:: Happy Hopping Weekend Melters!:::::

Cathlete
Good Morning!

Well I am bummed out..the little family restaurant that we were taking our family to for breakfast had a sign out last night that the kitchen is under construction so they are closed for now..Ugh! After I talked to them 3 times about going there for Easter Sunday breakfast with 12 people! I am really pi**ed off! DH and I will be cooking breakfast for 12 tomorrow.

No workout today...it's my rest day. I am making lists for shopping, cleaning the house to get ready for tomorrow!

BB in a few for personals

Deb:)

Hi I'm back,

Well we were a "chatty" bunch yesterday.LOL:) ...

Jennifer:
Please don;t send that snow this way!

Lainie:
Do you take sinus or allergy meds that could be causing the drowsiness? Glad to hear Ewan was a good boy at the play date!

Tneah:
I did not hear about that magazine and the nasty comments..:-( Why are people like that? I guess my days/nights are reversed...I love being up at 4-5 am..of course I am in bed by 9! Billy Blanks..I have not done any of his workouts in years! I think I have the first series, with the shorter easy one, and the longer one that he does in warp speed. My hair dresser got a herniated disk from that workout!~

Leanne:
Sorry your Easter plans fell through too! Don't put too much on the scale numbers. Body fat and how your clothes fit are the real test. Just one meal with a little extra sodium can make a 2 pound difference in the scale weight. Make sure you tell us what you think of that Troy set. We are on hold with the puppy, waiting to hear from the breeders. The puppies in Illinois will be born on March 30. They told us they don;t decide if they are giving any up until they are around 8 weeks old :-( . There are others on the list...We have feelers out..we'll see.

Shelly:
You should sleep in on your day off! It's funny that you have done the legs one in PS and that's the one I never do! Your SO is very talented!

Have a great weekend...must go off and plan a brunch!

Deb:)

Morning Deb and all who follow!

Deb - that really stinks that your Easter brunch plans got changed at the very last minute. Why on earth would the restaurant not have told you??? Sleeping in meant 7 a.m. this morning, which is a heck of a lot later than 4:30! I'm crossing my fingers that you get one of the puppies!

I got up and did iTread 9 with Grace this morning and now I'm off to Walmart. I was supposed to take my car in for an emissions test but they called this morning to say that their machine isn't work so I'll have to do it Monday instead. I'm making my SO come shopping with me later and tonight we're having a friend over to play on the Wii.:)

I'll check back in later to see who's around.

Good Morning Melters.

Last night, we had 4" of snow and now it's sunny and warm.
LIC preceded shoveling this AM so I got the double bonus workout.
Sun AM before church/nursery, I want to do DM. We shall see.
That's getting up at 530AM for that one.

Glad I didn't drive yesterday. South Haven and Detroit (Grosse Ile)
both got hit hard with snow.

Hope you all enjoy your Sat.

Hi Everyone!:)

Deb, that sucks! How rude they did not let you know after you confirmed a million times. Bad business if you ask me. Have fun cooking for your guests though, what are you making? The right pup will come up, thats what happened with Georgie. Someone actually bought him and then backed out, I called a day afterwards and found him.:) It was meant to be.;)

Shelley, your SO is very talented! What an interesting hobby. Have fun at Wal-mart, I hate the one here by our house, sadly its "gang-bang" central...our neighborhood is nice and "old Las Vegas" Frank Sinatra used to have a home...but turn the corner and its a different story, so the Wal-mart is a place you really have to watch your back and your purse quite frankly.

Jennifer, sounds like your warm weather will melt that snow, I saw on the news about your area getting hit with a storm. Hopefully its the last one this year!

Hi to Leanne, Lainie and the rest.

We have two more guys coming down from SLC this weekend, so I feel the need to "make" Easter dinner. Which means, picking up a Honeybaked Ham! I refuse to eat pig (something about the nastiness of that particular animal and the fact it does not have sweat glands) so at least I will not be tempted to indulge in that brown sugary mess. Also need to take Georgie to the groomers again this morning, he blows a coat 5 times a year, it gets pretty bad, and there is no way I can manage it, so off to the groomers he goes. He actually likes it though-strange dog.
Need to take a rest day today, but might do it tomorrow, BBL....

