I run once a week for 6 miles. 4 other days I do Cathe cardio and weights tapes. When I run my hands get very stiff and numb. They don't numb doing the other exercises. Any ideas why this happens?
Hi,
I also have this problem when I walk which I attributed to the fact that when you are moving your blood is circulating and your hands may not get a good share of the blood because it is circulating elsewhere? I also have Carpal Tunnel though.
However, here is a quote from a friend who doesn't have carpel Tunnel and as a runner (at state level) had similar problems...
"Because when you run a long distance its like being out in the cold surviving your body keeps the blood flow to your essential organs in your torso and doesnt pay much attention to the lesser used arms and legs - when your running clearly the legs are important so the short answer is the rest of your body needs the blood more"
How's that? Hope it helps..
