Hi!

Just wanted to check in quick and say hello to everyone! I'm still working like crazy on the new house, but actually took a very much needed break last night and met my cousin out for some drinks, etc. Unfortunately, I have SEVERAL drinks  and woke up with a bit of a brain-banger! I didn't get my scheduled run in this morning, but I'm sure to burn a lot of calories stripping my workout room floor today!! YAY!! I hope to start moving things in maybe next week, but it will depend on how much I can accomplish over the next few days.

Debbie - Love Step Blast! I'm glad your knee is feeling better - I know how frustrating it is when workouts have to be cut short because of pain/injury - ARGH!

Lori- LOL on the "bum rolling".....made me chuckle a bit!!! Sorry to get a kick out of your pain, "but" you did end your post with "but....." :p Has the weather gotten any better, or are you still freezing? We are just starting to get some very cold nights, and next week looks like it's going to be the first real taste of winter - snow in the forecast - YUK!!

Teddygirl - Nice workouts and eating!! WOW....you are really doing great!

Roselyn - My cookies were sticky also, but the second time came out better using a different protein powder - go figure. :)

Diane Sue - Nice workouts - as usual! Hope you have a great weekend.

Hermia - I was reading your post from yesterday and just wanted to add that cooking at home is almost always better. Unfortunately, I think DH and I tend to eat MORE when cooking "healthy" at home, however, just because we think healthier means less calories.

Hi to Theresa and anyone else I missed. I have been in a walking coma for the past several weeks and I'm certainly quite "foggy" today because of my martini madness last night. DH said I had the "vodka virus" this morning - made me laugh and made my head hurt worse. As for clean eating, I am starting to log all of my food again on Spark people, which seems to be the only way I can stick to a diet! I absolutely HATE when I go over on calories and have to see that on my post - pathetic....

Have a great weekend everyone!

Cheryl

Today was Shoulders & Traps and I had a great workout! This is the end of week 7. One more week and I'm on a weeks hiatus! :D

2 minutes rest between each exercise except when I went to the 15 rep sets. Went right into it after the 3rd set!

SHOULDERS:
Overhead Barbell Press - 35#/12 reps - 2 sets (warmup)
Overhead Barbell Press - 60#/6 reps - 3 sets
Overhead Barbell Press - 45#/10 reps
***Up 3# for the 6 rep sets and 2# for the 15 rep set. I could only manage 10 this morning.

Upright Rows - 57#/6 reps - 1 set
Upright Rows - 60#/6 reps - 2 sets
Upright Rows - 45#/15 reps
***Up 5# for the 6 rep sets, Up 4# for the 15 rep set.

Seated Lateral Raise - 15's/6 reps - 1 set
Seated Lateral Raise - 16's/6 reps - 2 sets
Seated Lateral Raise - 12's/15 reps
***Stayed with 15's at first to see how my right shoulder would do. It felt ok so I upped it 1# from last week for the next 2 sets. Up 1# for the 15 rep set.

Seated Bent Over Lateral Raise - 22's/6 reps - 3 sets
Seated Bent Over Lateral Raise - 15's/15 reps
***Up 2# for the 6 rep sets, really felt them. Stayed the same with the 5 rep set.

TRAPS:
Barbell Shrugs - 85#/25 reps - 4 sets
***Up 5# from last week. Last set was pretty hard. Only took a 1 minute rest between each set.

ABS:
Muscle Endurance Ab Work
***LOVE this one!!! Did abs twice this week!

That is all...

Nice workouts everyone! Cheryl - LOL on the brain-banger! Never heard that term before!!!

I am cooking dinner for the family. They will be here for halloween festivities and as a family send off for dh since he will leave Thursday.

Teddy, I love the scrambled eggs premix. Good workout choice:D

Cheryl, I bet you are anxious to get your workout room set up:) Stripping floors sounds like a workout anyway.

Roselyn, you really did feel energetic:D Maybe if you just use less water in those cookies.

Debbie, after 8 weeks of that I am sure you will be ready for a break:)

Good morning -

Teddy - Nice work - Cathe's premixes are something. Some of them seem tougher to me than the original workout. Well done :)

Roselyn - That's quite a jolt of great cardio. Hope I find some energy later today :)

Debbie - Great workout this morning. Glad your shoulder's doing ok. You've sure blazed through this rotation :)

Cheryl - GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU :). Funny you noticed how I ended my post - I almost spelled but with 2 t's, but refrained ;) - The day's have been really nice after that really cold night, but I can feel it - winter's coming (like you said :( ). Glad you got to have some fun last night and that the work on your house is progressing so well. Floor stripping is tough. Been there. Did our living room while we were living here and it took forever, cuz I had to just do it a bit at a time when I could. Tackling it all at once is better if you can manage that. Don't push too hard though -- and hope you can have "fun." Odd thing to say but sometimes house projects kind of can have that element to them.

Diane Sue - Crazy workout. You must be a maniac or something :p Nice job.

Hermia - I will need to go back and read your post. Glad Cheryl mentioned it :)

I took it pretty easy yesterday -- did chest, bi's and tri's from CTX but changed up the workouts quite a bit. Worked with the foam roller on my "key area (which I'm guessing you guys are tired of hearing about )". It is feeling much better. Insanity Pure Cardio today. I have something else scheduled (can't remember what ). With soccer for DS and some other things, I'll have to get creative in getting it in. We'll see.

Have a great Saturday everyone :)

Lori

Hermia - Has Mark's interest in exercise and eating healthy increased since he's known you? Not sure how long you two have been together, but thinking you set a good example for him. I have a really good friend who's male and eats the way you described ('guy food' ). Sometimes he'll ask me questions about healthier eating and stuff, but it seems very hard for him to break out of the patterns he's used to (guess that's true for most of us in one way or another). Anyway, you're making commendable efforts to help and it sounds like he's really trying, too. Tough with more than one cook around -- that would surely complicate things. Your workout's look really good. Nice balance between cardio, strength and yoga (and sleep when you need it ;) ). You must have had a lot of energy on the day that a Pyramid's workout was just what you needed. Those are not easy. Hope you're having a great weekend.