Happy weekend, everyone!

I slept in until almost 7:00 this morning, but I've been procrastinating about getting to work with Clean Max. It's after 8:30 right now, and I've just been goofing around and looking stuff up on-line. I think I'm avoiding Clean Max b/c I know that it also involves Mop Max today, and I *despise* mopping. Of course, I can't vacuum and mop until DH wakes up, so I'll try to do some cleaning, then my workout (KPC, which I'm so excited about since it's been ages since I've done it!), and then vacuum/mop after he's up and about.

Last night we finally opened up one of the two boxes of Girl Scout cookies that my DH bought. Tagalongs . . . mmmm! I was fairly good, though, and only had two cookies, and that was my treat for the day!

Deb -- How awful about the restaurant not letting you know like that! Can you do some simple things like breakfast casseroles so that you and DH don't have to be running around the kitchen too much tomorrow? Thanks for the pep talk about the weight gain. Since I've been doing the GS series again, I've been starving. I'll let you know how I like my Troy Lite. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you about the new puppy!

Shelley -- I showed my DH your SO's army, and he was SOOOO in love with it! He knew right away what Warhammer is, and totally envies your SO's job! Glad you got to sleep in today! I slept in until 7:00 also, and it was so heavenly!

Tneah -- That is so AWESOME that you got the diet portion of your book finished yesterday! When will it be out? Will your company be selling it and/or can we find it at a bookstore or on-line? I know what you mean about buying something fun and new to wear for, er, you know! Hopefully you can plan for some "wig time" soon!;-)

Jennifer -- Glad that the sun is out for you after all that snow! You definitely got quite a workout today!

Lainie -- Have you been sleeping better? Hopefully so! Are the boys doing better today? What are you doing for Easter tomorrow?

Shannon -- Will you be doing a computer-free weekend again? How's the job hunt going?

OK, I'm late checking in. Again. Another lazy Saturday for us. DH just got back to town last night (he'd left on Sunday so it was a longish trip for him) so I think he wants to laze around a bit. Plus he has some work to do. I hope to get out to the post office soon to send off some Amazon and swapadvd.com DVDs. Exciting, huh? I'm also having to do a lot of laundry--partly because Isaac had a vomiting incident last night after he went to bed--just one, at least. He seems o.k. so far today, thank goodness.

OK, want to do personals, but DH is nagging me about lunch. I swear he is such a big baby sometimes. I don't think he appreciates what a queen of domesticity I am. I'm going to go feed his helpless highness and I'll bbl.

ETA: My CIA preorders arrived today! Woot!

OK, I'm back.

Deb, sorry that restaurant let you down. When I was very little, my mom and stepdad had to make breakfast for 10 (4 of whom were teenage boys) every morning (if that makes you feel any better). No, I don't take any sinus or allergy meds for that very reason--I'm easily wiped out by them. I am taking an antidepressant, though, which was actually prescribed by my gynecologist for my menstrual mood swings. I'm wondering if I really need that since I am also on a Pill that has me having my period only every 3 months anyway.

Shelley, good job getting that Saturday workout done first thing. Today is my weekly rest day. I'm really glad because my butt and obliques are really sore after Squeezing yesterday. Youch!

Jennifer, good luck with all the snow. It actually seems like spring here today.

Tneah, I haven't been to the nearest Wal-Mart here (it's really not all that near and I prefer Target anyway) but in the town where we used to live in Texas the Wal-mart was a scary place. It was more Deliverance or small hick Texas town scary. And lots of really big women wearing too snug spandex and blue eyeshadow. Eek! My DH always accused me of being a snob when we went to Wal-mart as I'd whisper comments to him.

Leanne, I always sleep well I just wake up still tired. I had more of the wacky dreams last night, too. Long story short--was involved in a bank robbery sort of caper with three other women. A cop showed up and we managed to throw suspicion on these two young guys instead. Then we went shopping for a really fancy apt in NYC and couldn't find our way to the top floor where we were supposed to view the apt. Something like that. There were also some car chases and other shenanigans, but I can't remember exactly where they fit in.

