This is a wonderful place to come...the people are so warm and caring. I hope it is a great year for you, Cathe, with the new baby coming and you too, Chris, thanks for the help when I was so computer illiterate.

The best to you both.

Did you see the Canine Partners Float?

Hi Cathe,

I want to wish you a Happy New Year as well. One of my rituals on New Years Day is to watch the Rose Parade. Would you believe that for the first time in the parade's history, Canine Partners had a float? They had some of the dogs and their partners sitting on the float. The commentators spoke briefly about the program and also mentioned that the puppies stay with a family their first year of their life prior to going to their service dog training. This float was at the very end of the parade, though. I believe that the float even won an award. :)

Actually ...

It was Guide Dogs for the Blind, which is located right here in Northern California. I work at the school on weekends with the puppies. Worst job in the world! ;-)

The school was all a-buzz about the float. I didn't get to see it, though.

On a somewhat related but off-topic note, the Volunteer Director for our school is going to take part in the Olympic Torch relay sometime around January 18-19. She is blind, so she will walk her portion accompanied by her guide dog.

Happy New Year to Cathe and the educated crowd!!!

Thanks for all you do for us Cathe. I love your strenght tapes! Not only am I stronger, more defined and fitter, but my running has improved so much since I started running in high school!!

thanks again!

Thanks for the clarification

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought it was an excellent float. That's wonderful that the Director will be participating in the Olympic Torch relay. What an honor!
