Voting Day!!!

Today was chest workout and Then this afternoon I did a 15 Max workout.

Jolie , I know what you are going through with the driving, I still worry and mine are 25 and 21!!
 
I have to say, today is a GREAT day!!!

So yesterday I did workout but only had a short one because of voting. So I just walked on my treadmill for about 1.5 miles.

Today I did Gym Style Back and Biceps (will do Shoulders on Friday). Went fairly light but I sure did feel it. Need to go light more often.

BACK
Barbell Rows
: 30# - 2 sets/8 reps; 1 set/12 reps
One Arm Row: 20# - 2 sets/12 reps
Pullovers: 25# - 2 sets/8 reps
Obviously I skipped some of exercises. Upper back still bugging me.

BICEPS
Barbell Curls: 30#/25# - 2 sets/10 reps
Dumbbell Partial Reps: 8's - tons of reps
Concentration Curls: 10#
Concentration Curls: 12# - 8 reps
Curl Up Reverse Down: 10's – 10 reps
Hammer Curls: 10's

Walked on my treadmill for 1 mile. Biceps are sore already!! :)

God Bless America!!!!!! Today is a great day, you are right Debbie. I am taking another rest day because I was up so late watching the election I am dragging today. I will start working out tomorrow. I needed a rest anyway, I have been wiped out and I get up so early since the time change.

My son does not have a broken ankle or foot, he has a high ankle and foot sprain. With that said, he is playing in Friday nights game. They have to tape it and he is going for it in the playoffs!

First day of driving is behind us and he did great. He is a very capable young man so I need to have confidence in him that he makes the right decisions while driving. I guess I will always be nervous.

I am tired today. We stayed up till after midnight watching election coverage an got up at 5:30 this morning. It took awhile to get in the workout. I did Kelly's Strength and Stamina bonus step workout, 23 minutes, 180 calories. I then did Kelly's Cardio Blast Athletic Step 35 minutes, 255 calories. Total time was 57 minutes and calories burned 428. My neck and shoulder pain is worse. I called the doctors office and asked how the bruising and pain should last from that biopsy experience. I did read about others that had biopsy's in the neck area that had problems afterward that lasted for weeks. And the thing is they did not have as many lymph node biopsied or the double numbing experience. When she did the first one it shot a current all the way to my shoulder and later before numbing again she tried to biopsy one and I felt it in the back of my neck. I think that is why those two areas are reacting so badly. They just told me to put heat on it and give it time. I took more Advil yesterday than I care to take. I have been icing and using heat from the start. It really set it off when I lugged one of those 35 packs of water from Walmart into the car car, and refrigerator. I felt it in my neck when I picked it up and put it in the cart. So, I am thinking that is why it is worse. It is frustrating not to be able to pick things up right now that normally would be easy for me. Once I did some heat and my workout it feels somewhat better this morning. I also use turmeric in my greens drink with the collagen supplement mixture. I am having some turmeric milk (coconut milk) for lunch. Hopefully I can get away from so much Advil.

Jolie, yes, God Bless America:) !! I think it is just natural to always worry. It does get easier though. I even send out prayers for my adult children at times when I know weather is bad or just feel uneasy. We can't be there to guard all our loved ones all of the time so praying for them is good too:) I am glad to hear your son did not break anything. I would probably worry about him playing, but that is what they do all of the time. I hope he does well in the game.

Roselyn, good job at getting the workouts in. I was eyeing my Christmas stuff on the shelves in the garage. I wish I could find my lighted cross. I could not find it last year and it has to be -packed somewhere. I did find the rope lights that we could not find last year. My husband was going to pay my grandson last year to hang them but they were not to be found. I should start doing some decorating. Our home is the designated Thanksgiving location again this year. My daughter that lives outside the city is having Christmas at her house.

Debbie, yes today is a great day !!! I imagine that there is a lot of tired people out there today. My workout was shorter yesterday too because I went out to vote in the morning. Nice job on the Gym Style Workouts.
 
Today I did Cardio Coach #6 w/Candace but skipped challenge 3. Had a pretty good workout for not feeling like doing it at all. I was so tired this morning. By the time I got to 2.4 miles I was doing great.