A sweet person from another check in posted this...I thought it might show that there are still some wonderful people in the world....

This is on of the kindest things I've ever experienced.I have
no way to know who sent it,but there is a beautiful soul
working in the dead letter office of the postal service.

Our 14year old dog,Abbey, died last month. The day after she
died,my 4 yr old daughter Meredith was crying and talking
about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write
a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven,God would
recognize her.I told her that I thought we could so she
dictated this words:

Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and
is with you.I miss her very much.I am happy that you let me
have her as my dog even though she got sick.
I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls
and to swim.I am sending a picture of her so when you see
her, you will know that she is my dog.I really miss her.
Love,Meredith.

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and
Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven.We put our return
address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the
front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of
stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That
afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post
office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the
letter yet.I told her that I thought He had.
Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our
front porch addressed, To Meredith, in unfamiliar
handwriting. Meredith opened it.Inside was a book by
Mr.Rogers called,"When a Pet Dies".Taped to the
front cover was the letter we had written to God in its
opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey
and Meredith and this note:

Dear Meredith:
Abbey arrived safely in Heaven. Having the picture was a big
help.I recognized Abbey right away. Abbey isn't sick
anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your
heart.Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our
bodies in heaven,I don't have pockets to keep your picture
in,so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you
to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.
Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for
helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful
mother you have. I picked her especially for you.
I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you
very much.
By the way,I'm easy to find,I am wherever there is love.

Oh my goodness, this is so touching, uh, I am teary-eyed, thank you Deb for posting this beautiful story.

Good Morning and Happy Easter to all!

I got up at 4:45 and had some much needed coffee before doing the Pyramid Bonus Combo...Wow that is a good workout! Now I can do the upper and lower splits this week to hit each body part twice.

We are getting food ready for the family brunch..we are having a Cheesy Sausage/egg cassarole ( not healthy at all!), fresh fruit salad, bagels, multi-grain bread, croisants, pea-meal bacon, and pork sausage patties. The only "clean" things are the multi-grain bread and fresh fruit, but my family is not known for eating clean so I have to give them what they like..

Anyway I will try to be back later for personals...my Dad and his wife want to look around at houses in the area after breakfast. They are selling their house and want to move closer to all of us ! Yeah! I am looking forward to having my Dad close by again.

Have a great day!

Deb:)

Good Morning Deb and other Melters.

Happy Easter!!

Last night, I went to The Melting Pot, a fondue place and ate/drank way too much. My bill put me into sticker shock. Thank GOD, I rarely do this kind of thing. I was full all the way into my workout this AM.

So, last night, I told my friends I would be working out before church. Alot of them looked at me if I was crazy. Oh well. DM was the workout. I actually did the squat thrust/terminators at the end. I normally give up half way through.

Deb-your brunch fits in perfectly with my eating weekend. Especially that cassarole. Great workout for the Holiday. Never did that though.

Anyways, watching Good Morning America-Weekend. I like it cause Bill Wier has a very sexy voice plus he's cute anyways.

Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter, everyone!

I woke up at 5:30 this morning for some odd reason, so I'm checking in early before I make some breakfast. I was doing some calculations from BFFM yesterday, and I think that if I can lose three more pounds, I'll be able to get my body fat where I'd like it to be. Of course, why are those last few pounds the hardest?! I know, of course, but it's easier to whine!;-)

Today I'll be doing a HIIT DVD and then GS Chest/Tris. I already feel my chest getting sore.

Hope you all have wonderful days! Since our plans feel through, I'll be around, so I'll check back in later today.

Deb -- What a sweet story you posted yesterday! I love things like that! How fantastic that your dad might move closer to you! Glad that the breakfast cooking is going to turn out alright. Your meal sounds delicious!

Shelley -- Did you get up early today for your workout? How was Wal Mart yesterday? Will Sophie be doing any other Easter egg hunts today?

Jennifer -- Congrats on getting through those squat thrusts in DM! That's one of my favorite workouts, but I rarely do it since I've ben trying to do heavier lifting and not as many circuits. And don't worry about working out today -- our Melty Group completely understands! :) And that meal from last night sounds great. We all need treats like that every now and again, right?!

