Happy HATEful VD! - Feb 14

Diane, hats off to you for realizing what is important in life. You and your child won't regret the decision. I had about 3 months off with my kids, but my DH was home every summer with them and we had a great babysitter who was more like family.

Dana, if my DH gave me that line about woman's work he'd get clobbered. What generation is he from anyway? I could almost understand if you were a SAHM, but you work full time as well as take care of the house, kids, etc. I don't want to give advice, but I'd sure find some way to convince him you need at least an hour for YOU every day. Tell him the boys need some masculine "Daddy" time, otherwise, they'll turn into mommies boys.

Michele, hey, are you still glued to that phone?

So it's still snowing here, and now the wind is really picking up. I'd love to grab my cross country skiis and get out there, but that wind is just too wicked. Instead, I'm going to grab IMAX2. Later haters.

OMG Michele - you are crackin' me up! I have a grandma who's like that, but she's actually fun to talk to! And she only keeps me on the phone for an hour or so.

Yeah, you've gotta make up some excuse... Have someone come in to the room and start coupghing really loud and you have to give them the heimlick maneuver or something.

LOL

Dana - Oh no he ditnt... you better tell that DH of yours that if you don't get some alone time and he doesn't start liftin' a frikkin' finger that you're going to be like 200 pounds overweight in a year... that'll make him think! But that's just my vicious inner-bit&* talking... Sweet-talk would probably work better.}(

Diane - Yeah, good for you! Not that there's anything wrong with being career driven. But to be that way to the point of not understanding someone else's decision is a little bit much I think. That whole ritual of going out to lunch with the lawyer/employee gal is silly. But definitely take the paid leave. Woo-hoo!

Jen - enjoy your relaxing evening!! Two drinks sounds good to me too!

OK, I really need to get back to work and homework.... But I've gotta check back to see if Michele ever gets the phone removed from her ear. :7

Afternoon haters! I am home now & did about another 30 minutes of shoveling. More "cosmetic" shoveling this time - back deck, stuff like that. I am so excited to know that tomorrow morning when I go to leave for work I won't have to shovel for an hour first! Got my taxes dropped off, quick trip to grocery store, swept the house, cleaned the shower, showered, and now in my PJs and going to relax for the evening! Ah, the good life!

August- It is really good exercise, I think I figured I burned 582 calories yesterday shoveling & probably half of that or a little more today...it is fun the first time you have to shovel but not when it's in the morning before work! I really don't mind it too much but my neck & back really hurt today. The water trick, from the time I drink it until I MUST go is about 20 minutes. If you have problems going on a regular basis you might want to try it... or if you don't have trouble now after getting obsessed with cheddar cheese you may have trouble!

Robin- Do you really think people would pay for a w/o with me shoveling? You are giving me ideas, wonder how much I could make... And then if I add your DH to the w/o we could even sell more! How is Greyor doing? Did you make it to and from work safely? How much of the nasty white stuff did you end up getting?

Terri- I like the idea of not shoveling real snow in the w/o dvd! Glad you guys were able to escape the nasty white stuff, I am so sick of it and with the piles of it from everyone shoveling out it'll be around for a long time. Threesome with Papa Murphy... ;-) cute!
I have never done that premix either, is the part of L&G that uses the high step? I sometimes will add the 2nd half of L&G, it is the half that doesn't use the high step. Still trying to decide on HST or IMAX for tomorrow w/o.

Michele- My neck and back are a aching today! I left work early today but we were open, still less than half the people made it in today. My neighbor I don't think left his house yesterday, he has some health issues too, knee problems, etc... so it is really hard on him to be out in that weather also, I think he is only around 55 but doesn't move around like he should be able to. The guy across street was going to help but by the time he came outside & saw me I was 3/4 of the way done. Plus they all know I workout like a crazy woman & can for the most part take care of myself... darn my reputation!
So, how is the weather in OH? I hope you & your DH are both warm, safe, and have a wonderful VD evening together?

Okay, those faces have me rolling on the floor, I love the one with the huge eyes. :+ "uh huh, yes, really? uh huh, oh that's nice..."... Terri said it perfectly!

