HARD CORE FITNESS MANIACS FOR TUES NOV 30

Cardio today, I did Imax 2 and abs from cardio and weights, off early to get a 7:20 mammogram, my birthday treat to myself? I hate those things but we have to get them done. Have good workouts everyone

Today was cardio and I just hopped on my treadmill and did a steady state. When I first started I thought I would jog for a quarter mile, then walk at a fast pace on a high incline for a quarter mile and alternate the two. Was able to do that 4 times until my inner thigh started to really hurt. I can't win, I swear. If it isn't my knee with step, it's my inner thigh with the treadmill. No wonder I don't want to do cardio anymore.

Anyways, I stayed on my treadmill doing a steady state for another 15 minutes. I also did the Ab Work from the new STS Phase 4 DVD. I liked it, Cathe is top notch with ab workouts.

CARDIO STATS:
55 minutes total
8 minutes below zone
36 minutes in zone
21 minute above zone
2.5 miles traveled
479 calories burned

Happy with the calorie burn at least!

Roselyn-HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And you must do something besides a mammo for yourself today:D

Debbie-what stretches do you do? I know you said you would get off the tm and stretch sometimes, but I wondered if you still did that? Also, have you tried foam rolling the inner leg? It looks perverted, but it gets in there. I will try to find a youtube clip of it;Or roll the inner groin with a tennis ball so it can get in there a bit better? Nice workout anyway :D and yes, the moves I do sound very spastic :D

Yesterday I did Providence (AOS kb workout). It is 15 rounds of 2 min work and 1 min rest. My right hamstring and rt trap seized up during the workout, not quite sure what that was about. I took my bcaa/glutamine drink and it seems better. The trap will not really EVER release so I need to make a massage appt....Cardio today.

Morning guys:D

Been MIA, I know….

This morning, I did CC #8 today’s workout was much better than yesterday. I did Candace and could only do 30 minutes :( I even hopped off my treadmill 3x trying to caught my breath. Friday, me and my sister decided to drive to Detroit got back Sunday night. See why I hopped off my treadmill. I'll just say, we partied a bit with cousins:D :p

Roselyn Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Roselyn!!!!!!!! :D I agree with Theresa -- do something special for yourself today.

Debbie- So sorry you're still having problems -- you did get a nice burn though. I actually had a hard time getting going with KP&C - maybe I'm burning it out a little, too. I've done that with other Cathe vids -- mental variation of an overuse injury or something.

Diane Sue - Thanks for the anti-virus suggestion. Don't know why this has been such a hassle lately. Now, my current program won't let me remove it and interferes with me installing something else  WTH ??? I'll try the Avast when I get past this little hurdle, though. I'm assuming this (Cathe's) site is relatively 'safe.' Certainly hope I'm right about that. Also, I've pulled something (muscle(s) ) coughing before -- your cough must be pretty intense to have done that. I'm so sorry -- that's exhausting. Hope you're feeling better today.

Teddy - Laughed about your Detroit adventure ;) - Glad you're recuperating -- nice job today and glad you're back.

Theresa - I like Providence -- but not 'seized up' muscles. The massage sounds like a good idea. Well. That almost ALWAYS sounds like a good idea ;) Hope those muscles calm down and you can have a good workout today. Laughed at Debbie's word choice (spastic :p). Very funny. Guess sometimes spastic can be a good thing -- if you're a maniac.

Leg workout for me yesterday -- Insanity (Pure Cardio) today. Never know if I'll do more than that (on Insanity days) -- will see how it goes and how I feel afterwards.

Hope you all have a great day.

Lori

I got in a pretty good workout despite the fact that I did not sleep well again:confused: Besides all of the coughing I had some kind of stomach thing going. Maybe I ate too many ginger chews and ginger lemon tea? Fortunately the muscle pull felt much better this morning. But I am back to the neck headache thing. Sheesh! I was able to stay in bed longer though. No children to take to school today. Just lots of picking up and running this afternoon.
I started my workout with Kick Punch and Crunch stopping at the final 3 combos. 32 minutes, 218 calories, Max HR 154. Then I did Legs and Glutes 51 minutes, 311 calories. I went a little heavier on most of the moves and used 5lb ankle weights. I finished off with Turbo Fire Lower 20 using my heavy versa loop. 21 minutes 101 calories. I also used the foam roller a little bit but did not use the monitor for that. Workout was 1 hr 43 minutes, 630 calories.