Workout was 47 minutes, burned 306 calories (TM said 421), ran 3.07 miles (not my best with this one) and went 6285 steps.

Nice job with your workouts!! It's getting cold here now, it was only 33 when I got up. I guess fall/winter is finally here. :(

Jolie - I'm glad your son doesn't have a broken or fractured ankle. I hope it heals quickly and I hope he's ok when he plays on Friday. First time drivers are scary! LOL!!

Diane Sue - I'm glad your tests came back negative but what you are going through sounds painful. I sure hope that goes away, I wonder why it is lasting this long?
 
Today I put together premixes rom Kelly Coffey's workouts. I did Body Shop Lower premix, 19 minutes, 87 calories using 15 and 20 # dumbbells till the floorwork where I used an 8# behind my knee and 15's for the hip lifts. I then did Kelly's Body Circuits premix hi/lo lower, 31 minutes, 205 calories using 15 and 20# for the weight work. I finished with Kelly's Your Best Body Core/Yoga premix that includes the warm up, 22 minutes, 100 calories. Total workout was 72 minutes, 392 calories.

Debbie, It was in the 40's here this morning. We have been having such warm weather though. Up into the 80's on some days. I think fall is finally here. I hope this problem I am having gets figured out and clears up soon. I am getting weary of it.
 
Today I did Gym Style Shoulders. Went fairly light again due to my upper back being sore. Still got a great burn going.

Lateral Raise w/Band: Only did a little of this, these bother my neck and upper back
Front Raise w/Band: Same thing, only did a little of this
Dumbbell Rear Flies: 10's - 2 sets/12 reps

I also did the ab work from STS, I did the one with the ankle weights.

Also walked on my treadmill for 1.25 miles.

I am not sure if I am working out today or not. Big football game day today and I have so much to do. I have enjoyed my rest week, I can now tell I really needed it. I am still so tired, the time change always does a number on me. Once I get used to it I feel much better. I feel like I have jetlag. I have been walking my dog everyday so I am getting the blood moving. I think my joints needed a rest, I have little pain and I feel more flexible.

I ended up getting a workout in and it was great! I did Pyramid Upper Body Shoulders, Triceps and Biceps. I ended with Kelly Coffee Meyers Shape Up Shoulder Presses and I did a 100 Rep Challenge Bicep Curls.

Shoulders: 5# x 12, 8# x 10, 10# x 8, 8# x 10, 5# x 12

2 Arm Kickbacks

Shape Up Shoulder Presses, 10# DB 8 rounds, 12 reps per round with a 10 second rest between sets

100 Rep Challenge, Bicep Curls 8# DB x 40, x 40, x 20 reps (could have gone heavier)

My shoulders, biceps and triceps are pumped!!!

3 days in a row where the weather temp. is over 95 degrees!!!!!!! I'm done with hot weather.
 
Today I did Amy Bento Step Challenge 2, combos 1,2,1&2 combined and 3, 44 minutes, 340 calories. I then did Ice Low Impact Sweat blizzard blast, 11 minutes, 85 calories. I finished off with Les Mills Pump Flow, 21 minutes, 46 calories. I always like this yoga because there is no lying on the floor on my back and no lengthy repetitive segments. My workout was 77 minutes, and 471 calories.

Debbie, I always liked that shoulder workout because it was not really long. It is odd because even though II have not been doing shoulders and back work lately I am really sore. Even to the touch. Spasms in my lats. I think it is from the needles they used. I am positive they must have hit a nerve or something. The biopsy was not in my shoulder and lats. It was in my clavicle and neck.

Jolie, sometimes we do not realize how much we need a rest till we take one. For me it is usually not real deliberate though. More a forced rest or a vacation.
 
