ahead to do a modified HCX workout. Every day is a little better.

I chose HCX #3 for yesterday. I enjoyed the way it moved along between IMX3 and KM blasts. Plus those leg drills are just great (good pain) after getting my legs really warmed up. I didn't get to stretch because I was interrupted and had to go on wtih my day. I will be stretching x-tra today.

Tonight is a short interval run and GS Legs.

Hi Everyone,

For someone who wanted to be part of a rotation, I haven't been much of an encouragement to you. :-(

I got hit hard with the flu last Friday. I felt my head was going to crack open. I took 5 of my Migraine pills ( @$23 a pill) I was already having a hard time getting my endurance back to where it was last year. I feel this series is my ticket to get there.

Since I cannot post everyday, I will list my little, meager workouts since last Thursday.

3/10 LowMax
3/11 & 3/12 off
3/13 Stretch Max with band
3/14 Gym Style Legs ....even after doing this workout 4 times now, it still makes my upper calves SORE! }(
3/15 (I cheated and did PUB but I threw in Stretch Max with ball)
3/16 Muscle Max
Today I will do a Premix of HighStep Challenge

I read in Oxygen Spring addition about working the abs. They are saying (what Diane Sue has been doing all along) to work the abs like you would any other muscle group. In other words, instead of an add on at the end of a workout, really concentrate on them as you would your biceps. It is even suggested to work the abs first for variety.
I know in the past when I spent the time in working my abs for say 20 min or more at a time instead of only 5 or 10, it made a huge difference. Also, cardio and the proper food fuel is a must to burn the layer of fat that is hiding that gorgeous 6 pack.
If you haven't read that issue, I highly recommend it as it is a keeper.

Hopefully before this rotation is over, I will be able to keep up with you all. :9
 
Hi Everyone :)

Lorajc way to go with HCX I did that one yesterday and I just got to 45 minutes. I felt light headed next time I will eat half a protein bar. Ya know I am TRYING to be a AM. exericiser }( I did not wake up to the alarm today.

I plan on riding my airdyne (in place of running) Then SM and CM.

Wanda thanks for the tip on abs.

This is my 3rd week in fat loss rotation and can I say BOY do I feel WORKED out!! I have not done this much cardio IN YEARS!! I have always been more of a weights girl.

Welcome Wanda. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. I think a few of us (me included) have cheated a little on the rotation and subbed for a different w/o.

I started with the fat loss rotation and just felt I was loosing progress ~if that makes sense. I'm going to now focus back on Strength Training.

This morning I did CTX Step Circuits with Chest, followed by HC Chest and Triceps. I feel really good right now.
I'm also going to focus more on abs and work them like Wanda is.

Did a 20min interval run last night and today's my day off (yippee). Finding this week hard going for some reason.

lorajc: glad you're back on track but take it steady!

I couldn't get myself up this morning....
I am feeling tired and overworked so I decided to take it easy today, I just finished Stretch Max #3 and I'm going to pop in CoreMax after my kiddos stop hogging the dvd player. I may try to squeeze something else in during nap time, if I find my second wind.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! don't drink too many Guinness's!

It's encouraging to see our check-in numbers are staying fairly steady. Great work, everyone!

Today is supposed to be a 30-min run, but I'm going to do the hi/lo from MIC, then Core Max 2 & 3, then Stretch Max 2 & 3. If it's not too cold this evening, I may walk/slow jog a few miles of the W & OD trail.

Have a safe holiday and Slainte to my fellow Irish folk out there! :D

Hi everyone,
I did Kick Max w/u and cardio and left out the leg conditioning since I did GS Legs yesterday, then did tough core & complete core, finished with Gym Style Chest & triceps with the stretch.
Lora that is great you got to do HC Extreme workout. Wanda, I am sorry you have been feeling poorly. I hate those headaches like that. It looks like you still did good. I hope everyone reaches some of their goals here.

On my rest week (I work out for ten weeks and then the 11th I rest--my poor knees must have it)

I have an abdominal cat scan this afternoon. I hope they can figure out what is wrong. It's good this is all happening during my rest week, but I don't want to miss more than that.

I've lost 43 lbs and gained muscle and I'm feeling pretty good about my progress. I don't want to lose everything. Stressing big time, even tho I know the Lord is in control.