Diane- Yeah, I know I need to be better at listening to my body & not my head... today was my scheduled day off so that is good, only walked 2 miles & shoveled for an hour. Sorry you have been feeling sick in the morning...hopefully that'll go away after the first trimester. Don't worry about working out & eating healthy... worry about growing a healthy little bean & from what I hear you'll have plenty of workouts chasing after him/her once he/she is here! :)

Dana- Thank goodness it is done snowing!!! I've never been so happy in my life. I am rewarding myself for all the shoveling by having a "few" kaluha & diet hot coco's tonight... I normally allow myself one & count it in my daily calories but tonight I may have 3 & only count one! }( I hope that maybe you can talk to your DH & somehow help him realize how much you do. I know the guy I dated for 4 years didn't have a clue of how much I did... we lived together & had his son every other weekend. We've been split up for 2 years now & he is still begging me to take him back, he now realizes what he lost. Too little, too late. He came by yesterday afternoon to see if I needed help shoveling...but I already had it done!! ;-) Guys can just be stupid, a girl at work gave me a card today that said "Guys are dumb but they buy you things, Happy Valentines Day!" Need I say more?!?

Mariah- How's the weather down there in Florida? Where in FL do you live? I love Siesta Key, FL... one of these days I'll have a 2nd home there.

Okay, going to go fish around in the open forum and see what all is new. BBL!

Im in daytona beach

we still have winter here but it doesnt last as long and the only white stuff is the dandruff on the northern men who keep their heads in woolen caps till they get down here
My son who is upstate NY (about 2 1/2 hours north of NYC) just told me minus 14 tonite with wind chill
But thats why i moved

And I cant wait to come home from my meeting either
gonna stop at the store buy myself some flowers get in my jammies make dinner and eat by candlelight
Who says we cant love ourselves

ROTFLMAO!! You girls just crack me up. Terri, I loved your little blurb there.

Well, I was on the phone for exactly 4 hours. It was my 80 year old Aunt Rose whom I treasure dearly. I had promised her at Thanksgiving that I would call her for a good, long chat and when I didn't, she decided to call me instead. When I saw her number on my caller ID I debated about whether or not to answer the phone, but then I thought if something was wrong and I didn't pick up I wouldn't be able to live with myself. I knew it would be a loooooooooong call -- it always is -- which is why I hadn't called her yet.

My kitty just knocked over the big wastebasket in my study and he's laying on a pile of shredded paper -- LMAO

Dana, your DH! I completely agree with Robin. You gotta take the bull by the horns and whip him into shape! You DESERVE some time for yourself.

I love this all for one, one for all mentality! That's what Cardiohateville is all about. So, today is New Life...what day is this anyway...Oh!...it's New Life Wednesday and the goal is 5#'s. WE CAN DO IT!!

Arista, I need to go back and re-read your lingerie story, but I seem to recall a clever quip or 2. You are very funny.

Robin, oh man, I almost forgot about the leather teddy. LMAO! It's been awhile since you've pulled that out of the dresser drawer}( . I saw your post about the ruby earrings. Yes, your DH is a keeper for sure! I think you should post a picture of your lovely self wearing those earrings. --I'm glad to hear that Greyor is holding his own. My DH is familiar with that hospital and he said it has an excellent reputation. He looked up the list of pediatric specialists and he said they're all from fancy schools :)

Mariah, I'm on my way to your house where it's nice and warm:D . I love your V-Day plan. You're absolutely right -- we should love ourselves! Why would anybody else want to love us if we couldn't even love ourselves?

Jen, your neighbor is 55 and having trouble with his knees? Now just remember that Robin and I are both soon to be 52, okay, and we are very, very young. I mean we're really young and HOT. We're HOT, baby! LMAO

Hey, some mornings I can barely drag my sorry butt out of bed.

Diane, I know exactly the mentality you're talking about. It's no different in medicine. I agree with Robin -- you're definitely doing the right thing and that's what my DH would tell you, too. I know it's not possible for every mother to be a SAHM, but if you can do it, it's just a great gift for your children AND for you, too. --Oh yeah, ellipticals have a very large footprint. Mine is in my bedroom. I don't like it in there but I don't have any place else to put it. The space I fixed up for a workout room is way to small. It kind of junks up my bedroom but I wouldn't get rid of it for anything. I seriously love that machine:D

DH gave me a card for VD with a very sweet sentiment. We don't usually do up VD, but I made him a lovely steak dinner last night with roasted fingerling potatoes and roasted cauliflower and broccoli which he loved. He made it to the airport without any trouble. It was funny because he called me 3 times while I was on the phone with my aunt. On his last call the first words out of his mouth were, 'you're not STILL on the phone with Aunt Rose, are you?", LMAO!

Okay, I need to feed kitty and put a heating pad on my neck and ear -- lol! I'll BBL. I didn't miss anyone, did I? If I did, I'm sorry. Oh, I almost forgot about that pancake recipe -- I'll post it tomorrow:*

Uh oh, I just heard a loud noise that sounded like it came from my roof. I better check it out.

