HARD CORE FITNESS MANIACS FOR MON JAN 10

I had plans to get up and do cardio this morning. My goal for this week is 3 cardio sessions - possibly 4.

It is my recovery week, so I'm glad about that. Because this is what happened:

For the past few nights we've had a little visitor come to our back door for food. It's the cutest little kittie. I didn't want to start feeding it because I knew it would never leave. DH and I are such bleeding hearts, though, that we started feeding it. Poor thing is so small and just looks so cold outside. Last night I went out to feed it and it came right to me purring and rubbing itself on me. That's all she wrote.

We brought it in the house and put it in one of our spare rooms. We placed a screen door on the door to keep it in and to have our cats get use to it without fighting. It's been eating like crazy, the poor thing is starved.

Last night I woke up around 4:30 and smelled cat piss. We've had our two cats for over a year now and our house does not smell like that. Of course, they are both neutered. So smelling that actually made me feel nauseous so I decided not to workout this morning. I'll do my cardio tomorrow, Wednesday and Friday.

So I called and left a message at a vet out here that's suppose to be cheap ($40 for neutering/spading) and I'm hoping they call us back soon. DH will take the cat to this place and hopefully they can do its shots and neuter it in one fell swoop. Not sure though. I can't take this smell and I hope leaving it in here today that it won't spray anymore. The weird thing is when we finally woke up the smell was almost gone and the room that it's in doesn't smell. Maybe it sprayed when it peed? It used the litter box I put in the room. Not sure.

This sucks, I'm not even sure we should have 3 cats. If we do keep it I hope my cats will be ok with it. They seem ok so far.

People who dump kitties are just mean people! :(

Good morning -

We have two threads this morning. Diane Sue and Roselyn must have posted around the same time. I read them both.

Debbie - Thank goodness there are people like you to cancel out the boneheads  I don't get it either - two families on our block have abandoned their cats. One just left it when they moved  and the other one got a dog and quit letting it inside -- ever (I think it started spraying. It WAS there first and was maybe stressed [?] ). Over Christmas, we had a couple bitterly cold days and DS wanted to go out and try to find them (keep them on our foyer). We looked and looked, but I imagine they'd taken shelter as best they could in a garage or something. Poor little things get socialized -- then dumped. We have four cats  Did not mean to have that many (used to be more), but did the same thing you are doing. I hope the little one adjusts. I know that smell and it is NOT good. The kitty (boy or girl ?) is lucky to have found you. Do you have a name for it yet?

Roselyn - We were supposed to get about a foot, but it missed us. I am perfectly ok with that ;) . Your weather has been pretty tough this winter, huh? Good workout this morning. Stay safe and warm :)

Diane Sue - Looking forward to hearing more about the rotation you're thinking about. It sounds good. Glad you'll have your training partner this morning. She seems to take your workouts to the level of action/adventure :p

Hermia - You must have posted after I did last night (or I missed your earlier post). That would have been pretty late. I will go back and read what you said. Hope all is well :)

I did some leg training yesterday and it went fine :) :) :) . Just the squat and static lunge segment from High Reps, but I didn't skimp on poundage or range of motion and my leg seemed to be groovy with it. Felt kind of "iffy" about the plate work; didn't want to push it with the instability and something about that movement pattern just made me ... unsure. Tough, cuz I've really come to like the sliding stuff. Instead, I repeated the static lunge segment, but subbed in elevated lunges for the statics and zercher squats for the deadlifts. That was all. Very hard because I REALLY wanted to keep working out. Cutting it short seems to take more discipline in a way than pushing to go hard. Instead, I cleaned :)confused:) and kept busy waiting for DS to get home. The town his tournament was in did get a lot of snow, so travel was sketchy. He made it safe and sound and the trip was great for him in a lot of ways. Anyway. Cardio today -- I will probably use my elliptical and also just try out a few more aggressive moves (just a little bit) to see how they feel. I think kb swings should be ok, too.

Have a great morning.