Roselyn, Happy Birthday:D Good for you on the mammogram. I think the are really important. Not pleasant but it could be worse. The place I go tries to make it nice. They have coffee set up and small waiting areas set up and decorated. You get to pick a fresh rose when you leave.

Debbie, I am sorry you have those issues with the treadmill and step. I have my issues with certain things too. Mostly hills on the treadmill. I am ok with step though. I should have my STS total body workout this week. They sent me the shipped notice this weekend so I figure it probably went out yesterday. I am looking forward to it.

Theresa, it is amazing how those supplements seem to help. I need to get some more glutamine. I just ran out. Since I am back to taking my supplements my joints are feeling better.

Teddy, you are back and that is the main thing:D That partying can wreak havoc on the workouts.

Lori, generally after the Insanity workouts whatever else I did felt tame and easy LOL I hate when programs mess with me like that. We had one that came with my laptop that the computer technician had to work with to get it out. I did a search on the program and found that that was a general problem with it. Very annoying.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, my daughter had short classes today so we may do lunch, it is so cold here today, I think a nice winter's nap would be nice!!!!! And then dinner would be nice maybe even brought home to me!!

Diane Sue, that place sounds nice, mine is nice except I don't get a rose not even on my bday. I looked on vitascost at the bichem greens and whey, there were some flavored ones, do you add this to your other protein or drink that. let me know, i could always use more greens

Roselyn - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Hope you have a great day even though you had to have a mammogram. Had my first one this year and it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Nice job with Imax 2!

Theresa - You know the saying "out of sight, out of mind?" Well, that's how I am with my injuries. Once I'm off the treadmill I have no more pain. WTH? So when the evenings come along and I have time to stretch, I don't even think about it becasue I'm not hurting. I need to write myself a HUGE note that just says - STRETCH!! I haven't tried using the foam roller on it, I bet that would help a great deal. I usually just do normals stretches for inner thighs, hamstrings, quads and hip flexor.

Teddygirl - You sure do like CC 6 with Candace. Don't you ever get sick of doing that one? LOL!!!

Lori - Are you liking Insanity??? I think people who do those workouts are INSANE! LMAO!!! JK! ;)

Diane Sue - I usually can work around my injuries but this particular one really has me down because I love running on my treadmill. It has to be my stance. I should go spend some decent money a good pair of running shoes but then if I still have the same problem I'll be mad for spending all that money. Can't win.

Debbie, I know what you mean about spending money to try something and not have it work. I will say changing shoes and adding inserts has helped me a lot. I still have some problems though. I think stretching and using the foam roller are definitely something that can also help. I can tell a difference when I let up on doing it. I think body alignment has a lot to do with mine. Not sure how to straighten it out. Sometimes we are just built a little off.

I agree. I should get me a good pair of running shoes, though. If I get money for Christmas I may just do that.

Roselyn, I believe your needs for protein depends on what type of activities you do and what your goals are. A good book for that is Power Eating by Susan Kleiner. She even has meal plans for both men and women depending on goals like losing fat, getting cut, building muscle, maintenance and how many days a week you work out. There are also formulas for figuring out protein, carbohydrate, and fat needs for your goals.

Meals today were:
Preworkout- coffee with 1 Tbs dark chocolate cocoa mix(Archer Farms)
Post workout- Zone Perfect Peanut butter bar
Snack- garbonzo beans with salsa
Lunch- SouthBeach Quick and Easy Zucchini Curry soup which I added some cubed chicken to
Snack- Pineapple with Myofusion vanilla whey, almonds, and plain kefir
Dinner- Veggie omelet, salad with tomatoes, spinach and lettuce, light blue cheese dressing
