Anyone else have noticable hair loss after going off the pill? dh and I are planning to try in another 1 1/2 months (I went off the pill end of March). I haven't had a period yet and it seems I'm over-shedding my hair. Doc said this is normal for hormone changes (ie going off the pill). Anyone else have this happen? Any idea how long I should expect the hair loss to continue?

Yes, it happened to me and it is kind of scary and frustrating since I love my long thick hair! It has happened to me SIX times- each time I went off the pill to get pregnant (3 times) and also after the baby is born.
With each time, whether going off the pill or after having a baby, it stopped shortly after I got my period back. And the hair returned to normal. I'm pregnant with my 4th now so at least I know to expect it.
The only thing that bugs me now is i have these little wispy things at my hairline because I had a baby 10 months ago and since I am currently 11 weeks pregnant I think the new preganncy interfered with the hair growth.
Anyway, rest assured what you are going through is normal. I'm betting it will stop soon, probably after you get your period back.

I don't recall having that happen to me after I went off the pill, but I do have very CLEAR memories of it happening to me after both of my children were born. While I was pregnant with each of my children, normal, everyday hair loss stopped pretty much completely. Each time after the children were born, and my hormone levels were changing again, all the hair I was supposed to have lost normally (during the time of my pregnancies) then came out, and I was losing hair like crazy. It was nasty in the shower! Sounds like this is what the pill has done to you too, and it is normal, but VERY irritating.
