I have gotten my workouts in just had a hard couple of days my parents lost their 3 month old puppy, it was devastating, the vet believes he ate a poison plant. There are some plants that are poisonous I did not even know, like an iris, and my parents had those or maybe a toad, he exhibited signs of poison it happened so fast, and they are just so sad. We all are, he was a boston terrier and the funniest little guy

Roselyn. that is so sad. Boston Terriers are such cute dogs. I did not know toads were poisonous. My dog eats things in the yard sometimes. I have not seen my plants eaten since she has outgrown puppyhood. She was very sick in July and we got her better only to have it happen again recently. I read up on every plant I had in the yard. I left the ones that were not poisonous like my roses and cannas. I pulled out the morning glories in back because they are like lsd to a dog. I still have my hydrangea and I think it is poisonous but I have no evidence she is bothering it. It is in a pot though so I could move it. It is big. She eats grass and I have tried to avoid spraying the lawn as much as possible. I recently had to pull toadstools because I found a couple uprooted and looking like they were nibbled on. She had a toad in her mouth the other day and I made her drop it. My heart goes out to your parents. Will they get another puppy?

Today's workout was a mixture. I wanted a bit of kettle bell cardio because that is in my original rotation that I had made. I did Kettle Body By Brook Cardio Kettle bell 24 minutes, 167 calories. I used a 15 # kettle bell for most of it but I had a 10 handy for the swings she does up to the side when in a lunge position and a couple of overhead fast moves. She uses a 10# GoFit kettle bell. I did not go on to the cool down and stretch with this workout. I then id Amy Bento's Advanced Step Challenge 3, combos 1,2,1&2,3, and power up, then the cool down and the stretch. This was 64 minutes and I burned 481 calories. I then did Abs #1 off of the same workout with the kettle bell, 15 minutes, 53 calories. I forgot how much I liked the abs on this workouts. Abs #2 is done with tubing. I used a 15 for most of it and the crunch to overhead press on the step a 20#. I finished off with Suzanne Barre Strengthen and Stretch relaxation stretch 15 minutes. There was plenty of stretching on Amy's workout though. I believe it is around 14 minutes of stretching and there is also a stretch on the abs workout. She usually does pretty good stretches. This one used the step standing and a towel on the floor. Total calories today was 726.

Right now they are so devastated, especially my dad, that puppy got them threw some hard times these past couple of months, so I don't know if they would or not. I wish they would

Roselyn, I know you can really become attached to them in a very short amount of time. We had a dane named Jasmine that had to be put down at 6 months. We cried. It was heartbreaking. She had something wrong and the vet had to confer with others. She finally got where she could not get up and walk. They said we would lose her before she was a year old. It was soon after that we got another pup.
When my Dad lost his cat that he loved so much, my niece found a malnourished kitten that needed nursing back to health. She gave it to my Dad and my Dad loved it. I think it helped a lot.

Saturdays workout was Cardio, 4 mile walk on the treadmill, high incline. 75 minutes and I burned 610 calories. I am not working out today, I'm too busy and I want to catch up on some things around the house.

Roselyn, I am so sorry to hear about your parents puppy! That is so sad. I hope they get another one to fill the void. It is difficult but I does help and they will love the next one just as much as the one they lost. I hope you are doing well too!

Rest day today. I may do a bit of stretching as my neck and is sore and stiff. I think I slept on one side most of the night.

Jolie, sometimes getting things done around the house is more beneficial than a workout. I am always a little afraid of too much of an incline because since the knee surgery it makes it hurt on the back and inside of my knee. I need to try out my tread climber again since I loosened the cylinder tension a little bit.

So, does you ladies Fit Bits do okay on the treadmills?? I read some people complaining on the Fit Bit site and they just suggested that they manually enter their calories. That does not make much sense to me.

Today I walked on my treadmill for 2.35 miles. I decided to take this week off with weights due to my tooth. It is so uncomfortable and I can't even bend down. When I do I feel the blood rushing to the tooth and it hurts quite a bit. So walking it is. I burned 329 calories so not bad.

Roselyn - I'm so sorry to hear about your mom and dad's puppy. How sad. :( OMG, I'm sure this has been very traumatic for them. So sorry!!!

Diane Sue - My Fitbit never tracks my treadmill workout right, that's why I always add at least 110 calories more in Myfitnesspal for whatever workouts I do, weight training or treadmill. They just do not track correctly. I would still rather use a Fitbit versus a Polar, though, I hate those chest straps you have to wear.

Jolie - I also did a lot around my house yesterday. I love when my house is clean. So when I get that cleaning bug going, I just go with it or it won't get done.

Debbie my Fit Bit is low with most workouts but most of the time by the end of the day my calories are up there unless I didn't do much all d a y. Say a rest day. Also I can be anywhere from 54 resting heartrate to 170 when doing cardio. I know I am working hard but I have rarely seen 170 with the chest strap and I am usually very winded. Not so with Fit Bit. But even with that I get a low calorie burn. Then active stuff like strength I am cry low. And yoga will give me something like 25 calories for 30 minutes which is not right either. I can do that sitting on my backside. I can generally come up with a good figure though since I have worked out for so many years, I like the tool anyway.

Today I did STS #15 Back and ended with leg extensions since she puts deadlifts at the end of the back workout. I have had low and upper back spasms for a couple of weeks now and it is killing me. I have be taking minerals, electrolytes and runners electrolytes but it isn't helping. I did stretch today and it felt great. My lower back probably is out but I don't want to go back to the chiropractor just yet.

I need to find some stretches for my lower back on youtube. I am getting extremely stiff in the hamstrings, low back and hip flexors.

Debbie, I am sorry to hear about your tooth. I hate dental work! I think it is a good idea you are not lifting this week, you have been killing it lately and its good for the body to take a break so it can grow and repair.

Diane Sue, nice workout. Do you have any suggestions about spasms and how to get them to release?

Roselyn, I wish you live close to me, Id take you out for a spa day. It seems like you can never catch a break! You need a day of relaxation. Hang in there!

Have a great day!

Today was workout B which I altered a bit. I did not want to do pull ups because last week it made my shoulder hurt. I subbed wide double arm rows. Workout was Ice Total Body Metabolic premix blizzard blast, 23 minutes,163 calories. This plan is supposed to have metabolic workouts added in and some foam rolling. I thought maybe the blizzard blasts would be good for this. Amy Bento Slo Mo Challenge 2 with the addition of the rows at the beginning and the skull crushers from biceps and triceps. Weight work was 81 minutes, 392 calories. I finished off with Suzanne Bowen Barre Amped Power Stretch. Total calories today was 606.
Workout B

Last week I tried wrapping around my fet and grasping closer with tubing. I flipped off and smacked me in the lip. So, I decided not to d o it again.
single leg rock up squats with a stability ball and 15# dumbbell 3 sets 8 reps some with the pause hold
standing reverse fly with external rotation 8's 8 reps 3 sets
chest around the world 8# pair start on hip face down rotate out to sides as in a fly and bring up overhead as in a pull over and back to start, 3 sets
standing concentration curl 40 # barbell 3 sets 8 reps I would call this a contraction concentration curl

Core -standing circle 8# , standing clamshell 8#, standing relay 8's, seated sit and levitation tucks, run around step and down to forearms and back up right and left, barbell rollout 40# 2 sets, plank jump in
stretch

Jolie, I have those come and go. Today my low right side of my back started spasms when I was doing some core with knee in jump out jacks jump back into the plank. I kept trying to stretch it out an managed to complete it. For me it is getting it stretched and loosened back up carefully and once I get moving again it usually will let up. Today it improved after the Barre Amp stretch.
