Hardcore check in for November 2016

WD

Cathlete
I thought that I would start the November thread. Today will be cardio and maybe some light weight work. I still have fading bruising from the biopsy that runs from my neck down to my chest. I am kind of enjoying the stretching and lighter work.

Debbie, we had no trick or treaters at all today. My family pretty much just goes to their church event on Wednesday and then maybe a few housed of local friends. They are so cute all dressed up. I have all of these m&ms that I will turn into cookies and freeze for when family comes. I think this is the first time you have mentioned children and grandchildren :) I am sure it was an evening to cherish.

This morning I did Rock'm Sock'm main and blizzard blast, 62 minutes,480 calories. I followed this with Kelly Coffey Athletic Conditioning Volume 2 workout 2 core/flexibility, 27 minutes, 70 calories. Total time was 88 minutes and calories burned 550. I need to go out and pick up journal and some protein powder so that I can make my husband some lemon protein bars. I also need to vacuum. I have not done that part of house cleaning for awhile because I did not want to drag the heavy Kirby up and down the stairs. I am working on pulling things off of my shelving in my workout room so we can move things around. It is a good opportunity to dust the shelves and books and contents well and organize a bit. I kind of want to do some light upper body work this week will have to see how it goes.

November already! Today I did Chest. Four sets of each exercise with a one minute rest between sets.

DB Chest Press
30# x 8, x 8, x 8, x 8

Chest Flies
25# x 8, x 8, x 8, x 8

DB Incline Chest Press
30# x 8, x 8, x 8, x 8

Incline Chest Flies
25# x 8, x 8, x 8, x 8

That's it, I just don't have a lot of time today and I'm tired.

Have a nice day!

Debbie, I went back on the other thread and read your post. I didn't know you had kids and grandkids?! Wow, both you and Diane Sue are kick ass glammies!

Today was Shoulders and Biceps. Had a good workout. This one was only a half hour long. Supersets again.

SS #1
Overhead Barbell Press:
35# - 10 reps; 40# - 10/8 reps
Bicep Curls: 45# 8/7/7 reps

SS #2
Upright Row:
35# - 10/8/8 reps
Hammer Curls w/Twist: 15's - 12/12/12

SS #3

10's - 12/12/12
Reverse Curls: 25# - 10/10/10

Then I walked on the treadmill for 1 mile. Need to get abs done this week yet.

Diane Sue & Jolie - I have two step kids, none of my own. But I refer to them as my own. And my step daughter has four kids and my step son has one. So it's a pretty big family when we all get together. Nice workouts to you both!!!

Today it is so beautiful I decided to go for a walk outside. Walk was 1 hour and 45 minutes. I traveled 6.2 miles and burned 767 Calories! There was a head wind half the way so it was a tough walk. Max heart rate was 167.

Debbie, Nice workout! I bet Christmas is fun with all of those grandkids around. Kid always make the holiday's more fun!

Diane Sue and Roselyn, I hope you have kick butt workouts today!

Monday my son gets his drivers license!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had my new car for 1 year and 2 months and I have 30K miles on it just driving to school and running errands. I cant wait to not have to make that drive. :)

Have a great day.

Today I did Low Impact Circuit mix of cardio lower body and added the abs, 65 minutes, 430 calories. I followed it with just the firewalker band portion of Turbo Barre and the stretch, 15 minutes, 38 calories. Total time 79 minutes, 468 calories.

Deb, that is nice that you the family time :) Nice workout today.

Jolie, you sure get your heart rate up walking. Drivers license gives some relief from having to be the driver but it also brings new worries. I have a whole crew of grandchildren that are driving right now. I send out prayer for them all of the time. Winter will come soon enough and that is always a worry. I bet your son is excited. My two grandchildren that just got theirs the end of May were in some sort of competition seeing who could get in and get theirs first. Their birthdays are 3 days apart. That is a lot of miles for that length of time. My little Spark has 8,000 on it and we have had it almost 2 years. You can tell I do not go far in it.

So today was chest and triceps, then I did back and bis this afternoon,

I cannot believe November is here

Diane Sue so glad the lymph nodes were clear

Great workouts girls!!

Today I did Triceps. I won't be able to workout tomorrow so I figured I'd get triceps in. I should have worked legs too but decided not to. My knees need a rest.

