HARD CORE FITNESS MANIACS FOR SAT DEC 11

Cold and rainy in St. Louis. Today I did high reps, then the leg add on from lower blast with the tower, and then I did an Hiit 20 TF, I was very energetic today!!

Today was Shoulders and Traps and I had a really good workout. Really had a killer workout, my shoulders were fried by the end.

WARMUP:
1 minute rest between each set.
Dumbbell Military Press - 12's/15 reps - 2 sets

SHOULDERS/TRAPS
1 minute 30 second rest between each superset.
SS #1
Alternate Dumbbell Military Press - 20's/8 reps - 4 sets
ss w/
Lateral Raise - 13's/12 reps - 4 sets

SS #2
Barbell Front Raise - 25#/10 reps - 4 sets

Bent-Over Lateral Raise - 17's/10 reps - 4 sets
***Could have gone heavier with the front raises. Felt really strong today.

Barbell Shrugs - 100#/15 reps - 4 sets

No cardio again today. Just don't have the motivation to do cardio. I sure hope I get out of this funk. It's been going on way too long, though.

Rest day here, I am going to do a long stretch later. :)

Roselyn-you WERE very energetic today, nice work

Debbie- I feel you on the cardio funk, it seems like I am bored with all the cardio I have. Those are the times when interval treadmill work seems to be best for me, in and out in 30 min.....might be worth a try, although I know that tends to aggrevate your inner thigh. Also, you might check out some of the Turbo Fire workouts, they have really good music that seems to get you going. I wish I had some other suggestions that didn't involve spending money or boring treadmill

Good morning -

Roselyn - I GUESS you were feeling energetic. Holy smokes girl -- lots of great work today :) What did you think of the bonus leg segment? It was windy and rainy here last night, which is very odd for December in Nebraska.

Debbie - "Funks" are tough. It's been awhile since I had one with cardio, but I remember. Not sure that I did anything to get past it -- just rode it out as best I could. You're still getting good cardio in though (if my memory serves me). Just not as much as you want to? Anyway -- your weight training looks great again today :)

Theresa - Enjoy your rest day :) Yay for the stretching. I've been doing more of that lately and really liking it.

It was good to see my Dad yesterday, but we didn't get much time. Last night, I couldn't have cared LESS about working out, but figure if I didn't, I'd probably just ... 'sink.' So, I did shoulders, bi's and tri's (meso 3, week 1). Had a good workout but in something of a funk myself. Mostly it's about ... starting. Tremendous push to do that. In a way, this is always the case (at least with me); starting is the hardest part. I kind of just know that and press on, but it's just very AMPLIFIED right now. Have to drag myself in there by the ear and tie myself to a fixed object so I don't bolt. Well -- mentally feels like that. I do ok after the first ten or twenty minutes, usually. Anyway. Seriously considering trying Intensity today. If I don't do that, I'm not sure what I will do. Lots of higher impact stuff for me lately and this last week, I fudged my "2 day's between extreme Tigger-like actions" rule a few times (today included if I do Intensity). Need to be more vigilent about that. I'm feeling ok but don't want to push it.

Hope everyone's enjoying their Saturday.

Lori

Today I started with Lower Body Blast premix standing, floor, and leg conditioning. Workout was 76:38 min, 442 calories burned. I then put in Rapid Fire with Susan Chung and did the premix Kickbox 1, Heavy bag, 34 minutes. There was no stretch here. I went on to the mix and match area and did the standig core ball and floor work and stretch segments. Workout time was 50 minutes and 344 calories. Max HR was 162.
Total time spent today was 2 hours and 6 minues, 786 calories.
I really liked what I did from both workouts. I put on my Jolie shoe weights( no longer being sold) 1lb for the floorwork and drills. I used an 8lb med ball for abs and core in Rapid Fire.

Debbie, sometimes you just have to go with how you feel. You got in a good weight workout and I know you realize the other did not have to be done anyway and yes you were very energetic tody on the weights.

Roselyn, Nice work as usual:) Nice mix!

Lori, if you do not feel it don't do it. Insanity is a really tough series. Just go with how you feel. You are getting in great workouts. As far as Dad's, when I see mine I usually plan to do nothing. He never stays long my visits cannot be over a few days so I just enjoy the time. If some workout happens I guess that is good. Since he is in his 80's I really want to spend time with him without the other stuff.

Theresa, a long stretch sounds like just what you probably need.

Lori, I do like that bonus leg segment, my husband is from Nebraska, he grew in South Omaha, where do you live in Omaha? My mom-in-law is still there in Miller.

Roselyn - It's pretty late, but I just saw your post. I have a half sister that lives in Omaha. I'm more in the Panhandle region in a place called Scottsbluff. My dad grew up in a tiny town not too far from Kearney and quite a few of my family members are still there. He and my mom lived in Denver for awhile so I'm actually a Colorado native. I came to this area to "visit" my Pop in my early 30's ... and somehow never left. My Dad had the sense to move to Arizona a few years ago. I don't mind Nebraska, but over the past couple of years, the weather's seemed particularly brutal. Maybe I just didn't notice it as much before? Not sure. Anyway, my half sister really likes Omaha but I've actually never been there. Do you ever come back to this area (Nebraska) to visit?

We don't come back to Nebraska as much as when our kids were smaller, my husband has been back a couple of times this year, his mom usually comes this way more.
