Ja! There were a few threads where flamethrowers were actually brandished, eh? They actually scorched my retinas! I am anti-contoversy these days, I find. Must be all the yoga. The DVD Update for 12/18 almost elicited a "Happy Birthday to me!" but I have this lovely thread and my birthday was over by the time I read it, so.... I was going to buy a quarter sheet cake at Safeway and have them write that on it but the young man in the bakery said his handwriting was awful and I could go buy an appropriate cake writing tool but as I headed for the isle, I decided I didn't want a huge cake in the house and I didn't want to write my own message on it, so I opted for cupcakes. I did end up eating a piece of the cake my neighbor brought me to be polite but while I appreciated the gesture, I was less than thrilled about the extra cake. In fact, I just told my son's teacher, who is an absolute peach, that I will never ever bring her cookies, cakes, chocolates or the like as a gesture of our love for her because I know she's doing South Beach and "watching her figure" to use a quaint old expression. Since I can modify that to say it's how I keep "my boyish figure", I know the cake won't kill me but it wasn't even chocolate! AND the 42 candles actually scorched my retinas!

Happy B-Day Bobbi!!!! I was wondering where you have been lately.I didn't know you were busy getting older!!!!!:) :)
Lori:)

I didn't know that either but I like that. Anyone ever wants me to do something I don't want to I can tell them I am unavailable, too busy getting older! And it's true too since I am usually busy trying to keep up with my kids and that'll age you. They give the boundless energy to the wrong people!

Judy, I am and I love it so much. Our instructor this morning called us the advanced of the advanced and I think he meant it! (I did look behind me to see if he was talking to me though:))I do some things really well but others confound me. Will I ever be able to touch my chest to the floor in a wide legged seated forward bend? Not with these tight inner thighs muscles but I can put both ankles behind my head. I know! Why would anyone want to? LOL! I have been going to Yoga Oasis for something like 9 months 4-6 times a week and I am thinking of trying a 2-3 class since they are 2 hours long and that is heavenly to me. I have run only minimally but I am content with that, largely thanks to the yoga, but it's still on my wish list. That, I think, is one of the beautiful things about the forties. Modify, modify, modify actaully means modify, modify, modify! I love Anusara Yoga. I am fairly ripped for an ecto, nice and flexible for an old lady and getting mellow in my old age to boot! I am going to try naturopathy and accupuncture on the tootises and try to avoid cortisone and definitely stay away from razors unless I need to shave my legs!

Happy birthday Bobbi,
Aren't you lucky to have someone remember. I love your posts and humor. Would greatly appreciate seeing you here more. Hope you had a great day as I am late on this. I guess I have been really busy lately. I glance over the forums every so often myself lately.

RE: Miss Bobbi!!!!!

Bobbi, please come back again soon! I didn't know until you had me ROFL just how much I missed you.:-(

Your yoga sounds just lovely. I've been thinking about getting back into it myself. SO MANY WORKOUTS...SO LITTLE TIME!! Still, from one old lady to another :p we have to keep ourselves well oiled so as not to come to a creaking, squeaking........Stop.

Unless it pertains to Christmas shopping, which I will gladly stop whenever anybody lets me.

Take care,
Ruth:)

Okay, I just posted a note to you Bobbi on here & for some reason it posted WAAAAAAAAAAAAay up around the 17th or 18th??? NO idea why.

Don't sigh, Ruth, my posts are all over the place but I go to the list and read sequentially. It's so nice the posts are numbered! I think they did that just for me! What I love most about the yoga is it has helped me come to terms with being unable to run. That was hard at first but yoga can be gruelliing and I like it best when it is, and it's very friendly when impact is out of the question. I love it as much as I love running and that's unbelievable. I walk out of those classes drenched in sweat and shakin' all over and, done right, it's as hard as any killer workout I have ever done and it doesn't affect my feet. I still have a lump of scar tissue on my left foot. I could have skipped having it carved out the way it was but desperate times call for desperate measures, I guess? Since I'm completely dependant on my orthotics for doing impact, I will need to get the rubbing taken care of but I love that I am not completely neurotic about it anymore. My old philosophy of less than 6 miles is a waste of time is long gone and I've found something that floats my boat in the same way so I am blessed! Again! :) Also, the limp I acquire after a couple of short runs is very unattractive so I need to explore alternatives until I fix the stinky foot. Come on Low Max!
