HARD CORE FITNESS MANIACS FOR JULY 31

Good Morning, Maniacs. Today I did STS Plyo Legs disc 29 and yoga abs. Drinking a protein shake right now and feeling ready to face the day. Will post meals later. Have a good day.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Yesterday I decided to just get on elliptical instead of doing plyo's cuz I would have had to do plyo's in livingroom and rattle the pictures on the wall, etc. from jumping so much as my daughter has my tv that is usually in the basement in her room while she recovers from having her wisdom teeth removed..she is doing well though. So I burned 439 cals, 50 mins time and traveled 5.9 miles with avg speed of 9mph. Today I am gonna do Yoga X..suppose to be arms/shoulders, but if I do Yoga tomorrow I will have many interruptions. lol.

Have a great workout!

Ok, started STS today. Did Meso 1, Disc 1 - Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. Non-stop workout. 15 reps with most exercises. Did two different bicep curls doing 21's. Did narrow grip and wide grip. Really felt those. Time flew by.

These were the exercises. Not sure if posting the weights even matters. I had to lower on a lot of them. These exercises are very deceiving. They catch up to you quick. And she does a huge amount of pushups. I'm not too fond of that, but I did them.

1.5's means doing one full range of motion and then a partial rep. These killed.

Push Ups - Standard
Push Up Wide
Push Ups - Standard
Alternating Seated Overhead Shoulder Press (dumbbell)
Barbell Curl
Incline Chest Flys (dumbbell)
Seated Rear Delts (dumbbell)

Incline Front Raise on Stability Ball (dumbbell)
Standing Quarter Stop Curls Both Arms (dumbbell)

Core Pushups - boot camp style
Seated Front Press Double Arms 1.5\'s (barbell)
Reverse Dumbbell Curl
Staggered Pushups
Incline Rear Raise on Stability Ball (dumbbell)
Barbell Curl Wide Grip

I will weigh myself and take my measurements tomorrow. Not that that matters. Seems I'm still the same as I was on Jan. 1st. Getting real frustrated with that.

SO HERE I GO!

This is one of those days that my workout took forever. Loads of interruptions. I started with a kettlebell workout and the sprinkler guys showed up so the doorbell woke up the grandbaby and I had to get DH up to talk to them. Then I had to make breakfast. Went back to finish the kettlebell workout then served breakfast. Started my weights but had to break to get the baby out of the high chair and dressed. Then I kept having to get her out of stuff throughout the rest

As an explanation I had two grandchildren here last night because their Dad is getting an MRI this morning early for a neck and head injury from when he was in afghanistan.
OK workout was Amy's Kettlebell Dynamics workout #1, abs and stretch, then I did Slow Motion Challenge #1 adding tje triceps push downs and incline lying bicep curls with the band, then I did Turbo Jam 3 T and finished off with Tracey's Yoga Solutions post cardio segment and some shoulder stretches with the strap. Total calories burned was 702 55% fat.

Charlotte, well wishes to your daughter. My granddaughter 14 is getting hers out the 11th. The orthodontist said they had to come out and then she could get rid of the braces in 3 months. They are putting her to sleep to do it. I hate doing yoga with interruptions. My short segment today was interrupted with grandbaby jumping on my head. Wasn't nice on the neck:eek:

Debbie, I found it hard to post all of my weights when doing Meso 1.

Morning Maniacs -

This morning I'm a bit sore from Insanity yesterday, but I chose to do weights anyway. I did Gilad's Cutting Edge workout #2. I really liked it. Again, the format was weight segment, kickbox segment, more weights and cooldown. I also added on my new Shadowboxer DVD with the contraption (with the lighter resistance cord). I did the 20" workout and then I did Flow Yoga with Jennifer Lynn and the Fitness Fix foam roller segment (ouch that was painful).

I work late today....so I had some extra time to workout.

I posted about Insanity yesterday for those that are interested. I forgot to mention that even though my Max HR was only 168 during Insanity, it hovered around 155-160 the entire workout....so it's a pretty decent workout and I'm sore in all different places than normal....so I think it does a decent job of working your body. I'm not sure if the rotation would be bordering on overtraining or not.

RE: The Physique 57 DVDs.....they look good, however, I was not in the mood for that sort of workout today. I'll have to try them soon though.

Have great workouts everyone. Off to get ready for work.

ETA:

Diane Sue - we were posting at the same time. I hear ya with the interruption thing. I got interrupted several times during my yoga workout. I was upset! Took me forever to finish.

Deb - I'm thinking about starting STS in the Fall. I hope you enjoy it.

Afternoon guys, man oh man, I been so busy on the internet :eek: time has gotten away from me.

This morning, I did CC#8:) I had a blasts ;)

Stats:
59:00 minutes
4:19 miles traveled
473 cals burned

Have a good weekend all :)

Lora, guess I have complained enough because my grandson was pulling his sister off of me saying Nana can't relax very much with you doing that! He did my tubing workout with me. I am not up on some of these workouts. Still trying to absorb Insanity and CLX. It seems everyone wants to do them because everyone else is. I want to know how good they are for the long run and if they are effective. I have always like Kelly Roberts. How is the shadow box workout?

Spent the afternoon baking cookies for dh to take to work for a birthday. I made way too much dough so froze the dough. I know if I baked them and froze them I could microwave them and eat them:eek: So far so good I am avoiding those cookies.

Today I finished Meso !! WooHoo! It was Disc 12 Legs. Have been at the beach all day with my mom and the kids so I will post the stats tomorrow! Have a great weekend!

Diane Sue - just got home from work, so I'll post....cuz I know sometimes you're up at this time. Shadow Boxer was fun...but I only did the short 20" workout. The good thing is that it is led by Keli Roberts and I love her. Also, it makes for a more intense boxing workout....plus you can use it with any boxing DVD. It comes with 3 resistances and I'm sore from just using the light resistance...LOL, but I think I'm combo sore from Gilad, Insanity and Shadowboxer ....plus I did a HEAVY Chalene Xtreme workout the other day also. I guess I've been hitting it hard lately. I'm a bit psyched cuz the scale's finally starting to move the right way and sometimes when I catch a glimpse of myself....I think "not too bad".....but can use much more improvement!

I wanted to do the 45" Shadowboxer workout in the AM...but I'm not sure if it would be a good idea since I'm so sore...can hardly lift my arms and I NEVER get this much DOMS.

I'll keep you posted on Chalene Xtreme and Insanity, as I do them more. The Chalene one is a bit on the short side, so peeps like us would probably add on cardio or kettlebells to the weight days.......or you might even want to add more! Off to watch GH and get ready for bed. I work early tomorrow!

Lora, I am almost always up late on weekends. DH works nights quite a bit on weekends and I have nothing else to do but surf the net. Well, I could do something cleaning or something:p As hard as you workout you have to look great. I am glad you are seeing some results. I would just see how sore you are in the morning and then decide on whether or not to do the longer shadow boxer workout. I know if my arms and shoulders are sore I will skip the heavy bag workouts or the kettlebell ones that I have planned. You don't want overuse injuries:)

Linda, you actually counted all of those pushups?? LOL I just write a ? mark most of the time rather than try to figure it all out when there are so many reps. Although I think Cathe has reps in her guide but then sometimes the way exercises are done I question how many reps that really was since they are like reps with reps:)
