Pastel de Tres Leches

I found Rick Bayless's version. He says it's popular in Mexico & other parts of Latin America. Some of the cream is made into a custard & drizzled over the cake while it cools. The rest of the heavy cream is whipped with sugar & orange liquor then used as a frosting.

I'd be happy to e-mail this version of the recipe to you. Personally, I'd leave it alone & save it for an occasional indulgence. When I'm bad, I want to be very, very bad. There's a reason this is called "Celebration Cake".

Believe it or not, I found a very much de-fatted recipe posted on the former "Soar" recipe site. I'll post it real soon, I promise.

Probably, but I'm disappointed that there is no chocolate in it! I suppose I could sprinkle it with chocolate chips!;-)

Thanks! but i had a great time reading the early wishes.....which is rally good because i had a pretty crummy day driving all day today and wouldnt have had near as much fun .
and now the Tres Leches are here for my birthday!
