^^^ Happy Weekend! MELTERS! ^^^

Good Sunday!

I just watched the Pope pray at ground zero--of course I got teary-eyed...I have this love for him, even though I am not Catholic..sorry to go on about this subject, but the whole thing fascinates me for some reason. Maybe I was Catholic in another life?

Leanne, wow, you have done some serious melting sister!:) Time to go buy a whole new wardrobe--ask for that raise after they name you "teacher of the year!";) I am sure you looked fabo in whatever you wore, and yes, please post pictures! Tea, is a very, very poor substitute for coffee, I have never understood what the fuss is all about concerning tea.x( Blech. I am an original Starbucks girl--I lived right next to Pike Place Market in Seattle right where the original Starbucks is located!

Jennifer, Seville is lucky to have such a caring "mom!":)

Robin...snakes? Uh, I would send the camera and stay home if it was me..snakes are the one thing that scared the crappers outta me! When I was little I used to have nightmares about them. What church do you attend?

Hi to the rest of you melters this morning!:) Today is my cheat day...yeah. I don't go nutso, but its nice knowing I have a day I can put whatever I want into my mouth without worry. I think I will stick to my baked chips, lowfat cheese with light sour cream nacho thing i do. I adore Mexican food, and nachos are my favorite in the world.:p

BBL after our brunch...I always get the salmon and green beans, not a cheat at all, but soo yummy!:)

Hello fellow Melters!

I have been extr busy today trying to get ready to leave for Memphis tomorrow morning. I had laundry to do etc and all the normal chores around here. I did the I-Climb Circuit today, but subbed the treadmill for the eliptical. I liked it a lot better. You can really go heavy with the weights on this one for the lifting part. It's a quick total body workout with some cardio thrown in. The rest of the week will probably be cardio if I am lucky enough to snag one of the two treadmills they have at the hotelx( .

Shelly:
This week, make sure you get your butt out of bed young lady and start this thread, after your workout of course! Listen to me going all "Mom" on you! LOL:7 With this great weather we are having, maybe you'll be able to run outside.

Jennifer:
Glad to hear the Kitty is ok!

Lainie:
Good for you for ordering that chicken breast instead of a fat hamburger! I know CAthe is using 5 risers on each side, plus she has the slanted risers! Way too much for me.. I think I will keep what I have for now, except for the pull up thing she is going to have, and the weighted vest..

Tneah:
How fun to see Tony Bennett! The dog show was good...makes me want to get another one even worse! Glad to hear you are starting back with your painting again.

Leanne:
Cudos on being one of the finalists for the teaching award!:) Thanks for the promo code. I think if I use it it will be on line. I'm not much for mall shopping..and the mall that the ATL store is in is one of my least favorites to go to. WOW..scary about the e-mail..You did the right thing by sending it to the Dept Chair and Dean. How stupid is that kid anyway? The situation with the dress is dilemma we all hate to be in.. you have an occasion to attend, and in your mind you have it all set to wear a certain thing..then when it gets to be time to get dressed, IT DOESN'T FIT! Usually it's too tight, or small, but in your case, being too big is kind of a good thing right? ;-) ..and yes we would love to see pictures!
Robin:
Thanks for the movie review! Is your baking for church? I don;t think I would go on the "snake" adventure either.

Have a great day, and rest of the weekend...

Deb:)

Hello Melters.

It's interesting the Dalai Lama was at the Uof M Crisler arena this weekend and it didn't even make the news, for me, I would be more interested in seeing the Pope.

Robin-no snake adventure for me. On MSN.com, they have a story on a cop rescuing a pet owner from a python today.

Tneah-Tony Bennett? Wow, I'm impressed.

Leanne-Congrats on being a finalist! Teaching is hard work, I have a brother and SIL that are both teachers.

Shelley-this summer and spring, I'm considering working out prior to work daily but that's way too early for me to do. I do it on the weekends (sometimes).

Lanie-Eating clean can be a challenge sometime especially when everyone else is eating everything.

Deb-Have fun in Memphis. Never been there before. I've been to Nashville and Chatanooga and the Great Smokies too.

Hey Melters!

What a quiet group we've been this weekend.

Well, DH is finishing his workout and then we're going coffee maker shopping. Hooray! I'm seriously dying here without my coffee today! After that, we're taking a little road trip up to Hollywood. One of my favorite little indulgences/addictions is this company called Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab (www.blackphoenixalchemylab.com) that makes these perfume oils that all have neat literary/artsy/gothic themes. The store itself is only open once a month on the full moon, so we're going to go up and test out some scents and make a day of it! We're taking DH's Prius since gas is still so dang expensive.