Lying Barbel Extension: 30# - 3 sets/10 reps
One Arm Kickbacks: 10# - 3 sets/10 reps
One Arm Overhead Dumbbell Extensions: 8# - 3 sets/10 reps

Probably could have gone heavier but just didn't want to. Walked on my treadmill for 1.25 miles.

Diane Sue - Did all your tests come back then? Are you waiting for anything else.

Jolie - Nice job with your walk, 6 miles, holy moly!!! That is awesome!!

Roselyn - Nice job with your workouts!!

Yesterday my total steps were 21,103! My feet hurt today. Today's workout was Shoulders, Biceps, Triceps and legs at the end. I did tri-sets with a 30 second rest between sets and the legs I rested 1 minute between sets. I felt really strong today and probably could have gone heavier with a few exercises.

Diane Sue, I am so glad to hear your lymph node test came out good! That must be a relief.

Debbie, great job on your workout. I have decided that I am just not working out hard enough that is why I am not loosing weight. So, I am ramping it up. I am sleeping better and starting to see results. I looked back at my workouts from a couple of years ago and I was working out harder than I have been.

Roselyn, great workout. Getting four body parts in in one day is awesome!

I have a football game to go to today, tomorrow night and Saturday and the season it close to coming to an end. My Freshman is done this week but my Varsity player is going to the playoffs. I am exhausted and so are the boys.

Have a nice day.

Today I did URX-MT Keli Roberts Poly Performance Metabolic Plyometric Circuits, 50 minutes, 327 calories. I always enjoy these Urban Rebounder workouts. I used mostly the 2# sand weights. I picked up the 3# for a couple of lower body focused segments. One of the 3# has lost a lot of sand. I think next time I want 3# I will just used dumbbells The dvd kept freezing. I took it out at 42 minutes and cleaned it. After that it kept freezing and finally stuck to where I could not move forward right at the last of the short ab segment. I went ahead and did some of it and some of the stretch then bounced to the total workout time. I guess I need to take it to the video store and see if they can polish out the scratches because it is not dirty. I followed this with Cathe's High Reps biceps, triceps, abs, and stretch, 22 minutes, 90 calories. I kept this pretty light today. The most I used was 15's for the hammer curls. Total time was 72 minutes and calories burned 417.

Deb, I think that sometimes it is not necessary to go all out heavy on the weights to have nice definition. I am not sure that I will get in a workout tomorrow morning. I have grandparents day. I am not sure what if anything that they want to do next. . I just have the relief that there was no cancer in the lymph nodes. My daughter said that she did not mention it before but where my lymph nodes were all coming out and the ct scan results looked like cancer by the size and placement and generally there is only a 10% chance that it is not so I am praising God that I am in that 10%. I feel good other than the soreness from that biopsy. I do not want to do that one again. I now know from the ct scan that I have a lot of degeneration in the neck. We will have to address how I am to deal with that. I have been doing some reading up on it.

Jolie, that is a nice workout that you put together. That is a lot of steps that you did. I have never had that many steps in a day. Often my FitBit will say 500 or 600 steps to 10000 and I am thinking I am going to bed, not running around trying to get more steps :p You do really well with that. I know I have had some of the best results when I really went all out.

Today I did High Reps 36 minute lower body premix 160 calories. That is all that I did. I had a nice time at grandparents day at the school this morning. My granddaughter 16 was there too. She came and hung out with me while she was taking pictures for the yearbook. Her brother is in kindergarten this year. This is one of the schools special events every year.

Today I did Tracey Staehle's Steady State Step, 56 minutes, 411 calories. I then did Jessica Smith TV lower body barre blast, 15 minutes, 30 calories. I ended with Barre Amped Strength and Stretch ball stretch and relaxation stretch, 23 minutes. 50 calories. Workout was 94 minutes, 491 calories

No workouts on Friday and Saturday, too many football games to go to and I was too tired from staying up late. Today is Sunday and I walked outside, 6 miles and I burned 720 calories. It's a beautiful day and I really enjoyed my workout. Tomorrow I may not get a workout in due to the fact that I am taking my son Jack to get his drivers license in the morning! I hope he passes.

I hope you all have a nice Sunday!

Jolie, good luck getting the driving license. Around here that could mean a long waiting period.

Rest day today.