Hello Guys:D

Monday….Monday’s argh…

My morning started with CC#8 had a really good burn in my legs. I am really feeling the soreness from d3 legs. My intentions is to do d-4 CS&B tonight, I pray I have the strength when I get off work, which is always hard for me to go home and push out a workout after 9 hours on the J.O.B. I shall see, if not tomorrow:rolleyes: Have a wonderful day you guys:)

Stats:
55 minutes
400 cals burned
4:16 miles traveled

No time for personals today, I have to leave early. But I wanted to answer Lori.

Our other two cats names are: Bear Monkey and Ass Monkey. This one will be called Fuzzy Monkey. LMAO!!! Ass Monkey's name use to be Spaz, but my dh started calling him ass monkey for some odd reason and it stuck. LOL!!!

My workout is done. I knew I should have waited for someone else to start this:p Todays workout was a mix of things based on a rotation I made 2 years ago. I will just post what I did and say it took 65 minutes and calories burned were 382. I then I did Amy Bento's Hi Lo Dynamics all interval premix which includes more abs and all of the intervals two times, 27 minutes 207 calories, Max HR 163. , I finished off with budokon flow and flexibility first 15 minutes with no meditation 64 calories. I was working on the dancing dog and by the time I reached the full dancing dog the grandbaby had spread toys, blankets colors and everything else out in the workout room. It was way to hard to concentrate and not land on things. I want to watch that move when she is not here and work on it a little more. It is not that difficult, but I think form and foot and hand placement is important to make it flow.

Diane Sue - Holy cow  That is an excellent line up. Just looks like a great workout. I was/am really impressed with how you pulled that together. And yes -- Dancing Dog is a great move (feels good, is fun and also very beautiful, I think), BUT probably even Cameron Shayne would not be able to do it on an obstacle course orchestrated by Olivia ;)

Debbie - Laugh My (Monkey) Ass Off (We are not using naughty language here; we are stating proper names :p). Those are the greatest kitty names. I bet they fit too - thanks for taking the time to answer me -- gave me a very good chuckle. You have quite the trio there (the Three 'Mouse'-keteers ;) ).

Teddy - Well done today. Good stats on the CC -- and probably not easy to go that long with sore legs. Well done! After a long day, doing STS IS tough. Getting started is usually the hardest part for me. Whatever you decide, it sounds like your right back in the flow of things and doing well :)

Roselyn, nice workout. Enjoy the snow(I think;)) I don't mind it if I don't want or need to leave the house.

Debbie, sorry about the cat issues. It was so kind of you to take the it in. That is how my Dad got his two cats. They were left out on their own and kept coming in and out of his house. (He has had cats for years and has a kitty door for them) We have a neighborhood stray dog named Butch. Everyone feeds him and pets him. He comes around and hangs when I am working in the front planters. I heard there is an owner in another neighborhood but he does not want or care for the dog. He is pretty old from what they all tell me. Why do people do that? I LOL at your cats names. We have had some odd names for our dogs like turkey and waldo and I guess now Mudd. I don't think it would probably be good when the grandchildren were around :p

Lori, I am glad to hear that your son made it home(I knew he would) safe and sound. I am also glad to hear that you were able to get in some weight work with no problem. I thought about adding in some of the sliding work today but held off. The rotation I planned and did before has metabolic workouts(they used AOS Providence) in between the weight days. On workout B (the one I did today would be workout A) I did Slo Mo Total Body Challenge 2. Then I would repeat workout A on Friday or Saturday. I think maybe with some kettlebells in between 3 weight days adding that much might be too much. I am going to not do as many kettlebell workouts as I did before. Last time I started having some shoulder issues because I did them all of the metabolic days. I also think I am going to fit in some of Lauren Brooks Kettlebell workout that I have. Anyway. This is just to give you an idea of what I am planning. I will probably tweak it here and there. I need to make myself a new copy of my rotation when I get it all figured out:)

Teddy, good job on the workout. I can definitely understand going home from work and doing a workout. I think once things like that become a habit though it is not as hard. I used to workout late at night years ago. I did daycare during the day and dh worked at night. So that is how I managed to get it all in. Now, I think no way could I do that:)
