Halloween Parade!!!

Liann

Cathlete
Well, our Halloween parade was last night and my DH's company's float won first place!!! My DH works for a Yearbook company, so their theme was "Yearbook Superlatives" - you know "Best Smile", "Best Dressed", etc... Anyways, we had a BLAST doing the parade and I thought I'd share a few pics to get you all in the Halloween mood. :) My DH was "Head of Class" and I was the "Drama Queen". Looking back, I think I looked more like a Barbie drag queen. Oh well, the little girls thought I was cool. ;)

My DH's pumpkin head riding to the parade. This was an actual pumpkin that I carved for DH. Unfortunately, it was a little rotten inside and poor DH had to have it on his head for an hour!

One side of the float. There was another whole set of signs on the other side.

Our paper machete pumpkin that was big enough for several of us to fit inside:

My DH, isn't he handsome???

Getting set up on the float. There were about 20 of us in various costumes. That's the "Class Clown" to the right.

This is one half of the "Cutest Couple". Her dad was Frankenstein.

Here we are again. DH was happy to get that thing off his head!

And last but not least the link to the article that was on the front page of the paper today!!!

That is awesome!! Costumes are great! My kids have their costume parade at school this afternoon, I'll make sure to snap some pictures to share! ;)

Oh God, your DH is a cutie patootie!!! And you look very cute in your drama queen costume :D . It looks like you guys had a lot of fun -- and your DH should win some sort of a prize for wearing that pumpkin on his head!

It looks like you had so much fun! :) I have never been to anything like this before; it looks great!

Missy

Missy - That was my first Halloween parade too! It was so much fun and the other floats were really cool too. They had this one that was the set from "Sweeney Todd", complete with barber chair and the soundtrack playing the background. Gettysburg really gets into Halloween! ;)

Thanks for sharing these, Liann! You and your DH are a beautiful couple! It looks like you had a fabulous time, but I can certainly see why your DH didn't want to wear that pumpkin for longer than he had to! ;)

How wonderful, Liann!!!!!

Hey, how did I not know you live in Gettysburg??? I LOVE Gettysburg. We were there a few years ago and stayed in the Gettysburg Hotel, right smack tab in the middle of the town. Such a cool little village.

DH swears he heard ghosts at Devil's Den. He is convinced. It was rainy and icky so I stayed in the car (not quite the Civil War buff he is), and when he got back he asked if I'd heard anything. I'd been listening to the radio and was oblivious to the rebel yells & gunfire he swears he heard. OOOOOOOOOHHHH!!!!!

Lol Tete!!! That goof ball show "Most Haunted" (bunch of wierdos!!!) was in G-burg a few weeks ago doing a "LIVE" investigation. We were laughing our butts off at them because I swear every car that goes by is a ghost to them. We wanted so badly to dress up and go mess with them. I totally believe in the "paranormal" but those people are full of crap! ;) I've noticed the traffic on the way to our favorite pizza place has increased lately though and this is the off season - so maybe all these ghost hunting shows are ramping up tourism (TAPS was here a few months ago - their investigation was WAYYY better).

-DH and I always joke that our house is haunted by a Rebel wiener dog. We blame him for any messes. ;)

Great pics!! You are such a cute couple;)

How in the world did DH stand having that big pumpkin on his head. OUCH...I think my neck would be killing me after awhile. You looked like the perfect drama queen!

OMG Liann, you and your hubby are such an adorable couple!!!
Thanks for sharing the pics. I LOVE Halloween!!

I was just outside doing a test run for all my Halloween props for tomorrow night. I had a group of kids trying to get a sneak peek.
I just love the kids! I'm so excited they are excited:D:D:D:D
