Hardcore Check in for December 2014

Cathlete
I don't see a December check in. I did post back to you Debbie and Roselyn on the November Check in.

Today I did Kelly Coffey's Slim Sculpting Premix Core and Abs 32 minutes, 159 calories. I used a 20# kettlebell for this today. I then did Low Impact Series Slide and Glide mix of cardio, abs, and stretch, 39 minutes, 272 calories. I finished off with P90X 3 Pilates X, 30 minutes, 90 calories. Total time was 1 hr 41 minutes and calories burned 471. I was going to do the Turbo Fire Low impact workout on one of the Piyo discs but it won't play in m tv/dvd player. All of the workouts on that disc will not play there but I can play them on my computer. Funny that the introductions and ads all work. I had the same problem when I tried last week to do Cathe's High Step Training Advanced. It will be nice having my dvd player back. I ordered the downloads with the new workouts. We will see if I can get that figured out. I did try a short ab workout from Cathe once and it works fine on my ipad.

Dang, I forgot it's a new month! LOL!!

So today I wanted to do the Define: Upper Body of PiYo but woke up with a bit of low back pain. I think it was the down-dog with one leg up and where you twist your waist. I think that tweaked me a bit. I got on my treadmill and only walked about a mile. I should be ok by tomorrow, it hardly hurts at all right now.

Today I had to take one of our dogs for her vet visit early so I did X Train Cardio Leg Blast, 57 minutes, 350 calories. I found my Polar FT60 and put new batteries in it. I think it is a little better than the FT7. I need to do the VO2 max and own zone with it. Still I got around a hundred less than on the workout manager. It is cold to day. I am going to make a pot of soup for lunch :)

Debbie, I hope that you are doing well and can get in define upper tomorrow.

Today I did Cardio Coach #3 and then Define Upper Body from PiYo. I didn't get to finish PiYo, I should have given myself an extra 10 more minutes. I'll have to make sure I get the times right while doing these and another workout. I liked what I did, though. I really like Charlene.

Diane Sue - I feel much better today. That was weird.

Today I did XTrain Burn sets upper body, 78 minutes. I then did P90X 3 yoga, 30 minutes. Total calories burned 542 and time was 1 hr 48 minutes.

Debbie, I like Chalene too. I am glad that you are doing better. I may pull out Piyo a little more when I get in my own house. There is just not enough room without modifying for me here. I guess that goes for a lot of workouts.

I almost didn't workout this morning. My DH's dad had to be taken into the ER last night (he is fine, he was just dehydrated) so I didn't sleep too well. But I didn't want to miss another day so I did PiYo Sweat. Loved it. Howerver, something in these workouts is making my low back hurt, though, and I can't figure out what. But maybe it's just a soreness and not strain. It's not bad pain, just discomfort. I'm feeling good after the workout, I'll see how it feels in the morning - that is when I notice it the most.

Hope you all have great workouts today!!!

Today I am watching my grandson so I had to get a quick workout in. I did Tabatacise with core #1, 55 minutes, 413 calories, avg heartrate 144, max 166 which is really good for me :)

Debbie, I have found some of these workouts like Piyo hit muscles a bit different than I am used to. Hopefully it is just muscle soreness.

Today I did my own thing and lifted weights. Put on some good tunes and just did an upper body workout. It felt great!! Lifted moderate weights.

Diane Sue - I do think I'm hitting muscles differently with PiYo. I like those workouts so far. Today my low back feels great.

Roselyn - You should definitely get PiYo!!!

Today I did X Train all out low impact hiit, Piyo Core, and Tai Cheng final phase reboot. Total time was 99 minutes and calories burned 453. I am thinking that tomorrow I will do a total body workout and Tai Cheng Tai Chi all 18 moves. The Tai Chi Neural Reboot is such a good stretch and flexibility workout. I am sure that is why I am doing so much better with my workouts than I have been since the knee issue and surgery. I would have done lower body but since the Tabatas were somewhat tough on the legs I decided to wait. Still a little sore in some upper areas from Burn Sets too.

Debbie, I am glad that your low back feels great today. I like Piyo. It is different and I am always looking for ways to cross train and get in good workouts. The surgeon that did the surgery on my torn meniscus said to cross train.

Roselyn, I think I posted before that Piyo is not a big calorie burner. You do burn more calories than you would in a typical yoga class. The drench and sweat workouts do make you sweat a bit. These are way different than Insanity workouts. More of a yoga/pilates with other moves that get the heart rate up at a faster pace. Also you will get a good burn in some of the moves.

Anyone have an idea how I get rid of the old webpage that does not work ? I have tried but do not know what to do with it.

This morning I did Muscle Max, 68 minutes, 365 calories, Tai Cheng Tai Chi phase 1 moves, 13 minutes, 42 calories. My 6 year old granddaughter wanted to workout with me so we did P90X3 Dynamix, 30 minutes, 125 calories. Total time 1 hr 5 minutes and calories burned 533.

No workout for me today, even though I had an extra hour this morning. I'm so mad. Yesterday my neck started hurting and then it traveled down my upper back again. All I was doing was cleaning off a table. I'm so sick of this crap. Sorry to be such a downer, but dang, every time I start feeling great, this happens. Oh, and my knees - for the first time in a long time - do not hurt!!!

I used the tennis ball last night and that helped a lot. It still hurts, though, so I'm taking a couple days off. AGAIN.

Hope you all have great workouts!!!

Today I did Kelly Coffey's 30 minutes to Fitness Shape up combined workouts, 54 minutes, 395 calories.HR Max 166/avg 130. I then did Tai Cheng Neural Reboot, 29 minutes. I really needed the deep stretch this morning. Total time was 83 minutes and calories burned was 488.

Debbie, sorry about the neck. That is good that the knees are doing good though.
