Morning Fit Ladies -

Well, this morning I was a bit late getting started cuz my DVD player won't work. I was all set on doing Imax 2 today, but it's on DVD, so I had to scramble for a tape. I just read on the forum that someone said Hot Steps by Kari Anderson was fun, so I pulled that out. It was just okay. I can't believe she used to be one of my favorite instructors. Boy, have I changed over the years. I got a moderate workout. I burned 340 calories (from w/u thru c/d), so it's half decent. Not a total waste.

I sure hope my DH knows how important the DVD player is to me cuz he made a comment about not having any money!! I didn't bug him about it cuz he's the kind of person that if you say even one thing, he says you're nagging or annoying him and he won't do what you want to spite you....so I just just my mouth. I'm praying that he'll pick one up tonight when he goes to the grocery store after work. Yes, that's right....he goes to the store cuz he only works till 1:30 pm, so the person with the better work schedule always gets those duties in our family and that's him right now.

Nicole - P90 Masters weight routine is a total body one and it's only 40 minutes. The set has Cardio Intervals - 60 min interval aerobics, Plyo Legs 50 min plyo/leg workout, UML - Upper MIddle Lower (45 min?) ...sort of like Core Synergestics, Core Cardio - Ab work with aerobics in between 50 min, Sculpt 5/6 & Sweat 5/6 - regular 50 min aerobics. IT's supposed to be a stepping stone between the regular P90 series and P90 X. I really enjoyed the rotation that I did a while back. It's like a mini P90X. I think next time I do it, I'm going to add Power Half Hour weight workouts for some of the weight days. Power Half Hour has one tape for legs, hips, arms/upper. I don't think I'm overtrained, as I've been slacking a bit, if anything, lately. I have only been working out an average of 50-60 minutes a day (longer on the weekends, but because of yoga).

Have great workouts everyone. I'm off to preorder Eion's new yoga DVD. It's supposed to be for sale today. I'll try to check in from work later. I hope my boss doesn't go all Jekyl on me today!!
 
Good Morning,
I slept better last night. I woke up at 4 am and realized I had lost my goggles somewhere. I wasn't sleeping on my back like I was told to do. So I hunted them down and then dozed till time to get up:( Two more nights of goggles. Today I will do cardio and stretching or yoga. Friday and Saturday I will work in Super Sets upper and lower body and another ab workout.

Lora, your boss sounds awful. I cannot imagine why they keep her working there. I hope she is in a better frame of mind today. I hope you get a new dvd player soon. I would be in trouble as I sold almost all of my video tapes. I have one Cathe and three Firms left. The Cathe is MIS and the only reason I did not sell it is that it got caught in the vid player and has a small glitch in the ab section.

I'll check in later. I need to go shopping for some new eye makeup and applicators. I did that last time I had laser surgury to avoid bacteria. I am supposed to go 1 week w/o eye makeup. We are going out Saturday so I will probably use some anyway.

I accidentally double posted again. My laptop has had some weird quirks where it will just up and do stuff on it's own. Sometimes just leaning my hand on the edge of it. I think it is possessed or I am losing it:)

This morning I did Pyramid Shoulders and Muscle Max Shoulders. Got a great workout! I love these two workouts together, they compliment each other very well. My shoulders were fried.

Then I did CTX Kickbox with my 1 lbs gloves on and again really felt it in my shoulders, lots of arm work in this one, those back fists really burn the shoulders good. I also did CTX Kickbox abs, love that one. The plank work in this one is great. I forgot to put on my HR monitor so I have no clue how many calories I burned. Probably not too much.

Lora - my DVD player was giving me grief today too. I have to use my laptop in weight room because I don't have a TV or DVD player in there yet. What a pain!

Diane Sue - Glad you are doing well with your eye. Glad you got some sleep!

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Well I got DOMS in my biceps this morning, glutes, thighs, calves and shoulders! This is what I did yesterday:

Bicep curls with 70# bar in 3 sets of 8 (another 5# heavier then last week...yippee)!!! 3 sets of 10 with 30# db's doing hammer curls, db curls and then I went to 25# db's to do inclines in 3 sets of 8 (those made my arms feel like they were going to burst)

Tricep dips with a 50# barbell in my lap with my feet propped up on chair in 3 sets of 8. Close Grip Extension with 55# bar in 3 sets of 6. One Arm Tricep Extensions w/12# db in 3 sets of 8.

Shoulder work I did Reverse Overhead DB Extension with 8# db's in 3 sets of 10. Front Raises w/10# in 3 sets of 10. Lateral Raises in 3 sets of 10.

Legs I did later in the evening doing 3 sets of 20 squats with 80# and then plie squats the same and deadlifts.... (last set 15). 150 walking lunges in the house with 15# db's and last 50 outside cuz my dog had to go out. 3 set of 20 for the following: leg presses with 15# db's, hamstring curls with 40# and leg curls with 60#.

I did not do any ab work cuz I was too tired so I will do that today and practice doing some pushups and pullups. I would like to get in a bike ride too if the rain stops.

My boss is in her only short meeting of the day. She's in a REALLY bad mood. Yikes.

Toasty - I'm gonna try to email you later. I'll either email you from work or send you a PM. I've been meaning to mention that you're avatar is too cute. I wish I looked as good as you girlfriend!! You are very photogenic also.......something I am not.