Mariah- "we still have winter here but it doesnt last as long and the only white stuff is the dandruff on the northern men who keep their heads in woolen caps till they get down here"

Crack me up girl! Too funny. With all the weather here I haven't even really had time to think much about VD & not having anybody in my life, but that is by choice too so I enjoy nights like this just being able to be "alone" with my kitties & relax! Maybe one of these days I'll want a man in my life again but not anytime soon probably. I don't want to stay in Central IL anyway so we'll see where I end up. Smile, you can be my Valentine! :7

Michele- FOUR HOURS!?!?! I would've DIED, really. I don't ever answer my phone at night. People that know me call the cell phone or text messages me. I am on the phone all day at work so it is the last thing I want to be on at night. I've thought about not even having a home phone b/c I couldn't tell you the last time I used it. I always use my cell phone b/c most of the peeps I talk to are out of town so it's free from the cell.
I can just picture your kitty sitting there in the paper, how cute. :D Yeah, my neighbor is YOUNG & alreay having problems like that, I think they want him to have knee surgery but don't know if he's going to or not... we'll see. He doesn't eat real healthy or w/o at all so his "health" seems to be a lot worse than 55, my mom is 52 & she seems like 35 to me-heck I think she runs around more than I do... you & Robin take of yourselves also & workout to CATHE so I know you guys aren't your "typical" 52yr olds! ;)
Glad your DH made it to the airport with no trouble.

Okay, BBL!

Michele! Four hours!??! No way I could talk to ANYONE on the phone for 4 hours. Not even you, my very good friend. Thank your DH for the hospital affirmation. We have been very happy with the care Greyor got and is getting there. They are definitly in a league above my institution, but don't tell my administrators I said that.

Mariah, I like your style, girlfriend. I hope you and yourself have a wonderful VD. When and where does your new grand-daughter arrive in the states?

Jen, aren't you getting any of the wind we are having? I hope not. I'd hate to have you have to shovel again tomarrow. I have the day off tomarrow, and I'm hoping my DH has a snow day so he doesn't have to get up early and shovel. He shoveled the driveway 3 times today.

OK, so did anyone do that stupid pencil test? Dang, I had no trouble holding a pencil. DH liked my panties though. So, yeah, I'm in on the Haters to Lose 5 pounds tour, starting on New Life Thursday. Right now I'm to busy enjoying the bottle of wine I got for VD to worry about the scale.

Robin, had it been anybody else, I would've hung up. I hate long phone conversations -- LMAO

New Life Thursday it is!! I'm going to indulge in a little yummy carry out for dinner tonight}( :9

Pencil test? WTH is the pencil test? Do I even want to know? Probably not.

Okay, I'll see y'all tomorrow. I'm whipped.

>Jen, aren't you getting any of the wind we are having? I hope
>not. I'd hate to have you have to shovel again tomarrow. I
>have the day off tomarrow, and I'm hoping my DH has a snow day
>so he doesn't have to get up early and shovel. He shoveled the
>driveway 3 times today.

Hey Robin- No wind here now... we had the wind (25-35mph)yesterday along with the 15 inches of snow... I thought was only 12 but Mr. Gus Gordon at 6PM said 15.8 here in Springfield! That is why it was so bad yesterday... all that wind along w/ 15.8 inches of snow in a 24 hour period! The wind died about 12-1AM this morning, which is the reason I had to shovel once more this morning to get back out! Now it is just going to get really cold, right now w/o wind chill it is 12 degrees, tonights low is like negative something and then the same thing again tomorrow but I think by Friday it's supposed to be like 30, YIPPEE!

I just hope I don't get sick from being out in the wind w/ snow smacking up against my face for 2 hours yesterday!

Stay inside and warm, that is awesome that you don't have to work & hopefully your DH gets a snow day or can "play" sick?!?!}(

Michelle- Check out the open forum "pencil test"!!

I haven't tried it but I am guessing that I would not pass... I had heard of the pencil test for the boobs before, I know I would pass that once since getting my "twins" Sept.05, they don't pudge! :D

Alright girls - 5 pounds it is, starting tomorrow. On your marks, get set, go!

4 frikkin hours of talking... on the phone? You deserve a medal!

Sorry, I gotta go take this test for my programming class before 9 pm tonight...I want to talk more...

Resist... urge... to... gab...

OK, have a great rest of V-day gals. I'm gettin' me a glass of wine after this test and some major chocolate action. Fiance ended up having to work, so we're going to celebrate tomorrow.

:*