Today I decided to do Gym Style Chest & Tri's. I am tired of doing my own thing for now so decided to do this. Ha a really good workout. My brother and I painted my mom's bedroom yesterday and my upper back/shoulder area is really sore. I didn't do some of the triceps exercises because they bother that area. I didn't want to push it.

16/12/8/4/2 Push-Ups: Didn't do all 72 but sure did feel what I did
Bench Press: 25's - 3 sets/12 reps
Flies: 15's - 3 sets/12 reps
Inclined Bench Press: 20's - 2 sets/12 reps
Incline Flies: 15's - 2 sets/12 reps

Close Grip Barbell Bench Press: 35# - 2 sets/10 reps
Dips: Skipped
Dumbbell Lying Extension: 10's - 2 sets/8 reps
Seated Overhead Press: 20# – 2 sets/12 reps

Skipped the rest. Then I did a mile on my treadmill.

Jolie - I beat you, I did 21,713 steps on Thursday!! First time I ever did that! Nice job, you did well and great workout too!

Diane Sue - Nice job with your workouts this weekend. I was thinking about doing High Reps today but didn't want to do high reps. LOL!!

Today I did Kelly Coffey Amped Up Cardio Live, 58 minutes, 388 calories. I followed this with Kelly's Home Gym Intervals Waistline 9 minutes, 41 calories. This was a nice compliment to some of drills in Amped Up Cardio. Total time 67 minutes, calories burned 429. I have to go out to the bank and a couple of stores. We need the rain but I do not like to go out in it. Our sun room has decided to leak under the flashing again. Last winter my son sealed it. I needed to get out to do some shopping today. Hopefully I can get some things done around the house and make some calls tomorrow after I get out and vote. I was so undecided on what to do today. I put several workouts in before I decided on Kelly's workout. I like this one. It has some fun to it. I will do some weights tomorrow.

Debbie, I generally do not like to do high rep workouts. Since it is not a favorite I figure I need some of it to balance things out. I really do like the Gym Style workouts and have had some nice results with them.

Busy weekend but I am back

Yestersay was back, Saturday I did legs, and today was biceps and triceps, and I did T25 3.0 this afternoon,

I started my Christmas decorating, I love IT!!!

Go out and Vote today!

My son got his drivers license yesterday, he is driving to school today and I am nervous. I probably wont workout again today because I don't know how long it will take to vote and I have to take my son to the doctors today. In the Varsity game Friday night he went down and now I think he has a broken ankle or foot. The football trainers need an X-ray before he can practice for Friday's Playoff game so I have no choice but to go. He doesn't think it is broken but it is very swollen and now bruising. I think it is a sprain which can be more painful than a break.

I will be back when I finally have some time to read your posts.

Have a great day!

This morning I did Ice Chiseled Lower Body Blast, 48 minutes, 330 calories. I used mostly 12# dumbbells and sometimes 15#. That is all for now. I sort of wanted to do the floor work from Kelly Coffey Split sessions with the firewalker band and a Sarah Beth Yoga I was looking at last night. Her Yin Yoga is the practices that are held for long periods of time. I hurried to shower and get out and vote mid morning. I still ended up standing outside. It is cool today and drizzling so I was glad I had my hooded Nike jacket in the car. It really did not take too long though. I read a bit on my cell phone while waiting. My granddaughter is staying the night tonight and will be here for dinner before she heads back to her school for a cheer practice. We live close to her school and it saves her the trip home. We always enjoy having her come over. It is a good thing I made a big pot of the Fixate Mexican tortilla soup last night. I always leave out some of the tortillas though. She uses 4 in it and for on top. I used 3 this time and made sure I got the La Tortilla factory organic no GMO ones. Sometimes I put none it and just add extra chicken. The organic ones give it a nice flavor though. I rarely use corn and wheat products for myself though.

Jolie, I worried so much when my children first got their drivers license. When my oldest got his my son sent him with his sister in the car across the city to get a toilet tank lid because ours had broken. I was so stressed till they got back to the house. At least they want it checked out before he plays. My grandson had them pushing him to play with a shoulder injury and we discouraged it. I think he just pulled something but they did finally take him in. He is just doing wrestling this year. Good luck with voting. I went mid morning because I figured it would be busiest before work, lunch, and after work. My husband voted by mail but I wanted to fill mine out and watch it go through the machine. :)