ETA: Meant to ask everyone. Have you ever been to a doctor and been really nervous so you're blood pressure read high but you know you don't ever run high blood pressure? I've had this happen to me once and my BP usually runs 90/60 when I'm relaxed. My DH went to his MD yesterday for ringing in his ears that has been present 3 days. His MD took his BP and said it was high. He doesn't remember the number, but I asked him if he was nervous and he said "very". I know he hasn't had it taken for a LONG time, but last time he had it taken about 10 or so years ago, it was 120/80. He is really REALLY upset and won't leave this alone. He has to go back in a week. Just wondered if anyone had anything to share so I can ease his worry. My Mom also had the same thing happen to her once from being nervous.

Well, I started to do IMAX2 Homemade circuit (Interval with weights in-between), but just didn’t feel like myself this morning. I could have been the ice cream samitch I had before bed.x(
So, I did Push Pull. I like that one. It's just tough enough, but not too tough for when you're just not up to a grueling workout.

Lora, one of my resent dr. apts. my blood pressure was much higher than usual. I'm certain it was stress related. We have been hit recently with things that are hurting us financially. It's a struggle now to get caught up on bills. I'm paying credit with credit and it makes me sick. Anyway, your dh should try to calm himself down before the apt. it may help. Anything to avoid BP medication! Those have BAD side effects.But if he's a spiteful person, maybe he's angry inside and that effects his BP. Hmmmm...
BTW, next time your "boss" does something crazy stupid....just snicker at her and roll your eyes. She'll know she does not bother you. Man, I can’t get over her.

Charlotte, great workout yesterday. It’s been raining where I live a lot too. Maybe next week I’ll get outside. Do you use free weights when doing leg curls, or do you use a cable?

Diane Sue, I’m glad you slept better last night. Is it uncomfortable to sleep with the goggles on? I would think wearing eye makeup on Saturday is fine because it would have been a few days since the surgery.

Debbie, nice shoulder w/o today. Yeah, I remember that I like those back swings in the CTX Kickbox w/o.

Well -she's in a MOOD again today. I tell ya! I hope God has a special place in heaven for me! The girl that I was on the phone with yesterday asked me how the heck I work for her. She said you can't get a word in edge wise and she just thought it was a bad day. Now she knows it's always like this cuz something else happened with her again today!! Yes, sometimes I go home and laugh at stuff cuz of how absurd it is. Some days it's like twisted comic relief...only I'm the joke!!

This morning I rode with two friends - one gal who I've only gone on evening rides with b/c she said she's not a morning person. But she showed up. I was so happy! She's going to go again tomorrow. It was SOOOOO windy! I was going 36mph on the way home b/c the wind was behind me. I did 21.5 miles, 16.7mph avg, HR average 167 and high 188. It was 1 hr. 17 minutes.

MY TRICEPS ARE SORE!!!!!!! YIPEEEEE!!!! Must have been the 25# dumbell during overhead presses. Charlotte - I tried dips with a bar on my lap with weight and ended up with major DOMS in my upper back. :( I wonder if I did something wrong? I hadn't worked back that day.

Lora - YES! I always have really high BP when I go to the gyno. The funny thing is that I don't think I'm that nervous. But when I was growing up I babysat for a woman who was absolutely terrified of going to the gyno and made a huge deal about it. That must be stuck in some deep, dark places in my head. My doctor made me monitor it b/c she didn't believe I had low blood pressure normally and she threatened medication if it didn't show normal. It's always normal at other dr. appointments. Have him take his BP at Wal-Mart or a grocery store in the pharmacy area when he's not nervous. That's what I had to do and it was perfect. So now they just laugh at me. They call it White Coat Syndrome. Sorry about your DVD player. :(

Debbie - another great workout! I can't believe you use a laptop. You are DEDICATED!!!

Charlotte - if I'm ever feeling strong, all I have to do is read your posts and I'm insta-wimp! I hope you cheer up soon. I work with a gal who hates cloudy weather or rainy weather and we had that all last week. I was about to smack her! I told her to move to Florida - the sunshine state. :p But I do think that kind of weather does depress a lot of people. You're definitely not alone.

Susan - I hope you're feeling better. Good job on working out anyway. I also hope that the financial stuff gets worked out soon. That's never fun and so stressful.

Today I plan on doing PS triceps, and some kind of cardio?? Whatever trips my trigger!! I tell you I this series is a bit dated, but it is a classic!! I just love the standing leg work in this series!!

Diane Sue hide ALL your birk's from Jasmine haha. I bought some stuff called sour apple and you can spray it on stuff to keep them from chewing. How are your eyes feeling today?

Charlotte - EXCELLENT workout yesterday! You are a true MANIAC!!!

Lora - When I go to the doctors my BP is usually up as well. What I do (this is a trick the nurse told me) is right before they take your blood pressure, breath in really slow and breath out really slow. Do this when they take your pressure as well. It works.

Nicole - I also love the PS series, it took me a while, though. I always add a third set to the exercises where she only does two. And I go heavy with this one. Its a great series!
 
Sorry to intrude on your thread but dogs2birds suggested I checkout Charlotte's posts because I was asking about her workouts.

Anyway, all I can say is W-O-W!!! You are awe-inspiring! 70# barbell curls and one arm tricep extensions with 12# dumbbells! Holy smoke. You go girl! Congratulations on your achievement.
