Halloween Costumes

Well, Halloween is on Sunday, and as usual there are the two main teams of people on the subject of Halloween costumes. Some people feel there's a certain point where it's just silly to keep dressing up, and then others (like me) will continue to dress up every year in any way they can, even if they're only using little accessories.

I'm surprised no one has started a thread on this yet; it's such a fun subject. Who's dressing up this year and, if you are, what are you going to be wearing?

I'm wearing a giant banana costume. This banana costume has a special place in my family. We bought it a couple of years ago and it's been used three or four times at least...and only a couple of times has it been for Halloween. :D

At the last minute I usually pull together a zombie-type look. I'm usually busy prepping 3 kids, so I come last! Just black clothes, ratted hair, white face makeup, black liner and lipstick and a bit of blood around the mouth. Not much but the kids get a kick out of it. I"m the only parent in our neighborhood who dresses up - even a little!!

I am going as a fully decked out Queen from the Renaissance era. I made everything including the corset and the jewelry. I am really excited since this is just about the coolest thing I ever made (I think I even like it better than my wedding dress which I made, don't tell dh)

I LOVE Halloween and will dress up every year!! This year I'm going as Jem from the 80s cartoon. I usually put my own costume together because store-bought ones are expensive and flimsy a lot of times.

I even went so far as to try and convince my BF to go trick-or-treating with me and he said no LOL ;)

My husband and I are going to a party tomorrow. He's going as Spiderman and I am going as the Crazy Cat Lady from the Simpson's. My MIL was her one year so I am borrowing the costume she made.

Sounds like me before I wash my face. . or post workout.. . :p

I don't dress up anymore. Nobody here really likes the Halloween. Sigh.

My hubby and I are going as zombies this year because it fits in with our post workout look: sweaty and messy hair! I cut up a bunch of clothes and sprayed "blood" on them, we'll use lots of makeup, and hopefully not look too ridiculous!

I love, love, love, Halloween! Ever since I was little, I always enjoyed dressing up and getting to be someone other than "me" for a day. I'm going to be an elf from LOTR. My daughter is wearing a poodle skirt--not sure if electric blue skirt and a lime green blouse with froggie buttons is too authentic, but she chose the fabric).:D My son is a Jedi. His older brother is dressing as the guy who opens the door and gives out candy.

We went to my neighbor's Halloween party last weekend and my husband and I dressed up as Sonny and Cher, going all out with wigs and platform shoes! It was so...much...fun! Only one or two couples were not dressed up and it made for such a fun mood! My husband loved the fact that women he didn't know were asking if his hair was real!:D

My kids are dressing up this year as puppies, Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, and one is still undecided. I will probably dress as a witch or something easy. Don't think I could make it around the neighborhood in those platform shoes.:p

Cool, do we get to see pictures?

Wow! I want to see pictures--I bet you look absoluely fabulous.

3rd request for pictures! Someone should start a post-Halloween thread where we can post pics!

I didn't dress up this year but alot of my co-workers did. We had the Star Trek crew, Wizard of Oz, The Jersey Shore cast, M&M's, one guy dressed up as a tele tubie (not sure if that's how you spell it) and we had a group that dressed up like PacMan and ghosts in which they ran around our building like in the video game.

It was really cute this year :)