Today I started with one of the Power Jump youtube workouts on the rebounder. I chose a short one that was 11 minutes. Oh, my gosh, I should have warmed up first !! heart rate was 141 average and max 172 :O I waned a good warm up before lower body and I guess that one did it. I then did Kelly Coffey Split sessions workout2 lower body with the bonus 45 minutes, 199 calories. I finished of with Cathe leaner legs barre using a weight with it and started the abs but once the basic crunches were over I went on to the stretch. I did not want to raise a dumbbell overhead and by this point I was just done anyway. This was 20 minutes, 65 calories. Total time 76 minutes, calories burned 365.
 
Sundays workout was Chest. I did STS #13 and added a 50 rep challenge for chest press at the end. Boy do these challenges burn the muscle and raise your calorie burn. Then I ended with a short ab workout. I am still so tired, I don't know why. Football season is officially over and I am so thankful. What a long haul it has been. That is probably why I am so tired lately.

Diane Sue- Great workout on the rebounder. It amazes me how much you can do in one workout! I have to say, after not lifting too much in the past week my right shoulder is feeling much better. Rest does do a body good even if you think you don't need one.

Roselyn, Great workout on getting both cardio and weights in! I am to tired if I do that now days. It is better if I split up my weights and cardio.

I forgot to post my calorie burn. Today was 239 and Fridays was 398. Not bad for just lifting weights. I get a good calorie burn when I lift compared to cardio, not sure why.
 
Today was a rest day and time with the family. I did a Cathe Stretch Max segment last night. That is it. I laid on the shoulder too much last night. More discomfort and pain today. I asked my daughter if the nerve they hit will mend. She said it would over time. At least it is not numb now. Just burning and throbbing. Sometimes it just sends a searing pain shooting through and then stop. I am having a hard time working around it. So many lower body workouts have you incorporating upper into them.
I was adjusting the tread climber treadles today and tightening them. I got on it for a bit and noticed it was picking up my heart rate from my Fit Bit :) This makes me want to use it again. I am not sure how tomorrow will go on the workout. Maybe an early one? We have a plumber coming to fix an outside faucet that wont turn completely off. We have it temporarily capped but need it fixed before a freeze. I wish I knew what time he will be here but he is out of time for the weekend. He is supposed to get back with my husband on the time. He works so I will be handling it.

Jolie, sometimes I think just stressors and being busy non stop can lead to fatigue. Generally the fatigue shows up later and we really do not realize where it came from. I am the opposite. I get much lower calorie burns on my Fit Bit when I do weight work. If I go by heart rate with my calories burned app the burn is higher. But not the heart rate. I have noticed that the Fit Bit gives me much higher max heart rates than I have ever got on my Polar watches when doing cardio. But my resting heartrate is really low, in the 55 bpm.
 
This week I want to do Pure Strength workouts. Today I did Chest & Tri's. I forgot how much I like this workout, it's almost better than Gym Style. I really felt it.

Push-Ups: 2 sets/12 reps
Bench Press (warmup): 45# - 16 reps
Bench Press: 65# - 2 sets/10 reps
Incline Bench Press: 55# - 2 sets/10 reps
Inclined Dumbbell Press: 20's - 1 set/10 reps
Incline Dumbbell Flies: 20's - 2 sets/10 reps
Incline Superset (Flies to Press): 20's - 1 set/7 reps (was 9 reps but I couldn't go anymore than 7.

Close Grip Dumbbell Press: 12's - Drop sets - 12/10/8 reps
Lying Tricep Extension: 12's - 2 sets/10 reps
Cross Body Extension: 10# - 2 sets/10 reps
Lying Tricep Extension: 12's - 12 reps
Weighted Dips: 20# – 20/24 reps

Then I did a mile on my treadmill.

I got my workouts in all weekend and today was shoulders, may be doubling up this week because we will be leaving thursday to go to Branson, MO to see all the Christmas lights and events then we will be picking up my son in Springfield for Thanksgiving break,

Roselyn, I have heard the Christmas displays in Branson are beautiful. My daughter's family went to see them one year and had a wonderful time.
 
I am waiting for the plumber to return with another faucet for the kitchen. It is always something. He could not fix the one we have because it was locked up. We were having to turn the whole unit to move it. We had to replace another outside faucet as well. I did get in a short workout this morning. I did Ice Boot camp Circuit no upper body premix, 35 minutes, 221 calories.