Lainie -- What CIA workouts did you get? I can't wait until my new Amy workouts arrive! It'll probably take a few more days to get them here on the West Coast. Are the boys feeling better? Will they do an Easter Egg hunt today? Did you get more sleep? That dream you had last night was another odd one!

Tneah -- Will you and DH hit any buffets or special brunches today? Is Vegas pretty mellow on Easter? Be sure to ease up on yourself with the eating today!

Shannon -- "Hi" in case you check in! Will you be spending the day with your parents?

Happy Easter Everyone:)

The guys came down yesterday, so I went and got a Honeybaked Ham with all the fixins plus a lemon pudding cake. Hopefully this will keep them occupied all day long! I am feeling like I need a day where I do not have to talk to anyone, or be "on", know what I mean?
Last night I played hymns on the piano in honor of Easter, even though I am not a "religious" type, I was raised religiously and still have lots of respect for all religions and beliefs. Then inspired, I watched one of my favorite movies, "Immortal Beloved"..its about Beethoven. So moving and so good. In the background DH and the boys were enjoying their scotch and arguing loudly about Barak Obama...x( see? I am ready to check in to a hotel for some quiet...I really am a person who prefers to be alone most of the time. Probably because we always have people around us. But its all good. I love a reason to celebrate, and Easter is a fun holiday. I bought the boys and DH chocolate bunnies too.:p

Deb, it would be great having dad around. I wish my own father lived closer, we are finally good friends after all these years and I really enjoy his company. Your breakfast sounds perfect for an Easter morning.

Jennifer, have a great Easter. I never watch GMA, I prefer one of our local shows in the AM, but might have to check it out.

Leanne, good for you girl, three pounds away from your goal is hard, but doable, you can do it. It sounds like you are there already frankly, three pounds either way can mean extra water, or whatever and can go back and forth all the time, that is happening to me right now!

Hi to Shelley and Lainie and all the rest. Robin I think comes home tomorrow? I will check back in later, have Spinervals on tap this am, yesterday was a complete rest day for me. I indulged in whipped cream and sugar free chocolate syrup yesterday, mixed them together and yum...sounds kinda gross I know, but to me it was amazing.:9

Morning all!

Happy Easter!

Jennifer - WTG on DM. I love that workout. And I always forget about those squat thrusts at the end of the last drill!

Deb - your brunch sounds really good. I love looking at houses!

Leanne - 3 lbs away? That's great! I agree with Tneah that those 3 lbs could be anything!

Tneah - I absolutely ADORE Immortal Beloved. I'm a huge Gary Oldman fan and think he's brilliant in everything, but this one just makes me weep. I think it's one I need to own.

Well, I finally worked up the courage to get on the scale this morning. Haven't in weeks because my eating, etc. hasn't been very good. And guess what? I'm down 3 lbs. So now I'm officially past my 10 lb melting goal!!! I wouldn't mind losing 2 more to have that little wiggle room, you know?

Walmart was insane yesterday. And then my SO and I went to the mall and it was very frustrating. We were supposed to be shopping for my birthday and he ended up with two pairs of pants and I ended up with nothing!!!

Today is a rest day for me, since I've worked out the last 16 without a rest day, so I think it's time.

Yippee!! Good for you Shelley! You are our "Melting Queen" I am quite sure.:7 What a nice surprise for you, I only wish that sort of thing happened to me, it seems dropping pounds at this point for me is slower than molasses for some reason. I am so happy for you!

And uh, I say go shopping for your own dang birthday present, get what you want, then show SO and thank him for it. I have done this, in fact last year no one even remembered my birthday except my dad who lives thousands of miles away. I didn't want a gift, just would have been nice for DH and his daughter who I adore by the way to remember to say happy birthday. So this year? I am buying my own present and my own damn cake and then will "thank them" for the whole thing.;) DH never remembers anything anyway, I know he loves me, but these sort of things require a woman's touch, so I say go get your own gift.:7
I know, I love Gary Oldman as well, that movie was one of his best, it just touches me. I played "Moonlight Sonata" at my 8th grade piano recital....:) I have always loved Beethoven.

