HARD CORE FITNESS MANIACS FOR MON FEB 14

Happy Valentine's Day everyone, I did Bodymax 2 today, had a good workout, crossing for my finger for a dark chocolate covered strawberry today, don't know if hubby will even remember how much I look forward to one of those on this day!! He might we shall see.
 
Today was total body. This starts my 5th week on this rotation. I'm glad, that means I have 4 more weeks of it. I love this rotation.

2 sets/18 reps and 2 minutes rest between each set.

Leg Extensions - 40#
***This was REALLY light, but still worried about my knees. I know this exercise is frowned upon due to knee stress. Did it really slow and got a good burn by rep 15 - 18.
Hammer Curls - 15's
Hamstring Curls - 40#
Lateral Raise - 10's
Flat Dumbbell Flyes - 22's
Double-Arm Rows - 22's

Then I did Yoga Stretch from Karen Voight's Yoga Flow DVD. Felt great!

Debbie-I am glad you are enjoying your rotation so much :D Glad the knee is cooperating.

This weekend was a bust, but I am back on the wagon. I have to switch shifts w/ my coworker but I couldn't sleep in to save my life :D I took the dogs on a walk, and then came back and did some yoga. I may need more of that same thing tonight, I am very tight and my mid back is sore. Ugh...this getting old is not for the weak :confused:
 
My workout yesterday was Extremely Ripped Bootcamp w/up and rnd 3 (crab, lunge/bicep/arnold press, jump squats) 16 min 110 calories Max HR 156.
I then did Slow and Heavy Triceps, Biceps and Abs using the Bowflex for most moves 60 minutes, 333 calories, I added some ab work Bowflex trunk rotation with a hold 2 sets 20 reps left then right 30lb, Bowflex seated resisted crunch 40lb, then Swiss Ball roll out in plank position 2 sets 12 reps, 12 min 57 calories.
TOtal tine was 88 min and calories burned 500.
Today I did Jari Loves Extremely Ripped Bootcamp w/up and rnd 2 (crawling chest push ups , plank rows and kneeling back rows,jacks/tuck jumps 16 min 100 calories. I followed with Slow and Heavy Chest and Back using the Bowflex for all moves except the deadlifts 58 min 235 calories. I then did Intensity W/up and first 4 minutes of step twice(I forgot to turn my HR monitor back on so redid it) Hiit Lo and Bootcamp Str, 35 min305 calories. I finished off with Turbo FIre Stretch 10, 12 min 50 calories. Total calories burned was 690 and time 1 hr 57 min.

Bowflex curls 40lb each hand 3 sets 8 reps

barbell curls 48lb 1 set 8 reps, 46lb 2 sets 8 reps
Bowflex seated wrist curls 30lb ea
Bowflex standing reverse wrist curls 10lb ea

My eating has been pretty good. Yesterday's eats were:
Preworkout coffee with fat free half and half
lunch-brown rice gluten free wrap with greek and roasted garlic hummus, bell pepper, tomato,onion, spinach and mushrooms fresh ground black pepper
snack- almonds
dinner- Turtle Island Marinated tempeh-coconut curry recipe slightly altered on back of package. This was yummy and had asparagus in it. I will definitely make it again. I put over a bed of spinach leaves instead of rice.
snack- Schwann's triple berry blend topped with a little coconut flour and cinnamon in the microwave and topped with Myofusion Vanilla Whey and plain kefir
1,466 calories; 147 gms carbs; 69 gm fat; 82 gm protein

Debbie, I always thought that doing leg extensions was supposed to strengthen the knee area. That is great that you are enjoying your rotation.

Roselyn, dark chocolate strawberries sound yummy. You reminded me I had valentine goodies for the children.

Theresa, you are not old. You wouldnt see many old people do what you do. Sometimes lack of sleep and other things can lower the energy for anyone.

Theresa - Getting old sucks!! I was looking at some pictures my mom had of me from some 20 years back. :eek: What happened to that girl? Really bummed me out. I had flawless skin - now I have wrinkles; my eyes were bright - now its all I can do to get them to look nice with my makeup. Frustrating and depressing. But such is life I guess...

Diane Sue - I've heard mixed things about the leg extensions. More bad then good, especially if you use heavy weights. It puts a really high amount of stress on the knee which can cause problems in the future. I always try to be careful when I do that exercise. Glad your eating was good this weekend - mine sucked. I hate weekends. :(