If I don't get a chance to check back in later, hope you all have wonderful afternoons and evenings!

Tneah -- I watched some clips of the Pope on-line, too. Seeing him always makes me miss my mom and grandma; they were both really religious (Italian Catholic), and my grandma had pictures of Pope John Paul II all over her place. I always get teary, too, and it makes me think that I need to go to Mass. You're such a spiritual and compassionate person! How is your cheat day going so far? That fish didn't sound like too much of a cheat }( , but I'm sure those nachos will be delicious. Mmmm -- Starbucks! You must have had coffee running through your veins since you lived so close to the original store!

Deb -- Yes, that incident with that student is just so incredibly strange! I hate shopping in malls, too; I'd much rather shop on-line and not be bothered with all the crowds. Let us know if you find some good bargains! We'll miss you this week, but hope you can see the town a bit while you're in Memphis!

Jennifer -- Are you having a relaxing day today? Did you workout at all? What grades do your brother and SIL teach?

Robin -- Hope you have fun visiting the snakes! Of course, sending the camera might be better idea! ;-)

Hi to everyone else! We miss the rest of you!

Hi,

Just popping in for a bit before starting dinner... did everyone catch the guys started a check-in? How great is that! I love the one that was worried about how he was going to break it to his wife about buying all this Cathe stuff! where have we heard that before? too funny..:7

It's been a Garden Max day for me. This morning our church met just across the street at the park in honor of Earth Day this week (think it's actually on Tuesday). Every year we meet at a park and clean up and plant stuff. This year it happens to be the park by us, which was nice. So we did some flower-planting over there and then after lunch we went to Home Depot for supplies and came home to do more gardening. I put some yellow tulips in my window boxes by the kitchen. I also got some red and purple ones for the front garden and moved a bushy plant from the front to the back (not easy but I think I did it o.k.) Brian's doing the lawn care stuff. He does the grass and trees and I do other plants and flowers.

I still haven't gotten a complete go-ahead on the Cathe RT expenditure, but I'm feeling optimistic. And since we canceled our travel this week it should be easy enough to be online at the right time to sign up.

I feel rather behind on everything here today, but I'll try to catch up a bit.

Leanne, good luck with the weird student thing. I have heard odd stories like that from my mom, although usually her problems were at least with her own students. I also had a boyfriend once with a father who was an art prof at the same school where Mom taught. His dad had to change his phone number and make it unlisted because of a student who got a crush on him and started stalking him. Oh, and I wish I had your problem of being too small for a dress. :) I know it is annoying, but it's more annoying to be too big! Last night I actually ordered a skirt on eBay that I already own--but I ordered it in a bigger size than what I have. x(

Jennifer, how did it go in Holland? I used to live in Holland, but in the Netherlands--never been to the one in Michigan. :)

Deb, I at least already have the slanted risers, but I think I can only do 3 risers on each side. With the new ones I'll at least be able to do 4 on each side. I'd also like the weighted vest and the pull-up thingey, too. That's good that the guys have a check-in and a good idea. We know they're out there so they should have a place to go to find each other.

Hey, can anyone tell me the difference between a pull-up and chin-up?

Tneah, I am fascinated by the rituals of the Church, as well, but I was raised in a different kind of church. I've sort of compromised by becoming Episcopalian--more rituals and tradition than what I grew up with, but not as "intimidating" as Catholicism, if that makes any sense. I also like how the Episcopal church is a little more open-minded about certain issues than either the church I grew up with or the Pope--though I greatly admire the good Popes can do in the world.

Robin, have fun with your 4DS workout! I sure love those workouts.

Yawn...hello gals! Just woke up from a little nap. I snacked on yogurt chips while catching up on the latest addition of "Us Weekly"...instead of starting the book I was going to. :) We had brunch earlier, it was pretty hot outside though, we go to an outside bistro...I had the salmon and green beans...:9

Think I am going to take a walk and then make some nachos for dinner and then maybe a bowl of ice cream.Oh I love Sundays I do!

I read everyone's post today, just am feeling sleepy still...yawn...but you know I love ya'll!

Oh. Guess what? I am going to have to have a root canal done on my poor mouth this week, I have an inflamed nerve that really really hurts and my dentist prescribed painkillers to get me through the weekend. Luckily it doesn't hurt if I take the painkillers, but when they wear off? Uh, you all know what that feels like. Talk at you guys tomorrow, and have a awesome Sunday evening!