Well, those three pounds are three *real* pounds. Right now, I'm at about 19% body fat, and I'd like to get down to maybe 17% since that should give me some definition, right??! So, according to the BFFM book, if I lose three more pounds, I should get there. I'm such a waffler, though -- just yesterday I was going to try to just hold steady, and now I'm thinking that I should buckle down and just go for it!

I'm feeling a bit down this morning. DH is still asleep and I've been doing some beading to keep busy, but it just seems so sad that we won't be getting together with family this year. I'm also missing my mom terribly this morning, which I always do on the holidays (Shelley -- are you feeling the same way?); I was going to go to the cemetery tomorrow, but I may go today since it might make me feel a bit better.

Shelley -- That is just so AWESOME that you lost three pounds! ^^^5's!!! And, yes, take that rest day and don't feel guilty about it! I can't believe that you've gone so long without taking one! And you need to take Tneah's advice and get yourself a nice treat for your b-day! It's on the 28th, right? Is there something you've been wanting really badly? To loosely borrow from Nike, just get it!:)

Tneah -- Oh, what a lovely idea to play some hymns and then watch "Immortal Beloved"! It sounds like you need some quiet time just to relax and re-charge. You've been doing so much lately -- with your work and your personal goals -- that some down time sounds like it's just what you need. Can you take a few days off from work sometime soon? When is your b-day, by the way? Is it coming up soon? I love your idea of just treating yourself! My DH can be very sweet, but then also very uneventful when it comes to gifts. The last two years, he ran out the day of our anniversary to buy me something; I know that it's the thought that counts, but when that thought comes the day of the anniversary, it just makes me mad! And your treat of whipped cream and syrup sounds yummy!

Hello everyone. Just wanted to hop on quickly and say "hi" (the "hop on" was not a pun on it being Easter, actually).

The boys had their little Easter Egg hunt in our backyard this morning, but we didn't go to church because Isaac woke up still feeling puny. He puked in the night again. He seemed fine yesterday during the day and he seems better today (or at least he's not puking though his tummy is bothering him a bit). I'm being very careful with his diet today (he tried a little boiled egg but none of the Easter chocolate yet--and we don't have much of that, thank goodness).

Anyway, sorry for the self-absorbed post but I hope to bbl. I have to go do a fun workout now--going to try Amy Bento's new CIA Hi-Low Knockout!

Hi, I'm back...

Everyone left about 1:00 or so and DF and his wife and I rode around for a couple of hours looking at houses. We actually went into one..we were trying to sneak around just to see the size of the yard,( that is one of the "must haves" for them), and the owner came out and started talking to us.. she was so nice, she let us in to look around. My DF said when we left, "put a bid in, we'll take this one".. he was tired and wanted to go home.... Everyone loved the cassarole and all the other stuff we had. I ate too much candy! I think I ate more candy today than Halloween and Christmas combined
x( .. oh well tomorrow starts a new week of eating well.

Jennifer:
The meal you had sounds great! You have to do that once in a while.

Leanne:
Do you follow the number of calories that BFFM suggests? I was always too afraid to eat that much.. I really couldn;t eat all those calories unless I was eating bad food! I hope you are in a better mood later..maybe when your DH is up he will want to do something exciting!

Tneah:
How lovely that you decided to play hymns today..so calming and appropriate. I think we sometimes let the "Easter Bunny" stuff get in the way of what the holiday is about.

Shelly:
Cudos to you on the weight loss! Way to go!:7 I agree with Tneah..buy your own present..that is how I got STS..it was my Christmas present to myself!

Lainie:
Your poor DS...nothing like having stomach problems on Easter with all those goodies around that you can;t have..I hope he feels better tomorrow.

Have a great day!

Deb;-)

OK, I was exhausted when I tried to work out today--ended up napping instead (and it took me forever to get up and do it anyway--did not go directly to it after the post above). Then we had a power outage for a couple hours right when I was going to make dinner.

Now I'm still tired. See ya'll in the morning.
