Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has seen this movie? I thinking about taking my son to see it for my birthday next week. The previews look cute. Is it more like a musical? TIA for any input.
I took both my 7 year old boy and 3 year old girl and they loved the movie. It is definitely a musical. The movie is very cute and has humor that both children and adults can appreciate , just be aware that for a kids movie it is pretty long(1hr,48min).
Thanks, I think I'll give it a try, we get in for free pretty much anyway. My SO is in a wheelchair so he and a guest get in for free. He was offended at first but just figured it was because he brought his own chair, lol. I wish we went to movies more often, we mostly just rent from netflix.
I took my grandson Sunday. I hated it. Was adult like music and borinnnnnnng. I was alot disappointed.Steven said we go home now after about 35 min into it. We should have went to the Santa Clause 3
Oh, he is almost 3..
I vote no...
DH and I just came back from it and we just loved it. It might be just a tad long for young children (about an hour and 40 minutes), but we were in a theater packed with kids and the kids sat still for it from the beginning. When kids are bored they start to fidget; didn't hear any of that.
There was less music and dancing than I'd anticipated (and in fact hoped for) so I'm hoping when it comes out on DVD there will be some bonus features with extended music / dance numbers. When Mumble started doing his thing to the Stevie Wonder song, everyone started bouncing in their chairs.
I took my 9 year old son yesterday and he laughed and had a great time! I enjoyed it also, so I think it is age appropriate for your child. I would not take a toddler, they just wouldn't find any thing to hold their attention span, and I don't really see it being marketed toward the teens either. I enjoyed the music, the action, and Robin Williams!
My SIL took her 5yr old grandaughter and the poor little girl was scared! My SIL told me that there were some very dark parts and the music was loud and frightening. So, even though I haven't seen it, I'd have to vote no.
I saw it and it's going down as one of my favorite movies of all time. DH loved it too. The whole audience clapped at the end. I can't wait until I can get the DVD.
I thought it was very good. A kids' movie an adult can actually enjoy. Some moms have complained about sexual innuendo, but I think it will go over kids' heads.
Your 7 year old should be fine - my 7 and 9 year olds both enjoyed it. (How cute are those penguins!!!)
